Damit wird erreicht, daß die an der jeweiligen Berührungsstelle mit dem Zylinder abgeschleuderten Schmutz- und Waschmittelteilchen der jeweils benachbarten Bürstwalze zugeschleudert werden und nicht in Richtung auf die Zylindermantelfläche austreten können. Die Anordnung einer Mehrzahl von Abstreifern an den sich gegenüberliegenden Mantelflächen der Bürstwalzen ergibt ferner ein folgerichtiges und systematisches Weiterfördern der abgeschleuderten Teilchen in Richtung auf die Wandung des die Walzen umschließenden Gehäuses, so daß keine Verschmutzung des Zylinderkanals eintreten kann. Ein weiterer Vorteil der erfindungsgemäßen Anordnung ist noch darin zu sehen, daß das durch die hohle Achse der Bürstwalze zugeführte Waschmittel den von den Borsten angenommenen Schmutz radial nach außen aus der Bürste herausspült.
