Abstract

Um einen Frontendträger der eingangs genannten Art zu schaffen, mittels welchem sich insbesondere im Falle einer Frontalkollision ein besonders vorteilhaftes Unfallverhalten realisieren lässt, ist es erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, dass in wenigstens eines der Strebenelemente ein Energieabsorptionselement integriert ist. Durch diese Integration eines Energieabsorptionselements kann oberhalb der unteren Längsträgerebene ein zusätzlicher oberer Lastpfad geschaffen werden, über welchen bei einer Frontalkollision eine frühzeitige, großflächige sowie insbesondere zumindest im Wesentlichen homogene Aufnahme von Unfallenergie realisierbar ist. Somit wird durch die Integration des jeweiligen Energieabsorptionselements in das wenigstens eine zugeordnete Strebenelement das Energieabsorptionselement besonders frühzeitig mit Unfallenergie beaufschlagt und kann somit besonders frühzeitig Unfallenergie aufnehmen. Kommt es beispielsweise zu einer Frontalkollision mit einer geringen Geschwindigkeit, einem sogenannten Reparaturcrash, der durch Austausch entsprechender Bauteile behebbar ist, so werden das wenigstens eine Strebenelement und somit auch das in das wenigstens eine Strebenelement integrierte Energieabsorptionselement besonders frühzeitig unter Energieverzehrung aktiviert, so dass in der Folge demgegenüber hintere, steifere Bereiche des Personenkraftwagens nicht beschädigt werden. Somit lässt sich beispielsweise durch einfachen und kostengünstigen Austausch entsprechender Bauteile des Frontendträgers der Personenkraftwagen reparieren, ohne dass große und kostenaufwendige strukturelle Schäden entstanden sind.In order to provide a front end support of the aforementioned type, by means of which, in particular in the event of a frontal collision, a particularly advantageous accident behavior can be realized, it is inventively provided that in at least one of the strut elements, an energy absorption element is integrated.
