Die Erwärmung und Ventilation der Eisenbahncoupes soll dadurch erfolgen, dafs , erwärmte Luft während der Fahrt mechanisch in dieselben hineingetrieben wird. Zu diesem Zweck ist in einer besonderen, gegen Feuersgefahr ausreichend 2u schützenden Abtheilung des Gepäckwagens ein Lufterwärmungs-Apparat, dessen Einrichtung und Betrieb aus den Figuren 3 und 4 der Zeichnung hinreichend deutlich ersichtlich sein dürfte, aus Kupferblech hergestellt, seitlich angebracht. — Die zu erwärmende Luft wird durch einen Ventilator angesaugt und, nachdem sie in vorerwähntem Apparat auf entsprechende Temperatur gebracht worden, den einzelnen Wagen zugeführt. Zu diesem Zwecke befinden sich unter jedem Wagen, in gleicher Entfernung von der Längsachse, zwei Röhren α und b von ausreichender Weite, die durch doppelte Wandungen und sonstige Hülfsmittel gegen Abkühlung geschützt sind. Die über die Giebelwände hinausreichenden Theile müssen schlauchartig beweglich sein und mit den korrespondirenden des nächsten Wagens dicht zusammengeschraubt oder, wie dies beim letzten Personenwagen des Zuges nöthig ist, luftdicht geschlossen werden können, was ohne Schwierigkeit durch bekannte Vorrichtungen erfolgen kann. ·— Von jedem Rohr gehen zwei Stutzen in die einzelnen Coupe's, so dafs unter jedem Sitz sich zwei Ausströmungsöffhungen befinden. Durch einen einfachen, mit den Drosselklappen c in Verbindung stehenden Hebelmechanismus körinen die Insassen Erwärmung und Lufterneuerimg reguliren.The heating and ventilation of the railway coupes should be done by mechanically driving heated air into them while they are in motion.
