Detailed Description
Embodiments of the present invention are described below with reference to the drawings.
Figures 1 and 2 show a front view and a top view, respectively, of an embodiment of a waste treatment station according to the utility model. The waste disposal station 1000 comprises two opposite side walls 11, a bottom surface 12 (typically the ground) defined between the two side walls 11, and an entrance 13 for allowing a waste transport vehicle or the like to enter. A feed-receiving portion 14 recessed with respect to the bottom surface 12 is provided on a side of the waste disposal station 1000 remote from the inlet 13 for receiving waste.
A lifting frame 2 is provided in the waste disposal station 1000 for cooperation with a waste bin (not shown). The lifting frame 2 may be in the form of a rack arranged in front of the feed-receiving portion 14 transversely to the side wall 11 of the waste disposal station 1000. Referring to fig. 1 and 2, the lifting frame 2 includes a base frame 21 (best shown in fig. 5) and a lifting mechanism 22. The base frame 21 and the lifting mechanism 22 may have any suitable construction known to those skilled in the art and therefore will not be described in detail herein. A lifting mechanism 22 is provided on a side of the base frame 21 remote from the feed-receiving portion 14 for performing a lifting/feeding operation to transfer the garbage loaded in the garbage can into the feed-receiving portion 14. A drive mechanism 15 is provided on one of the two side walls 11 of the waste disposal station 1000 for driving the lifting mechanism 22 to operate as required.
In this embodiment, the lifting frame 2 is arranged as a unit on its bottom surface 12 independently of the waste disposal station 1000. In other words, the lifting frame 2 is movable between a working position and a standby position relative to the feed-receiving portion 14. This movement can be effected manually by an operator or automatically by automated techniques. In the working position, the lifting frame 2 is located in front of the feed-receiving portion 14 (on the side close to the inlet 13) for carrying out a lifting operation on the trash can transported thereto. The standby position may be any suitable position away from the feed-receiving portion 14 to keep the passage between the inlet 13 to the feed-receiving portion 14 clear.
Alternatively, the carrier 2 may be secured relative to the feed-receiving portion 14 when in the working position by means known in the art, such as ties, stops, snaps, etc., to help prevent accidental movement of the carrier 2 when the carrier mechanism 22 is in operation.
The carrier 2 may be provided with at least two guides 20 (e.g., rollers, etc., best shown in fig. 6) underneath the carrier 2, the guides 20 being discretely arranged in the direction of extension (lateral) of the carrier 2 to more reasonably carry the weight of the entire carrier 2 and to some extent guide the movement of the carrier 2. Alternatively, these guides 20 may be provided on the side of the base frame 21 of the lifting frame 2 closer to or further from the feed-receiving portion 14 (instead of being provided directly below the base frame 21), preferably on the side on which the lifting mechanism 22 is mounted, as long as their location does not affect the normal operation of the lifting mechanism 22. More preferably, one such guide is provided at each of the four corners below the base frame 21.
In an alternative embodiment not shown, it is contemplated that the carrier frame 22 may be elevated relative to the bottom surface 12 by any suitable elevating mechanism to maintain the passageway clear. For example, engagement members (e.g., rollers, splines, etc.) may be provided on both lateral sides of the carrier 22, each positioned adjacent to the side wall 11. Two rails (not shown) are provided on the two side walls 11 opposite to each other for receiving the engaging members of the respective sides and allowing the engaging members to reciprocate within the rails. It is contemplated that the tracks may be vertical tracks disposed perpendicular to the bottom surface 12 or may be angled tracks disposed oblique to the bottom surface 12. As long as these rails can meet the respective strength requirements for carrying the carrier 2 and guiding it to slide.
Fig. 3 and 4 show another embodiment of a waste disposal station according to the present invention, which differs from the configuration shown in fig. 1 and 2 in that a vertical pivot 23 is provided on one lateral side (the right side as viewed in the figures) of the lifting frame 2, which vertical pivot 23 is fixed relative to the bottom surface 12 of the waste disposal station 1000, allowing the lifting frame 2 to pivot horizontally about the vertical pivot 23 from an operating position shown in solid lines in fig. 4 to an exemplary standby position shown in broken lines in fig. 4. The lateral side of the lifting frame 2 remote from the vertical pivot 23 (e.g. the left side as viewed in figure 3) when in the working position may be fixed in any suitable manner relative to the waste disposal station 1000.
Alternatively, a post 24 may be provided that is fixed relative to the bottom surface 12 at a location adjacent to at least one, and preferably both, of the side walls 11. The vertical pivot 23 may be fixed to the upright 24, see fig. 7A. In case the lifting frame 2 is also provided with a pillar 24 on the side opposite the vertical pivot 23, a telescopic pin 25 and a first engaging member 26 may be provided on the respective lateral side of the lifting frame 2, see fig. 7B. The upright 24 of the respective side is provided with a slotted hole 241 and a second engagement member 242 cooperating respectively with the telescopic pin 25 and the first engagement member 26. When the carrier 2 is in position, the telescopic pin 25 may first be extended from the carrier 2 in a transverse direction, through the corresponding slot 241 and complete the engagement of the first and second engagement members 26, 242. This engagement may be by a key-and-slot engagement or a pin-and-hole engagement as shown in fig. 7B, among other engagement means known to those skilled in the art. It is envisaged that the vertical pivot 23 could be fixed directly to the side wall 11 or the bottom surface 12 of the respective side, without the provision of the upright 24.
In one embodiment of the waste management station of the present invention, as shown in fig. 8, it differs from the embodiment shown in fig. 7 in that the lifting frame 2 comprises a left lifting frame 2L and a right lifting frame 2R. The two stacks 2L, 2R are each pivotally connected at their laterally outer side, adjacent the side wall 11, to a vertical pivot 23 on the respective side. The structure and connection of the vertical pivot 23 may be the same as that shown in fig. 7 and 7A. Further, the laterally inner sides of the left and right hand carriers 2L and 2R are connected to each other by a joint assembly 27. The engagement assembly 27 is removable and may be constructed and arranged in a manner similar to that shown in figure 7B. When it is desired to move the carriers 2 from the operating position to the standby position, the engaging assemblies 27 can be disengaged and the left and right carrier 2L, 2R can be pivoted about their associated vertical pivots 23 in a manner similar to a side-by-side split door, respectively, to clear the desired passageway. Although the engagement assembly 27 is shown in fig. 8 as being in a centered position between the two lateral (outer) sides of the carrier 2, it is contemplated that it may be disposed in an offset position relative to the centered position, as shown in fig. 9.
At least one guide 20 may be provided on each side of the engaging assembly 27 to help support and guide the pivoting of at least a portion of the weight of the left and right hand lift frames 2L and 2R, respectively.
Although several embodiments of the present invention have been described with reference to the accompanying drawings, as will be apparent to those skilled in the art, numerous modifications can be made to the above-described embodiments without departing from the scope of the utility model as defined in the appended claims. The above embodiments are provided only as examples for illustrating the technical solutions of the present invention, and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. Features or elements described in one embodiment may be combined with other embodiments for implementation unless incompatible therewith.
