Abstract
Esta invención se refiere, entre otras cosas, a varias composiciones de electrolitos a base de plantas, métodos para prepararlas y métodos para usarlas. Una modalidad se refiere a una composición de electrolitos a base de plantas que comprende un contenido de electrolitos derivado de plantas alto en potasio relativo al sodio, y un contenido de carbohidratos derivado de plantas menor que 6% en peso/volumen, otra modalidad se refiere a un método para rehidratar a un individuo o prevenir la deshidratación o sobre- hidratación de un individuo o para prevenir o tratar la deficiencia de potasio en un individuo, al administrar al individuo una composición de electrolitos a base de plantas. Las composiciones de electrolitos se pueden preparar a partir de jugo de caña de azúcar, jugo de remolacha azucarera, jugo de sorgo dulce, jarabe de palma, savia de arce, jugo de vegetales o jugo de frutas.
