Abstract
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine schnell aushärtende UV Inkjet Tinte auf Basis von hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylaten. Die erfindungsgemäße Tinte ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie die folgenden Komponenten enthält: 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylats mit einer Funktionalität im Bereich von 6 bis 30, 1 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-% mindestens eines Reaktivverdünners, 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines radikalischen Photoinitiators des Norrish I Typs, 30 Gew.-% bis 70 Gew.-% mindestens eines multifunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers und 0 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-% mindestens eines monofunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner ein Verfahren zum Tintenstrahldrucken, in dessen Rahmen die erfindungsgemäße Tinte verwendet wird.

Die erfindungsgemäße Tinte ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie die folgenden Komponenten enthält: 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylats mit einer Funktionalität im Bereich von 6 bis 30, 1 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-% mindestens eines Reaktivverdünners, 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines radikalischen Photoinitiators des Norrish I Typs, 30 Gew.-% bis 70 Gew.-% mindestens eines multifunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers und 0 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-% mindestens eines monofunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner ein Verfahren zum Tintenstrahldrucken, in dessen Rahmen die erfindungsgemäße Tinte verwendet wird.
- Mittels UV-Strahlung aushärtbare Tinten bestehen im Allgemeinen aus monomeren und oligomeren Materialien, Pigmenten, Initiatoren und Additiven und gegebenenfalls einer kleinen Menge Lösungsmittel.
- Hochverzweigte bzw. hyperverzweigte Polymere, die ungesättigte Endgruppen aufweisen, stellen in Kombination mit geeigneten mono-, di- und polyfunktionellen Acrylaten wertvolle Ausgangsmaterialien für Systeme dar, wie mittels ultraviolettem Licht (UV) vernetzbare Anstriche, Druckfarben und Lacke, die zumeist eine vergleichsweise hohe Viskosität aufweisen, siehe beispielsweise J. A. Klang, Radiation-Curable Hyperbranched Polyester Acrylates, Paint and Coatings Industry, 2007. UV-vernetzbare Schichten dieser Art sind beispielsweise beschrieben in der
EP 1 375 569 A1 . In diesem Dokument werden hochverzweigte Polyesteracrylate in UV aushärtbaren Schichten verwendet. - Aufgrund der großen Anzahl terminaler Acrylatgruppen kann erwartet werden, dass die hochverzweigten Polymere, die mittels UV vernetzbar sind, eine hohe Vernetzungsrate zeigen. Auch aufgrund ihrer höheren Molekulargewichte im Vergleich zu den verfügbaren di- bis hexafunktionellen Acrylaten zeigen diese weniger Schrumpfung nach dem Vernetzen und zeigen daher eine potentiell bessere Adhäsion an Substraten. Diese Eigenschaften werden beispielsweise in der
US 7,365,105 B2 beschrieben. Auch werden in dieser Druckschrift Tinten offenbart, die mehr als 30 Gew.-% Acrylate mit Funktionalitäten von größer als 2 enthalten, unter anderem Tinten mit einem Gehalt von bis zu 9 Gew.-% an hochverzweigtem Polyesteracrylat. - Hochverzweigte Polyester haben zudem eine niedrigere Viskosität als lineare Polyester, die ähnliche strukturelle Elemente und Molekulargewichte aufweisen, was bedeutet, dass sie auch als reaktive Verdünnungsmittel für hochviskose Epoxyacrylate und lineare Polyesteracrylate verwendet werden können. Beispiele, die den viskositätsreduzierenden Effekt hochverzweigter Polyester, die terminale Acrylatgruppen aufweisen, zeigen, sind in den Dokumenten
WO 00/77070 A1 EP 1 338 610 A1 offenbart. - In der Druckschrift
US 2011/0045 199 A1 - Die aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Tinten haben jedoch nach wie vor erhebliche Nachteile, so fehlt es noch immer an Hochleistungstintenstrahldrucktinten, die eine schnelle Härtungsgeschwindigkeit und gute Haftung auf einem breiten Spektrum von Substraten aufweisen und zudem eine gute Beständigkeit und eine gute Flexibilität zeigen.
- Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung ist es daher eine UV aushärtbare Tinte auf Basis von hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylaten bereitzustellen, die niedrig viskos ist, schnell aushärtet, ein geringes Migrationspotential der Bestandteile aufweist und bei hohen Druckgeschwindigkeiten hinreichend aushärtbar ist. Die Tintenfilme sollten zudem geruchsneutral sein und hinreichend gute Eigenschaften aufweisen, wie Adhäsion, Kratzfestigkeit und Lösungsmittelbeständigkeit.
- Gelöst wird diese Aufgabe durch eine mittels UV aushärtbare Tinte umfassend:
1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 5 Gew.-% bis 12 Gew.-%, mindestens eines hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylats mit einer Funktionalität im Bereich von 6 bis 30, bevorzugt im Bereich von 10 bis 25, besonders bevorzugt im Bereich von 12 bis 20,
1 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 5 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines Reaktivverdünners,
1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 7 Gew.-% bis 17 Gew.-% mindestens eines radikalischen Photoinitiators des Norrish I Typs,
30 Gew.-% bis 70 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 35 Gew.-% bis 60 Gew.-% mindestens eines multifunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers und
0 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 5 Gew.-% bis 15 Gew.-%, alternativ bevorzugt 0 Gew.-% bis 1 Gew.-% mindestens eines monofunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers. - Im Rahmen der Erfindung wurde herausgefunden, dass die vorstehend definierten Tinten eine für Tintenstrahldruckanwendungen geeignete Viskosität aufweisen, rasch aushärten und bei hohen Druckgeschwindigkeiten hinreichend aushärtbar sind. Die Bestandteile der Tinte weisen zudem ein geringes Migrationspotential auf. Die Tintenfilme weisen zudem hinreichend gute Eigenschaften auf wie Adhäsion, Kratzfestigkeit und Lösungsmittelbeständigkeit. Ein weiterer Vorteil der vorstehend definierten Tinte besteht darin, dass diese aufgrund der Verwendung von hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylaten weitgehend geruchsneutral sind.
- Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Erfindung beziehen sich die Angaben in Gew.-% jeweils auf die gesamte Tintenzusammensetzung. „Umfassend bzw. Enthaltend mindestens” bedeutet im Rahmen der vorliegenden Erfindung, dass in der Tinte mindestens eine Komponente, gegebenenfalls aber auch mehrere Komponenten und somit beispielsweise eine Mischung aus 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 oder 7 Komponenten enthalten ist. Eine „Mischung mehrerer” bedeutet im Rahmen der vorliegenden Erfindung, dass in der Tinte mehrere, also beispielsweise 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 oder 7 der angegebenen Komponenten enthalten sein können. Der in der vorliegenden Patentanmeldung benutzte Begriff „UV” ist die Abkürzung für Ultraviolettstrahlung.
- Die erfindungsgemäße Tinte enthält wenigstens ein hochverzweigtes Polyesteracrylat in einer Menge von 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 5 Gew.-% bis 12 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die gesamte Tintenzusammensetzung. Hochverzweigte Polymere sind Bezeichnungen für polymere Strukturen, die sich durch eine verzweigte Struktur und eine hohe Funktionalität auszeichnen. Die hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylate bzw. Polyesteracrylatpolymere sind dabei sowohl molekular wie strukturell uneinheitlich und weisen Äste unterschiedlicher Länge und Verzweigung auf. Geeignete hochverzweigte Polyesteracrylate sind dem Fachmann bekannt. Diese sind beispielsweise unter den Markennamen Sartomer CN2300®, Sartomer CN2301®, Sartomer CN2302®, Sartomer CN2303®, Sartomer CN2304®, Sartomer CN2305® kommerziell erhältlich.
- Die verwendeten hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylate weisen im Regelfalle im Mittel mindestens 6 funktionelle Gruppen und somit 6 Acrylatgruppen als funktionelle Gruppen auf. Die Zahl der funktionellen Gruppen ist dabei prinzipiell nicht nach oben beschränkt. Allerdings weisen Produkte mit einer zu hohen Anzahl von funktionellen Gruppen häufig unerwünschte Eigenschaften auf, wie beispielsweise schlechte Löslichkeit oder eine sehr hohe Viskosität. Daher weisen die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten hochverzweigten Polymere im Regelfalle nicht mehr als im Mittel 30 funktionelle Gruppen auf. Bevorzugt weisen die hochverzweigten Polymere 6 bis 20 und besonders bevorzugt 12 bis 20 funktionelle Gruppen auf. Die Funktionalität der verwendeten hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylate liegt daher allgemein im Bereich von 6 bis 30, bevorzugt im Bereich von 6 bis 20, besonders bevorzugt im Bereich von 12 bis 20.
- Die erfindungsgemäße Tinte enthält allgemein 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylats mit einer Funktionalität im Bereich von 6 bis 30, 30 Gew.-% bis 70 Gew.-% mindestens eines multifunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers, und 0 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-% mindestens eines monofunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers. Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Erfindung wurde nämlich gefunden, dass die gemeinsame Verwendung dieser drei Komponenten in den angegebenen Mengen eine Tinte mit niedriger Viskosität und guten Härtungsgeschwindigkeiten liefert. Derartige Tinten sind insbesondere für das Tintenstrahldrucken geeignet und liefern ebenfalls annehmbare Eigenschaften für den Endverbraucher, wie gutes Härten, Adhäsion und chemische Beständigkeit.
- Gemäß einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausführungsform enthält die Tinte das mindestens eine monofunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer in einer Menge von 5 Gew.-% bis 15 Gew.-%. Gemäß einer alternativen bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist die erfindungsgemäße Tinte frei von monofunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomeren, obwohl geringe Mengen im Bereich von weniger als 1,0 Gew.-% toleriert werden können.
- Unter multifunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomeren sind gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung Verbindungen zu verstehen, bei denen mehrere Acrylatgruppen an ein Grundmolekül gebunden sind. Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist das multifunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus (Meth)acrylsäureestern von alpha,omega-diolen wie 1,4-Butandioldimethacrylat, 1,6-Hexandioldiacrylat, 1,6-Hexandioldimethacrylat, 1,10-Decandioldiacrylat, 1,10-Decandioldimethacrylat, 1,12-Dodecandioldiacrylat, 1,12-Dodecandioldimethacrylat sowie deren ethoxylierten und propoxylierten Derivaten wie ethoxyliertem 1,6-Hexandioldiacrylat und propoxyliertem 1,6 Hexandioldiacrylat, (Meth)acrylsäureester von Ethylenglykol, Propyleneglykol und deren Oligomere und Polymere wie 1,2-Ethylenglykoldiacrylat, 1,2-Ethylenglykoldimethacrylat, Diethylenglykoldimethacrylat, Diethylenglykoldiacrylat, Triethylenglykoldiacrylat, Triethylenglykoldimethacrylat, Tetraethylenglykoldiacrylat, Polyethylenglykol-200-diacrylat, Polyethylenglykol-300-diacrylat, Polyethylenglykol-400-diacrylat, Propylenglykoldiacrylat, Propylenglykoldimethacrylat, Dipropylenglykoldiacrylat (Sartomer SR508®), Tripropylenglykoldiacrylat, Tripropylenglykoltriacrylat, 3-Methyl-1,5-Pentandioldiacrylat, Neopentylglykoldiacrylat, ethoxyliertem Neopentylglykoldiacrylat, propoxyliertem Neopentylglykoldiacrylat (Sartomer SR 9003®), Trimethylolpropantriacrylat, Trimethylolpropantrimethacrylat, ethoxyliertem und propoxyliertem Trimethylolpropantriacrylat, Ditrimethylolpropantetraacrylat, Glycerolpropoxylattriacrylat, Glycerolethoxylattriacrylat, Pentaerythritoltriacrylat, Pentaerythritoltetraacrylat, Pentaerythritoltetramethacrylat, Dipentaerythritolpentaacrylat, Dipentaerythritolhexaacrylat (Rahn Miramer® M600), ethoxyliertem Pentaerythritoltetraacrylat, tris(2-Hydroxyethyl) Isocyanurattriacrylat, Esterdioldiacrylat, Tricyclodecandimethanoldiacrylat und dergleichen und Gemischen davon.
- Gemäß einer mehr bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist das multifunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus 1,6-Hexandioldiacrylat, 1,10-Decandioldiacrylat, ethoxyliertem 1,6-Hexandioldiacrylat, Polyethylenglykol 200 diacrylat, Dipropylenglykoldiacrylat (Sartomer SR508®), Tripropylenglykoldiacrylat, 3-Methl-1,5-Pentandioldiacrylat, propoxyliertem Neopentylglykoldiacrylat (Sartomer SR 9003®), Trimethylolpropantriacrylat, ethoxyliertem und propoxyliertem Trimethylolpropantriacrylat, Glycerolpropoxylattriacrylat, Glycerolethoxylattriacrylat, Pentaerythritoltetraacrylat, Dipentaerythritolpentaacrylat, Dipentaerythritolhexaacrylat (Rahn Miramer® M600), ethoxyliertem Pentaerythritoltetraacrylat und Gemischen davon.
- Das mindestens eine multifunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer ist in der Tinte allgemein in einer Menge von 30 Gew.-% bis 70 Gew.-%, bevorzugt in einer Menge von 35 Gew.-% bis 60 Gew.-%, enthalten.
- Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist das monofunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Butylacrylat, Octylacrylat, Octylmethacrylat, Laurylacrylat, Laurylmethacrylat, Isodecylacrylat, Isodecylmethacrylat, Myristylacrylat, Decylacrylat, Stearylacrylat, Behenylacrylat, Isooctylacrylat, Isooctylmethacrylat, Tridecylacrylat, 2-Propylheptylacrylat, Isobornylacrylat, Isobornylmethacrylat, Tertiärbutylcyclohexylacrylat, Cyclohexandimethanoldiacrylat, Caprolactonacrylat, 2-Phenoxyethylacrylat, 2-(2-Ethoxyethoxy)ethylacrylat, Tetrahydrofurfurylacrylat, ethoxyliertem Phenoxyacrylat, 3,3,5-Trimethylcyclohexanolacrylat, Polycaprolactonacrylat, cyclischem Trimethylolpropanformalacrylat, ethoxyliertem 4-Nonylphenylacrylat, Dihydrodicyclopentadienylacrylat und dergleichen, und Gemischen davon.
- Gemäß einer mehr bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist das monofunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Laurylacrylat, Isodecylacrylat, Myristylacrylat, Isobornylacrylat, Tertiärbutylcyclohexylacrylat, 2-Phenoxyethylacrylat, 2-(2-Ethoxyethoxy)ethylacrylat, cyclischem Trimethylolpropanformalacrylat und dergleichen und Gemischen davon.
- Gemäß einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform enthält die erfindungsgemäße Tinte als monofunktionelles (Meth)acrylat-Monomer das Laurylacrylat, Myristylacrylat und/oder das 2-Phenoxyethylacrylat in einer Menge von 10 Gew.-%.
- Das mindestens eine monofunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer ist in der Tinte allgemein in einer Menge von 0 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-%, bevorzugt in einer Menge von 5 Gew.-% bis 15 Gew.-%, alternativ bevorzugt in einer Menge von 0 bis 1 Gew.-%, enthalten.
- Die erfindungsgemäße Tinte enthält mindestens einen Reaktivverdünner in einer Menge von 1 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 5 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die gesamte Tintenzusammensetzung. Der Reaktivverdünner ist gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus vinylgruppenhaltigen Monomeren, insbesondere N-Vinylverbindungen wie N-Vinylpyrrolidon, N-Vinylcaprolactam, N-Vinylformamid und Vinylethern, wie Ethyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Butyl-, Isobutyl-, tert.-Butyl-, Amyl-, 2-Ethylhexyl-, Dodecyl-, Octadecyl- und Cyclohexylvinylether, Ethylenglykolmono- und -divinylether, Di-, Tri- und Tetraethylenglykolmono- und -divinylether, Propylenglykoldivinylether, Polyethylenglykoldivinylether, Ethylenglykolbutylvinylether, Triethylenglykolmethylvinylether, Polyethylenglykolmethylvinylether, Butandiolmono- und -divinylether, Hexandiolmono- und -divinylether, Cyclohexandimethanolmono- und -divinylether, Trimethylolpropantrivinylether, Aminopropylvinylether, Diethylaminoethylvinylether und Polytetrahydrofurandivinylether, Vinylestern, wie Vinylacetat, -propionat, -stearat und -laurat und Vinylaromaten, wie Vinyltoluol, Styrol, 2- und 4-Butylstyrol und 4-Decylstyrol, 1,4-Cyclohexandimethanoldivinylether und dergleichen und Gemischen davon.
- Gemäß einer mehr bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist der Reaktivverdünner ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Ethylenglykoldivinylether, Diethylenglykoldivinylether, Triethylenglykoldivinylether, Propylenglykoldivinylether, 1,4-Cyclohexandimethanoldivinylether und n-Butandioldivinylether und Gemischen davon. Gemäß einer besonders bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist der Reaktivverdünner ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Diethylenglykoldivinylether, Triethylenglykoldivinylether und n-Butandioldivinylether, 1,4 Cyclohexandimethanoldivinylether.
- Gemäß einer weiter bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist N-Vinylcaprolactam in der erfindungsgemäßen Tinte nicht enthalten. Vorteilhafterweise wird durch die Verwendung wenigstens eines Reaktivverdünners ausgewählt aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Ethylenglykoldivinylether, Diethylenglykoldivinylether, Triethylenglykoldivinylether, Propylenglykoldivinylether und n-Butandioldivinylether und Gemischen dieser, insbesondere durch die Verwendung des Triethylenglykoldivinylethers als Reaktivverdünner, eine Tinte erhalten, die aus gesundheitlichen Gesichtspunkten erheblich unbedenklicher ist, als die aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Tinten, die N-Vinylcaprolactam als Reaktivverdünner enthalten.
- Zusätzlich zu den vorstehend beschriebenen Komponenten enthält die erfindungsgemäße Tinte mindestens einen radikalischen Photoinitiator des Norrish I Typs, der unter Bestrahlung mit ultraviolettem Licht die Polymerisation der in der Tinte enthaltenen polymerisierbaren Verbindungen, wie der (Meth)acrylatkomponente(n) und dem mindestens einen Divinylether initiiert. Die erfindungsgemäß herangezogenen Initiatoren sind insbesondere UV-Initiatoren, die im üblichen chemischen Sinne UV-initiierte Reaktionen anderer Reaktanten, insbesondere der Acrylate, ermöglichen, auslösen und/oder beschleunigen. Erfindungsgemäß sind die herangezogenen Initiatoren solche des Norrish I Typs, die nach einer α-Spaltung in Radikale zerfallen.
- Beispiele für Photoinitiatoren des Norrish I Typs sind 2-Benzyl-2-dimethylamino-1-(4-morpholino-phenyl)-butanon-1 (Irgacure® 369 bzw. Genocure® BDMM), 2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoyl-diphenyl-phosphinoxid (Irgacure® TPO), 2-Hydroxy-1-{4-[4-(2-hydroxy-2-methyl-propionyl)-benzyl]-phenyl}-2-methyl-propan-1-on (Irgacure® 127), 1-Hydroxycyclohexyl-phenyl-keton (Irgacure® 184, Doublecure® 184), Phenylbis-2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl-phosphinoxid (Irgacure® 819), 2-Dimethylamino-2-(4-methyl-benzyl)-1-(4-morpholin-4-yl-phenyl)-butan-1-on (Irgacure® 379), 2-Hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenyl-propan-1-on (Darocur® 1173, Genocure® DHMA), 2-Hydroxy-2-methylpropiophenon (Double Cure® 173), 2,2-Dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenon (Irgacure® 651), 2-Methyl-1-[4-(methylothio)phenyl]-2-morpholinopropan-1-on (Irgacure® 907 bzw. Genocure® PMP) 2,2-Dimethoxy-1,2-diphenylethan-1-on (Genocure® BDK), Methylbenzoylformat (Genocure® MBF), 2-Hydroxy-4'-hydroxyethoxy-2-methylpropiophenon (Irgacure 2959), 2-Hydroxy-4'-methoxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-acetophenon, 2,2-Diethoxyacetophenon und 2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoylphenylphosphinsäureethylester (Irgacure® TPO-L). [Bitte die angegebenen Photoinitiatoren überprüfen]
- Bevorzugt ist der Photoinitiatoren des Norrish I Typs ausgewählt aus 2-Benzyl-2-dimethylamino-1-(4-morpholino-phenyl)-butanon-1 (Irgacure® 369), 2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoyl-diphenyl-phosphinoxid (Irgacure® TPO), 2-Hydroxy-1-{4-[4-(2-hydroxy-2-methyl-propionyl)-benzyl]-phenyl}-2-methyl-propan-1-on (Irgacure® 127), 1-Hydroxycyclohexyl-phenyl-keton (Irgacure® 184), Phenylbis-2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl-phosphinoxid (Irgacure® 819), 2-Dimethylamino-2-(4-methyl-benzyl)-1-(4-morpholin-4-yl-phenyl)-butan-1-on (Irgacure® 379). Methylbenzoyl format (Genocure® MBF), 2-Hydroxy-4'-hydroxyethoxy-2-methylpropiophenon (Irgacure® 2959) und 2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoylphenylphosphinsäureethylester (Irgacure® TPO-L).
- Allgemein liegt der Photoinitiator in einer Menge von 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-%, bevorzugt in einer Menge von 7 Gew.-% bis 17 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die gesamte erfindungsgemäße Tinte vor. Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung enthält die erfindungsgemäße Tinte keinen kationischen Photoinitiator.
- Bei den erfindungsgemäßen Tinten kann es sich beispielsweise um mit Hilfe des Inkjet-Verfahrens verdruckbare Klarlacke handeln. In diesem Falle sind die Tinten üblicherweise frei von Farbmitteln bzw. Pigmenten.
- Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Erfindung enthält die erfindungsgemäße Tinte weiterhin mindestens ein Farbmittel. Als Farbmittel kommen Farbstoffe in Frage, bevorzugt jedoch werden Pigmente oder eine Kombination von Pigmenten. Es können organische und/oder anorganische Pigmente verwendet werden, die in Form von Pigmentdispersionen kommerziell erhältlich sind. Eine Auswahl des für die erfindungsgemäße Tinte geeigneten Farbmittels kann ein Fachmann aufgrund seines allgemeinen Fachwissens treffen.
- Die Teilchengröße der Pigmentteilchen soll weniger als 10 μm, vorzugsweise weniger als 3 μm und ganz besonders bevorzugt weniger als 1 μm betragen. Die mittlere Teilchengröße der Pigmentteilchen liegt vorzugsweise zwischen 0,05 und 0,5 μm.
- Der Gesamtanteil des Farbmittels, das gemäß dieser Ausführungsform der Erfindung in der Tinte enthalten ist, beträgt allgemein 0,5 Gew.-% bis 15 Gew.-%, bevorzugt 1 Gew.-% bis 15 Gew.-%, bezogen auf die Tinte.
- Gemäß einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist das Farbmittel eine Pigmentdispersion von 25 Gew.-% Pigment in PONPGDA (RJA Dispersions D3420-064), das im Bereich von 10 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-%, besonders bevorzugt 14 Gew.-%, jeweils bezogen auf die Tinte, enthalten ist.
- Andere Komponenten von Arten, die im Stand der Technik bekannt sind, können in der Tinte vorliegen, um die Eigenschaften oder das Leistungsverhalten zu verbessern. Diese Komponenten sind dem Fachmann bekannt und können beispielsweise Oberflächenadditive, wie BYK UV-3505, Tenside, Entschäumer, Dispergiermittel, Synergiemittel für den Photoinitiator, Stabilisatoren, wie BASF Irgastab® UV25, Geruchsstoffe, Fließ- oder Gleithilfsstoffe, Biozide und Identifikationstracer sein. Diese weiteren Komponenten sind allgemein in einer Gesamtmenge von etwa 0,25 Gew.-% bis 5 Gew.-% in der erfindungsgemäßen Tinte enthalten.
- Die Viskosität der Tinte bei einer typischen Jetting Temperatur von 45°C beträgt allgemein 5 mPas bis 25 mPas, vorzugsweise 5 mPas bis 15 mPas, weiter vorzugsweise 7 mPas bis 11 mPas. Drucktemperaturen liegen üblicherweise im Bereich 30°C bis 60°C, bevorzugt 35°C bis 55°C.
- Die Oberflächenspannung der Tinte liegt bei 25°C, allgemein bei 15 mN/m bis 40 mN/m, bevorzugt bei 20 mN/m bis 30 mN/m. Die Oberflächenspannung ist keine gegebene Größe, sondern wird durch den Zusatz von oberflächenaktiven Substanzen eingestellt.
- Die Tinten gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung können durch bekannte Verfahren wie beispielsweise Rühren mit einem wassergekühlten Hochgeschwindigkeitsrührer oder Mahlen auf einer horizontalen Perlmühle hergestellt werden.
- Die Tinte der vorliegenden Erfindung wird vorzugsweise durch ultraviolette Strahlung getrocknet und ist für die Anwendung durch Tintenstrahldrucken geeignet. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft somit auch ein Verfahren zum Tintenstrahldrucken, wobei im Rahmen des Verfahrens die vorstehend beschriebene Tinte verwendet wird.
- Beispiel
- Die Erfindung wird exemplarisch anhand des nachfolgenden Beispiels näher erläutert: Es wurde eine Tintenzusammensetzung aus folgenden Bestandteilen hergestellt:
6 Gew.-% Irgacure® TPO (BASF SE)
6 Gew.-% Irgacure® 369 (BASF SE)
9 Gew.-% Hochverzweigtes Polyesteracrylat (Sartomer CN2305)
10 Gew.-% Laurylacrylat (BASF LAl214)
10 Gew.-% Triethylenglykol divinylether (BASF DVE-3)
42 Gew.-% DPGDA (Sartomer SR508®)
2 Gew.-% TMP(EO)3TA (Sartomer SR454®)
0,75 Gew.-% Stabilisator (BASF Irgastab® UV25)
0,25 Gew.-% Oberflächenaktive Substanz (BYK UV-3505)
14 Gew.-% Pigmentdispersion (25% Pigment in PONPGDA; RJA Dispersions D3420-064) - Das Produkt war eine Tinte mit einer Viskosität von 10,6 mPas bei 45°C. Die Tinte wurde auf Kunststoffolien und Papieretiketten aufgedruckt und unter Licht aus einer Ultraviolettlampe mit einer Leistung von 120 W/cm belichtet. Die Tinte ergab einen Ausdruck mit guter Härtung, Adhäsion und chemischer Beständigkeit.

Claims (14)
- UV aushärtbare Tinte umfassend: 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines hochverzweigten Polyesteracrylats mit einer Funktionalität im Bereich von 6 bis 30, 1 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-% mindestens eines Reaktivverdünners der ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Ethylenglykoldivinylether, Diethylenglykoldivinylether, Triethylenglykoldivinylether, Propylenglykoldivinylether, n-Butandioldivinylether, 1,4 Cyclohexandimethanoldivinylether, 1,4-Cyclohexandimethanoldivinylether und Gemischen davon, 1 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines radikalischen Photoinitiators des Norrish I Typs, 30 Gew.-% bis 70 Gew.-% mindestens eines multifunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers und 0 Gew.-% bis 30 Gew.-% mindestens eines monofunktionellen (Meth)acrylat-Monomers.
- Tinte nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Tinte mindestens ein hochverzweigts Polyesteracrylat mit einer Funktionalität im Bereich von 12 bis 20 enthält.
- Tinte nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Reaktivverdünner ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus N-Vinylpyrrolidon, N-Vinylcaprolactam, N-Vinylformamid und Vinylethern, wie Ethyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Butyl-, Isobutyl-, tert.-Butyl-, Amyl-, 2-Ethylhexyl-, Dodecyl-, Octadecyl- und Cyclohexylvinylether, Ethylenglykolmono- und -divinylether, Di-, Tri- und Tetraethylenglykolmono- und -divinylether, Propylenglykoldivinylether, Polyethylenglykoldivinylether, Ethylenglykolbutylvinylether, Triethylenglykolmethylvinylether, Polyethylenglykolmethylvinylether, Butandiolmono- und -divinylether, Hexandiolmono- und -divinylether, Cyclohexandimethanolmono- und -divinylether, Trimethylolpropantrivinylether, Aminopropylvinylether, Diethylaminoethylvinylether und Polytetrahydrofurandivinylether, Vinylestern, wie Vinylacetat, -propionat, -stearat und -laurat und Vinylaromaten, wie Vinyltoluol, Styrol, 2- und 4-Butylstyrol und 4-Decylstyrol, 1,4-Cyclohexandimethanoldivinylether und dergleichen und Gemischen davon.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das multifunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Pentaerythritoltriacrylat, Pentaerythritoltetraacrylat, Pentaerythritoltetramethacrylat, Dipentaerythritolhexaacrylat, 1,2-Ethylenglykoldiacrylat, 1,2-Ethylenglykoldimethacrylat, Diethylenglykoldimethacrylat, 1,4-Butandioldimethacrylat, Triethylenglykoldimethacrylat, 1,6-Hexandioldiacrylat, 1,6-Hexandioldimethacrylat, 1,12-Dodecanoldiacrylat, 1,12-Dodecanoldimethacrylat, tris(2-Hydroxyethyl)Isocyanurattriacrylat, Polyethylenglykoldiacrylate wie Tetraethylenglykoldiacrylat, Dipropylenglykoldiacrylat, Tripropylenglykoldiacrylat Tripropylenglykoltriacrylat, Trimethylolpropantriacrylat, Trimethylolpropantrimethacrylat, Glycerolpropoxylattriacrylat, Dipentaerythritolpentaacrylat, ethoxyliertes Pentaerythritoltetraacrylat propoxyliertes Neopentylglykoldiacrylat, Neopentylglykoldiacrylat, Bis(pentaerythritol)hexaacrylat, und den Acrylsäureestern ethoxylierter oder propoxylierter Glykole und Polyole, beispielsweise propoxyliertem Neopentylglykoldiacrylat, ethoxyliertem oder propoxyliertem Trimethylolpropantriacrylat und dergleichen und Gemischen davon.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das monofunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Laurylacrylat, Laurylmethacrylat, Isodecylacrylat, Isodecylmethacrylat, Myristylacrylat, Octadecylacrylat, Behenylacrylat, Cyclohexandimethanoldiacrylat, Isobornylacrylat, Isobornylmethacrylat, Caprolactonacrylat, 2-Phenoxyethylacrylat, Isooctylacrylat, Isooctylmethacrylat, Butylacrylat und dergleichen und Gemischen davon.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass diese das mindestens eine hochverzweigte Polyesteracrylat mit einer Funktionalität im Bereich von 6 bis 30 in einer Menge von 5 Gew.-% bis 10 Gew.-%, mindestens den mindestens einen Reaktivverdünner in einer Menge von 5 Gew.-% bis 20 Gew.-% und das mindestens eine multifunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer in einer Menge von 35 Gew.-% bis 60 Gew.-% enthält.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass diese das mindestens eine monofunktionelle (Meth)acrylat-Monomer in einer Menge von 5 Gew.-% bis 15 Gew.-% enthält.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Photoinitiator ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus 2-Benzyl-2-dimethylamino-1-(4-morpholino-phenyl)-butanon-1, 2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoyl-diphenyl-phosphinoxid, 2-Hydroxy-1-{4-[4-(2-hydroxy-2-methyl-propionyl)-benzyl]-phenyl}-2-methyl-propan-1-on, 1-Hydroxycyclohexyl-phenyl-keton, Phenylbis-2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl-phosphinoxid, 2-Dimethylamino-2-(4-methyl-benzyl)-1-(4-morpholin-4-yl-phenyl)-butan-1-on, 2-Hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenyl-propan-1-on, 2-Hydroxy-2-methylpropriophenon, 2,2-Dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenon, 2-Methyl-1-[4-(methylothio)phenyl]-2-morpholinopropan-1-on, 2,2-Dimethoxy-1,2-diphenylethan-1-on, Methylbenzoylformat, 2-Hydroxy-4'-hydroxyethoxy-2-methylpropiophenon, 2-Hydroxy-4'-methoxy-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-acetophenon, 2,2-Diethoxyacetophenon und 2,4,6-Trimethylbenzoylphenylphosphinsäureethylester oder eine Mischung mehrerer ist.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass diese den Photoinitiator in einer Menge von 7 Gew.-% bis 17 Gew.-% enthält.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass diese weiterhin mindestens ein Farbmittel enthält.
- Tinte nach Anspruch 10, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass diese das Farbmittel in einer Menge von 0,5 Gew.-% bis 15 Gew.-% enthält.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 11, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass diese eine Viskosität bei 45°C im Bereich von 5 mPas bis 25 mPas, bevorzugt im Bereich von 5 mPas bis 15 mPas aufweist.
- Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass diese eine Oberflächenspannung von 15 mN/m bis 40 mN/m bei 25°C aufweist.
- Verfahren zum Tintenstrahldrucken, wobei im Rahmen des Verfahrens die Tinte nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 13 verwendet wird.
