Abstract

本发明涉及具有排列成差分对的触点的电连接器。
背景技术
目前存在多种用于差分对应用中的连接器。在差分对应用中,信号被分成两半(每一半是另一半的反相)并且每一半通过单独的数据线被传送到连接器的匹配接口。电连接器的匹配接口可以具有多个触点,并且在差分对应用中,该些触点通常被安排成差分对。触点差分对的信号质量会由于附近触点的差分对产生的电磁场(EMF)引起的串扰/噪声等而降低。电连接器的结构和配置影响电连接器的串扰状况。电子行业已经提出了多种改进电连接器匹配接口处差分信号质量的解决方案。
一种方法涉及在连接器内部设置接地屏蔽以减少附近差分对对连接器差分对的EMF干扰。当匹配插头(header)和插座连接器时,在信号触点彼此啮合之前,接地屏蔽发生接触。在某些连接器中,接收室的形状与被接收的电触点的形状相匹配以减少它们之间的气隙,从而降低了端子触点的阻抗,并且因此改善了信号性能。
在连接器的配置内提供接地屏蔽和平面提供了一种减少差分对上EMF干扰的方法。然而,增加的许多接地屏蔽增加了连接器的成本。而且,电连接器的覆盖区(footprint)或尺寸会随着接地触点和屏蔽的增加而增加。此外,当数据率增加时,电连接器需要进一步降低EMF干扰。
进一步降低高速数据连接中使用的差分对连接器中的串扰/噪声的需求仍然存在。
发明内容
本发明提供了一种电连接器,所述电连接器包括具有配接接口的外壳。触点被设置在所述外壳内并且被安排成差分对,每个差分对中的触点沿着相关的差分对触点线定位。相邻差分对的差分对触点线彼此不平行。

具体实施方式
图1图示了根据本发明实施例形成的电连接器的触点图案10。触点图案10进行定向以减少电连接器中电镀通孔的串扰/噪声。触点图案10示出四个触点12、14、16和18,所述四个触点可包括在电连接器外壳的配接接口中。图1图示了彼此垂直布置的差分对20和差分对22。差分对20包括用来传送差分信号“A”的触点12和14。差分信号“A”包括“A+”组分(触点12)和“A-”组分(触点14),每个组分是另一组分的反相(inverse)。同样,差分对22包括用来传送差分信号“B”的触点16和18。差分信号“B”包括“B+”组分(触点16)和“B-”组分(触点18),每个组分是另一组分的反相。差分对20的触点12和14被配置为垂直于差分对22的触点16和18。
如图1所示,差分对20和22彼此相邻地设置并且沿箭头A的方向排成行。通过触点12和14所画的线确定了触点线24。类似地,可以通过触点16和18画出另一触点线26。触点12和14彼此分开并且位于等分轴28的相反侧。触点16和18彼此分开并且位于等分轴30的相反侧。触点线24具有不同于触点线26的方向。
等分轴28的取向垂直于触点线24并且与触点线26一致。由于触点16和18位于触点线26上,而所述触点线26为触点线24的垂直等分线,因此触点16与触点12和14的距离相等,同样,触点18与触点12和14的距离相等。等分轴30垂直于触点线26。差分对20和22如此配置,使得它们相应的触点线24和26彼此垂直,并且一条触点线(例如26)与另一条触点线(例如24)的垂直等分线重叠。
在操作中,通过差分对20和22的差分信号形成EMF。触点16处于触点12产生的电磁场(EMF+)32中。触点16还处于触点14产生的电磁场(EMF-)34中。因为触点12和14形成具有相等和相反(反相)信号的差分对20,并且因为触点16与触点12和14的距离相等,所以在触点16处EMF 32抵消了EMF 34。触点16处的EMF 32和EMF 34的净效应是零。类似地,触点18处的EMF 32和EMF 34的净效应也是零。由于触点12和14产生的EMF 32和34在触点16处产生的串扰/噪声自行抵消,而对触点16处传送的信号组分的净效应是零。在图1的实施例中,触点12、14、16和18被图示为销型触点。可选择地,触点的形状可以不同于销,例如“X”、刀形、触点垫、十字、星形等等。
图2图示了连接到共模差分接收器39的图1的触点图案10。在操作中,触点16在触点12处产生EMF 36,而在触点14处产生EMF 38。触点16与触点12和14的距离相等,因此,由EMF 36造成的触点12的耦合与由EMF38造成的触点14的耦合相等并且同相。差分接收器39放大触点12和14处传送的两个信号的差别。因为由于触点16,触点12处和触点14处经受的EMF能量相等并且同相,所以信号影响也相等并且从而被差分接收器39消除。差分接收器39比较在其输入端处接收的两个信号,并且输出代表它们之间差别的信号。对于差分接收器39的两个输入线相同的信号组分被拒绝并且不从那里输出。差分接收器39对差分对20的共模(相等并且同相的能量)探测去除了来自每个触点12和14的相等和同相的信号组分,只放大了信号组分“A+”与“A-”间的差别,例如[“A+”+噪声]-[“A-”+噪声]=2A。来自触点16的串扰/噪声在差分接收器“A”处的净效应(EMF效应)是零。
图3图示了根据备选实施例形成的刀形触点322、324、326和328的覆盖区300。触点324和326被配置成行302和304以及列306和308。一组四个最接近的相邻差分对310被放大以示出差分对314、316、318和320。四个最接近的相邻差分对310中的相邻差分对彼此垂直地对齐。在该实例中,差分对314垂直于差分对316和320。差分对316垂直于差分对314和318。差分对318垂直于差分对316和320。差分对320垂直于差分对314和318。
图3的触点322-328在匹配接口处包括刀片,各刀片具有高度(纵向方向)和宽度(横向方向),使得高度大于宽度。差分对的刀片取向为其横向平行于相关(相邻)差分对触点线(见,例如,差分对322的触点线329)延伸。在图3中,任何两个相邻的差分对(不在对角线上,而是彼此在一行或一列上)具有彼此垂直的触点线。
在操作中,图3示出的覆盖区300的独特结构依赖于差分信号的对称特性来减少电连接器或传输线中的噪声。覆盖区300交替改变相邻差分对的方向,使得差分对被定位在垂直于相邻差分对的方向上。在图3的例子中,不包括接地触点。
图4图示了覆盖区400内的四个最接近相邻差分对的备选实施例。接地触点402相对于覆盖区400的四个相邻和垂直的差分对404、406、408和410居中定位。接地触点402居中定位在差分对404和408之间延伸的对角轴412与差分对406和410之间延伸的对角轴414的交点处。图4示出的接地触点402为十字形,但是可以成形为星形、销形等等。
接地触点402消除了沿对角轴412和414的串扰。通过接地触点402消除了差分对404对差分对408的EMF效应和差分对408对差分对404的EMF效应。同样,通过接地触点402消除了差分对406对差分对410的EMF效应和差分对410对差分对406EMF效应。相邻差分对,例如404和406、406和408、408和410以及410和404的相互垂直定向消除了相邻差分对之间的EMF效应。
图5图示了根据本发明实施例形成的触点差分对的模块化覆盖区500的顶视图。图5示出的差分对506为一对销型触点508和512。在触点508和512之间图示出了触点线510。阶梯式的轮廓线502限定了模块化覆盖区500的其中一个模块组,并且顺随一行差分对的行布局的轮廓。
物理模块(也称为chicklet模块)可以具有阶梯式轮廓线504的轮廓形状,该阶梯式轮廓线504顺随一行差分对506的行布局。模块501-503如此配设和确定形状以便以互锁的方式滑动到电连接器外壳内。在备选实施例中,各模块501-503的形状可以不顺随各差分对的结构形状,而是可以为某种其它形状,例如平滑的平面形状。
本发明实施例应用的例子包括用于底板/子板连接器的板式连接器、夹层型连接器(mezzanine style connectors)和I/O型连接器。这种连接器的覆盖区中存在的串扰/噪声对于每秒2或3千兆位(Gps)的数据速率可以低至百分之一。
图6图示了包括多个模块602、604、606和608的电连接器600的透视图,其中所述模块602、604、606和608在接口610处包括上述的触点图案10。以触点图案10排布的一排触点刀片差分对612配合入模块602插口的触点图案10中。类似地,以触点图案10排布的一排连接器刀片614配合入模块604的插口中,一排连接器刀片616配合入模块606的插口中,并且一排连接器刀片618配合入模块608的插口中。

Claims (4)
1、一种电连接器,包括具有配接接口的外壳,触点设置在所述外壳中并且被配置成差分对,每个所述差分对中的所述触点沿相关的差分对触点线定位,其特征在于:
相邻差分对的所述差分对触点线彼此不平行。
2、如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中所述相邻差分对的所述差分对触点线彼此垂直。
3、如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中所述触点在所述配接接口处包括沿纵向具有高度和沿横向具有宽度的刀片,所述高度大于所述宽度,所述刀片如此定向使得所述横向平行于相关的差分对触点线延伸。
4、如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中所述触点在所述配接接口处包括沿纵向具有高度和沿横向具有宽度的刀片,所述高度大于所述宽度,其中相邻差分对的所述刀片彼此垂直定向。
