Description
Device for holding a larger mirror on one, on one Motor vehicle-mounted rearview mirror The invention relates to a device for holding a larger mirror on one attached to a motor vehicle Rearview mirror, with the rearview mirror overlapping, mutually displaceable and resiliently arranged upper and lower clamping parts.
The conventional interior rear-view mirrors in motor vehicles are disadvantageous in that with their help, even with the aid of the external rear-view mirror, it is not possible to see the rear lane completely. This is especially true if you want to track a motor vehicle about to overtake. This is where the so-called blind spot occurs, i.e. H. an area not covered by any of these rearview mirrors. The overtaking vehicle disappears from view for a short time. If you do not constantly monitor the rear lane, which is not always possible, the driver does not know anything, and if he then veers out of the left lane and starts to overtake, he will collide with the other vehicle. Such dangerous moments arise in particular on the motorway, where the differences in speed are sometimes small, so that the vehicle about to overtake may stay in the blind spot for a relatively long time.
It has already been proposed to improve the vehicle rearview mirror by using large mirror surfaces. Basically, this creates more costs that the buyer does not want to take on or does not want to take on immediately. It has therefore remained to provide the motor vehicles with the usual, small interior rearview mirror. It has also been proposed to retrofit the small rearview mirror with enlarged mirror surfaces, so-called panorama mirrors, which are clamped to the interior rearview mirror in a provisional manner with the aid of rubber bands or spiral springs. This primitive attachment is disadvantageous in that the clamped-on panoramic mirror surface can easily move. It is not always possible to readjust the mirror continuously. The known holder is therefore not in a position to constantly ensure a large field. Thus, there is still a real need to ensure the enlargement of the field of vision, which is important for traffic safety, with the aid of a holding device which allows the additional mirror glass to be clamped properly but also at low cost. It must be possible to retrofit a large number of motor vehicles in traffic with the enlarged mirror surface.
A plug-on cover cap for rearview mirrors (German utility model 1 615 332) with a special holding device is already known, with vertically movable hinge parts being present in separate hinge boxes and held by tension springs. However, these movable hinge parts do not serve as clamping parts, but rather act as an articulated holder for the visor; a rail-shaped frame part, the recesses of which interact in an articulated manner with the hinge parts, takes care of the reception of the visor. It is not suggested here to mount a large mirror pane in a rigid and vibration-free manner.
In principle it is also known, a large mirror pane (Panorama mirror) by means of a bracket to an existing rear-view mirror to be fixed (USA. Patent 3,063,344). Here, however, the arrangement is such that the retaining springs are horizontal. With this training there is always the risk that vibrations transmitted by road bumps or the like will impair the stable position of the panoramic mirror. In this embodiment, too, the actual holder of the mirror glass is not separated from those parts which are used to clamp this large mirror onto the existing rearview mirror. Now the panorama mirror is relatively large and sensitive and still has to sit perfectly in the holder provided, without tilting or changing its position after shocks and certainly not rattling. These requirements are not met in the known embodiment, since the guides receiving the mirror glass still have to have a sufficient tolerance to allow the glass to slide in them. However, this results after some time in a loose fit. In a similar holding device (USA. Patent 2,605,676) to use a special retaining profile, in which once the mirror edge is clamped, while the other, extended end with the aid of also extending horizontally Springs on the existing rearview mirror is clamped. In comparison to the large panoramic mirror pane, this is about clamping small wings to the left and right of the existing mirror. Vibrations transmitted by road bumps or the like would impair the stable position of a large panoramic mirror. In addition, the retaining springs and the not insensitive telescopic guides, which are regarded as essential adjustment elements, are located directly on the outside and unprotected, so that such parts of the retaining device can be damaged or bent during packaging and transport, but also when attaching a panoramic mirror.
To avoid the above disadvantages, such a device for holding a larger mirror on one attached to a motor vehicle Rearview mirror proposed that one of the two by vertically arranged springs interconnected clamping parts at the same time carrying the larger mirror Holding plate is attached. This will actually make the sensitive panorama mirror held so securely that a stable fit is given and is also maintained. This seat can practically not be changed by road bumps and the like. The moving parts to be protected are on the one hand by the mirror, on the other hand shielded by the retaining plate itself, so that a closed, safe training whose function is achieved neither by packaging, transport nor by putting the panorama mirror on top of the existing rearview mirror is in question is provided. Fastening is faster.
An embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to the drawing, which schematically shows exemplary embodiments. 1 shows a side view, partly in section, of a holding device in which only one spring clip can be displaced vertically to the other, and FIG. 2 is an end view of FIG . 1 showing the retainer plate and slots for moving a slider.
Fig. 1 und 2). One of a single part, e.g. B. made of sheet metal, existing holding plate 10 holds the mirror glass 3 (see. Fig. 1 and 2). This plate is punched out so that vertically extending guide slots 11 and 11 ' are produced. Vertically adjustable parts such as shoulder rivets 12 are provided in the slots. The rivet shank extends through not only the holding plate 10 but also the part of a clamping bracket 14 which forms a slide 13. The clamping bracket 14 can be narrower than the width of the plate 10 , or the latter is provided with a slot so that the bracket can be moved vertically. For this purpose, the head of the rivet 12 is adjusted upwards or downwards. In addition, the slide 13 can be provided with a hook 15, the holding plate 10 at the opposite end with a second hook 16 , and a tension spring 17 is suspended in the hook. In addition, the holding plate 10 contains the bezels for the mirror glass 3. The lower clamping bracket IV can be made from one piece with the holding plate 10 .
It can now be seen that to place the panoramic mirror glass 3 on the frame of the interior rearview mirror, one only has to push the upper clamping bracket 14 upwards. If this is then released, the tension spring 17 pulls the bracket firmly against the frame, and the mirror glass is held. This use of two flat metal sheets (holding plate, slider) that can be moved against each other makes it easy to attach, regardless of the size of the mirror frame.
In addition, the rear holding plate 10 can be provided with rubber buffers, which protrude equally far, so that the mirror holder is flat, elastic and adheres well to the mirror glass of the interior mirror located in the frame.
