Trotz niedriger Bauhöhe lässt sich ein recht großer Öffnungshub der Fronthaube bis zum Fangen durch den Zusatzverschluss erreichen, der ca. dreimal so groß gemacht werden kann wie der mit einem Fanghaken erreichbare Öffnungshub. Der Fangweg des Zusatzverschlusses ist ausschließlich durch den Schwenkweg der Drehfalle des Zusatzverschlusses bestimmt, den die Drehfalle nach Entsperren des Hauptverschlusses bis zu ihrem Anschlag an der ihr zugeordneten Sperrklinke zurücklegen kann. Dieser Schwenkweg kann konstruktiv sehr einfach verringert oder vergrößert und dadurch der vorgegebene Öffnungshub der Fronthaube festgelegt werden, ohne dass dies zu einer größeren Bauhöhe der Verriegelungsvorrichtung führt.
