La presente invención provee plantas de cebada, o partes de las mismas, que tienen una elevada actividad de dextrinasa límite. En particular, se proveen plantas de cebada que portan una mutación en el gen HvLDI. Adicionalmente, se describen productos de plantas preparados a partir de dichas plantas de cebada, o partes de las mismas, así como métodos para producir los mismos.
