Diese ülbinder müssen also schwimmfähig sein, tine weitere Art sind ölabsorbierende Arden, die auf Ol in einem Oberflächenwasser gebracnt erst scüwiiüiaen, das öl abnorbieren und danach im wasser absinken (ο i 1-b.i .ik-Type ),In the last few voyages, so-called oil binders or Clabsorptionsstcffe with official approval have come into the trade in the field of water compliance and the control of its pollution by Cl by a number of companies. An overview and examination of these otoffe are given by Sturz and K. Klein in "Deutsche Gewässerkundliche hitteilungen", pp. 127-138 (1964). Of all of any kind oils are obtained with respect to water pollution the most dangerous, the light fuel oils used in large quantities in households and industry today, the slightly spreading at teilweioer oxidation surfactant-like properties and are in öiedebereich between 200-380 0 C, including slowly evaporate. In contrast, petrol is less dangerous (quick evaporation) and heavy heating oil, because it is very viscous and even clogs at temperatures of around 0-10 °, ie becomes semi-solid, i.e. it remains on the surface and can hardly migrate. Oil binders are used, for example, in order to absorb the residue in a powdery throat after the easily removable fiery has been skimmed off when heating oil has leaked and can be burned, for example. Or they are used, for example, to suck up and skim off a large amount of heating oil that has run into a sewage treatment plant and is hovering up. These binders must therefore be buoyant, another type are oil-absorbing ards, which first scüwiiüiaen on oil in surface water, absorb the oil and then sink in the water (ο i 1-bi .ik-Type),

As Ölbindez * are known: post-treated peat, which is buoyant, absorbent earth (similar to bleaching earth), rubber powder, which also floats and absorb a relatively large amount of oil, prepared wood flour and other substances, earthen are partly filled with plaster of paris and cement, so that they solidify after use, which is said to be how they can be deposited. Take peat and absorbent soils, for example. 30-50 / Ό heating oil EL on, rubber powder more. The prices are very different, are between DM 1-3 / kg and are more expensive the better the performance, although some synthetic resins with a porous structure are usually even more expensive.
In connection with the regeneration of used oil bleaching earth (Main process), in which the cost recovery through regenerated soil of high activity and the recovery of light reraffinate can be achieved, the soil to be separated after repeated regeneration should be used for further use are fed. If necessary, this could even be done for the first time Oil-extracted soil can be used for this purpose · The examination of whether the extracted soil contains oil binders appeared to be promising of sufficient suction power, since bleaching activity is no longer important here. In the case of success an oil absorption of 40-50% would be completely sufficient and inexpensive should be well below DKK 1, - / kg including the manufacturing costs. One would be with the producer price for Fresh earth Dft 0.40 / kg already very satisfied, because with it too the waste could contribute to the cost recovery of the regeneration in order to improve the economy of the regeneration. Relatively simple investigations had to show whether this waste bleaching earth should be prepared for the binder task.

For this purpose, a calcareous earth extracted cold (at room temperature) with white spirit (first extraction) was used, which had been dried in a drying cabinet to 1 ^ ro 0 J. First, a robe of 5 g was poured onto the surface in a two-quarters glass beaker filled with tap water, which floated for about three minutes and then sank below.
A second beaker of 500 ml was now filled 2/3 hocii with tap water and then 3 ml of rieizöl EL were poured in, which formed an upper layer. Then 4 g of soil was sprinkled on. The earth's eyeing a heating oil to form encrusted islands quickly. After about 6 minutes, large droplets of earth began to form, which sank one after the other to the bottom of the beaker. However, you could never fish out with a sieve. So this earth had the properties of the oil sink product.
Versuch 2: Experiment 2 :
Here an attempt was made to extend the swimming time by adding 10 i'o fine cork flour to the soil from experiment 1. After thorough mixing, tests were carried out in a similar way to experiment 1: The 3 ml of heating oil were quickly sucked up again by 4 g of earth and the swimming time was increased to about 6 times, after which, however, about 1/4 of the earth sank. After all, this time is already sufficient to skim off the absorbed oil from the surface of calm water. Even better results were obtained when adding 10 yo of buoyant rubber powder, which itself also absorbs oil.

Versuch 5:Experiment 5:
A soil from the newer farm was used for this, ' which did not contain hydrated lime. After the - ^ aIt extraction of the Oil this earth was dried in a drying cabinet up to 200 g. In the absorption test as under 1 with heating oil EL, this soil showed a swimming time of around 13 minutes,
Experiments show that the cold-extracted, burned-out fuller's earth, which still contains kiss and oil resin, after sufficient drying with the exclusion of oxidation provides an oil-sink type oil binder that can absorb over 40% of its own weight on ileizöl EL and that by adding suitable floats open, depending on the price between cu. 10-20> o, a sufficiently long floating oil binder is available to be able to skim off the absorbed oil on water surfaces. However, it has thus been proven that the waste earth, after this simple post-treatment, which takes place in any case during the main regeneration, can provide a useful C] binder for EL heating oil and similar oils. A thermal caching treatment over 200 ° with the exclusion of oxidation is also possible without further ado, ins-I, miserable with the method in which the thermal handling Jung follows the cold-ground earth directly. Here it is easily possible to remove the earth from the Krexslauf in a fluidized bed with air and oxygen-free or ancem flauchi $ af3 at lower temperatures, aB below 300 C, to treat it in a suitable oil binder; ζon. JJo kc-nn also the waste ordinances still find a useful protein and make a contribution to the cost reduction of the - "Itöl- 'J ~ \ pi oherderegeneration.
