Eine große Mischwirkung kommt also nicht zustande, weshalb diese Maschinen auch für eine sogenannte Intensiv-Mischung nicht zu gebrauchen sind. Bei einem Mischer mit drei Mischsternen greift somit Stern 1 in Stern 2 und Stern 2 in Stern 3. Dadurch wird erreicht, daß alle Misch- sterne im Gegenstrom zum Teller und auch unter sich im Gegenstrom arbeiten. Es entsteht also nicht nur ein einfacher, sondern ein mehrfacher und kettenartiger Gegenstrom mit einer hohen, d. h. intensiven Mischwirkung.
