Abstract

Μια ανωμαλία σε ένα εμβρυϊκό γονιδίωμα μπορεί να ταυτοποιηθεί αναλύοντας ένα δείγμα εμβρυϊκού και μητρικού DNA. Οι ταξινομήσεις για το εάν μια ανωμαλία (ενίσχυση ή διαγραφή) υπάρχει σε μια υποχρωμοσωμική περιοχή καθορίζονται με χρήση μεθόδων με βάση την καταμέτρηση και με βάση το μέγεθος. Η ταξινόμηση καταμέτρησης και η ταξινόμηση μεγέθους μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν σε συνδυασμό για να καθοριστεί εάν μόνο το έμβρυο ή μόνο ην μητέρα, ή και οι δύο, φέρουν την ανωμαλία στην υποχρωμοσωμική περιοχή, αποφεύγοντας έτσι τα ψευδώς θετικά όταν η μητέρα φέρει την ανωμαλία ενώ το έμβρυο όχι.
