Glykole bzw. Glykoläther werden gewöhnlich als Oasis für hydrodynamische Flüssigkeiten verwendet.
Es wurde nun gefunden, daß sich die Eigenschaften dieser Produkte wesentlich verbessern lassen, wenn man hierzu Anhydroprodukte des Glycerins, deren Ester mit höheren Fettsäuren oder Oxyfettsäuren oder den Kondensationsprodukten dieser Anhydroprodukte oder ihrer Ester mit Alkylenoxyden in kleinen Mengen als schmierende und korrosionshindemde Zusätze zu hydrodynamischen Flüssigkeiten auf Basis von GIykolen und/oder Glykoläthern zusetzt. Dabei handelt es sich z. B. um Diglycerin oder Polyglycerine, gewonnen durch Abspaltung von Wasser aus 2 oder mehr Mol Glycerin, ferner Äther von Diglyeerin und Polyglycerinen mit niederen Alkoholen bzw. ihre Ester mit niederen einwertigen Säuren,= Äther von Polyglycerinen mit Alkylenoxyden, insbesondere Äthylenoxyd, Propylenoxyd, Butylenoxyd, sowie Ester von Polyglycerinen mit Oxycarbonsäuren, wie Milchsäure, Ricinolsäure, und deren Kondensationsprodukte mit Alkylenoxyden.
Die' erfindungsgemäß anzuwendenden Anhydroprodukte des Glycerins und ihre genannten Derivate enthalten von ihrer Herstellung her kleinste Mengen von Acrolein oder Polymerisations- und/oder Polykondensationsprodukte des Acroleins, und. es wird angenommen, daß die korrosionshiridernde Funktion (^Zusatzstoffe der Erfindung auf dieser Anwesenheit vofi Acrolein beruht. Außerdem haben die Zusatz-Stoffe eine wertvolle Funktion als Schmiermittel.
' Eine hydrodynamische Flüssigkeit auf Basis von Glykolen besitzt bis zur Verschweißüng im Vierkugelapparät eine Schmierfähigkeit,, von 240. bis 260 kg Belastung. Setzt man dieser Flüssigkeit 2 °/0 Diglycerin zu, so wird ihre Schmierfähigkeit auf 320 bis 340 kg Belastung gesteigert. Während die Korrosionswerte der kein Diglycerin enthaltenden Flüssigkeit bei den besonders interessierenden Werkstoffen Weißblech, Gußeisen, Kupfer und Aluminium gerade noch technisch tragbar sind, führt der Zusatz von 2% Diglycerin zu einer erheblichen Absenkung der Korrosionswerte. Diese beachtlichen Verbesserungen lassen sich bereits mit den Anhydroprodukten des technischen Glycerins erreichen, die noch kleine Anteile an aldehydischen und sauren Verunreinigungen sowie den zu ihrer Herstellung verwendeten Katalysator enthalten. Die Zusätze der Erfindung haben daher auch noch den Vorteil besonderer Wirtschaftlichkeit.
Vom analogen Anhydroprodukt des Äthylenglykols, dem Diäthylenglykol, wußte man nur, daß es wenig schmierend wirkt und ziemlich flüchtig j,st;. Es war Verwendung von Anhydroprodukten
des Glycerins bzw. dessen Derivate
in hydrodynamischen Flüssigkeiten

daher1 nicht vorauszusehen, daß die Anhydroprodukte des technischen Glycerins die hydrodynamischen Flüssigkeiten auf Basis von Glykolen und Glykolderivaten so entscheidend zu verbessern vermögen. Die hydrodynamisqhen. Flüssigkeiten der; Erfindung zeichnen sich auch durch günstiges Verhalten iri bezug auf Verdampfung aus.
Kondensationsprodukte des Diglycerins, wie sie durch Anlagerung von 50 bis 100 Mol Propylenoxyd erhalten werden, verleihen den mit ihnen versetzten hydrodynamischen Flüssigkeiten eine sehr flache Temperatur- und Viskositätskurve.
Veresterungsprodukte von Diglycerin oder Polyglycerinen mit Oxycarbonsäuren, beispielsweise Ricinolsäure, die gegebenenfalls anschließend noch mit beispielsweise ihrem eineinhalbfachen Gewicht von
Äthylenoxyd kondensiert werden können, führen ebenfalls zu einer Steigerung der Schmierfähigkeit.
Die hydrodynamischen Flüssigkeiten der Erfindung
sind in erster Linie als Füllung für Getriebe und Flüssigkeitskupplungen bestimmt. Sie eignen sich aber auch als Betriebsflüssigkeiten für hydraulische Pressen, Hebezeuge, Türschließer, Stoßdämpfer, Rohrrückläufe.

Korrosionsverhalten. In diesem und den folgenden Beispielen werden Korrosionsteste nach SAE 70 R 3 durchgeführt. Die zusammengeschraubten Metallplättchen werden 5 Tage bei 1000C gehalten; Zu- bzw. Abnahme ist in Milligramm pro Quadratzentimeter Oberfläche angegeben.

  1. Patentanspruch:
    Verwendung von Anhydroprodukten des Glycerins, deren Estern mit höheren Fettsäuren oder Oxyfettsäuren oder den Kondensationsprodukten dieser Anhydroprodukte oder ihrer Ester mit Alkylenoxyden in kleinen Mengen als schmierende und korrosionshmdernde Zusätze zu hydrodynamischen Flüssigkeiten auf Basis von Glykolen und/oder Glykoläthern.
