Abstract

Un polímero de caucho modificado que comprende a) una matriz de polímero vinil aromático, y b) dispersado dentro de la matriz de polímero, un caucho injertado que tiene un grado de injertado de 30 a 100% en el punto de inversión de fase, en donde la cantidad total de polímero vinil aromático injertado es de 20 a 75% del peso total de polímero vinil aromático. 1Una mejora del proceso de polimerización de masa para la producción de un polímero vinil aromático de caucho en donde el monómero vinil aromático y la mezcla de caucho son alimentadas en un vaso de polimerización en masa y polimerizado, la mejora comprende utilizar un proceso de injertamiento tal que al menos 30% del caucho es injertado con un polímero de injertamiento en el punto de inmersión de fase durante el proceso e polimerización de masa.
