本申请要求2003年2月20日提交的申请号为60/448701的临时申请以及2003年12月11日提交的申请号为60/528862的临时申请的优先权,它们作为参考都被包含在本文中。
技术领域
本发明通常涉及铁路通信装置,更具体地,涉及便携式通信装置,其将用于遥控列车场上的轨道开关的用户显示器和用于遥控列车场内机车的移动的用户显示器集成在一起。
背景技术
公知的在列车场上的列车路线选择技术需要访问并利用单独的通信装置,此外还需要在各种工作人员之间消耗时间并进行繁重的协调,用以来确保精确地执行轨道开关的适当的选择和触发,用以实现机车从列车场内给定的位置到所希望的目的地的所希望的转移或路线选择。
在一种公知的技术中,列车场的操作员可以利用一组对每个开关都是唯一的DTMF音调来通过手持式无线电话请求触发沿机车移动路线上的每个单独的轨道开关。优选地,同一个操作员还用单独的装置例如用于这种机车的操作员控制单元(OCU)来控制遥控机车(RCL)的移动。操作员需要自身同时处理两个独立的装置这一实际情况可能导致从工效学角度来讲的次最佳操作。此外,一次请求触发一个单个的开关可能相当麻烦,这是因为在典型的列车场内,为了到达所希望的目的地可以包含触发包括有多个开关的开关组合。在大型轨道场内,有大量轨道、开关、可能的路线和开关组合。在公知的技术中,操作员必须识别用于所希望路线的适当的开关,以单个为基础,通过手机与这些开关中的每一个相互作用,确认每个开关都已经移到所希望的状态或开关位置,并通过OCU将列车在相邻开关之间移动一段。此外,由于在轨道场内的其它交通,沿所选择路线的某些开关可能不可以使用。一辆机车由其部分移动所导致的不完全移动可能会依次干扰场内其它机车的正常移动。而且,用于列车场操作的公知便携式列车路线选择装置内的用户显示器通常被局限为字母数字符号,因此可能不能完全实现人们所希望的操作的简便性和用户方便性。
考虑到上述因素,希望在单个的便携式通信装置内将用于实现机车移动的遥控的功能与用于轨道开关的适当选择和触发的自动化功能集成在一起。进一步希望提供单个的便携式通信装置,其允许操作员直接地或间接地输入可能包括多个用于到达所希望的目的地的开关的开关组合。还希望提供在这种便携式通信装置中的图形用户界面。此外,希望在移动机车之前确认用于已选定的路线的所需要的开关的开关可以被使用,并确认这些开关已经被设定在路线所需要的位置上。

具体实施方式
如在图1的示意性表示中所说明的,体现了本发明各方面的指令通信和控制(CCC)列车轨道场系统6使遥控机车(RCL)10的操作员8能够通过便携式通信装置14启动一个或多个遥控轨道开关12的组合,该便携式通信装置14如操作员控制单元(OCU),可以是手持式的或者可以由操作员的身体支撑的。便携式通信装置14还允许操作员控制机车10的移动。这样使得操作员8能够命令开关策略,用于给机车选择路线,并且还引导机车在列车场的轨道布置16内从任何给定的轨道移动到任何其它的轨道上。
如本领域的技术人员应理解的,列车场可以包括大量相互可连接的轨道,它们通过适当的开关组合(例如开关12)的启动可连接成适当的开关状态。在典型的列车场操作中,给机车选择从一个轨道到另一个轨道的路线可能需要将多个开关设定到适当的开关状态。
在一个示例性实施例中,便携式通信装置14(图2)包括用于选择所希望路线的第一用户显示器或用户界面50。这可以允许发送路线选择请求消息,如请求从给定入口门转移到所希望的出口门。在一个示例性实施例中,通信装置14包括控制器52,如专用微控制器、现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)装置或专用集成电路(ASIC)装置,该控制器52耦合到无线电装置54并响应第一用户界面50以经由携带表示机车所希望的路线选择或转移的数据的无线电消息将指令路线选择信息发送到场控制系统20(图1)。作为例子而非限定,可适用于实现本发明各实施方面的一种场控制系统可以是市场上称为Proyard NX场控制系统的系统。
便携式通信装置14进一步包括用于控制机车移动的第二用户显示器或用户界面56,如推进功率、制动动作、速度控制和在移动机车过程中有用的其它功能,如警报器启动、灯光控制等。电池58或其它合适的电源都可以用来为构成便携式通信装置14的各种电子模块供电。
如可以耦合到场控制系统20的数据库22(图1)包括数据文件和程序代码,该程序代码允许产生用于将开关(或开关组合)触发到适当的开关位置的开关指令,其中上述开关(或开关组合)是达到操作员8通过便携式通信装置14规定的所希望的路线而需要的开关(或开关组合)。例如,用于选择机车从给定的入口门到所希望的出口门的路线的消息可能需要将给定的开关组合触发到各自的开关状态。对数据库进行编程以响应请求所希望路线的消息而自动地进行适当的开关选择,而不是由场的工作人员来确定应该触发哪些特定的开关组合。
结果,不会用到实现转移所需的任何轨道,可通过一条或多条可供选择的开关路线来实现到达所希望的轨道。例如,选择机车从给定的入口门到所希望的出口门的路线一般可能需要经过特定的轨道。但是,在另一辆机车已经正在使用该特定轨道的情况下,数据库会选择避免经过该特定轨道的可供选择的开关组合。例如,一旦开关组合中的每个开关都被设定到适当的开关位置,就可将确认或验证消息发送给操作员,用以告知执行用于选择机车从给定的入口门到所希望的出口门的路线的开关策略。
希望本发明的各方面都能够产生较大的稳定性以及与列车场的工作有关的生产量,这是由于,例如,单个操作员将能够遥控机车的移动,并由单个通信装置来命令路线选择策略,而且不再需要其他的人员作为中间人来弄清需要执行哪些开关组合以到达所希望的轨道。这样将进一步允许RCL的操作员将他的注意力集中在安全地控制机车上,而不用不得不处理手动地设法弄清需要执行的特定开关组合这样的繁重的后勤工作,或是不得不与其他人员合作来安排特定的开关组合。
在一个示例性实施例中,一旦设定了合适的开关组合,在每个开关内的适当的转换器23(图1说明了一个这样的转换器)就可以响应于对应的开关状态,并可以配置为经由便携式通信装置14将状态消息传送回场控制系统并且继而返回操作员8。因此,基本上会实时地告知操作员初始传送的用于执行给定开关组合的指令是否被执行。
在另一个示例性实施例中,一旦操作员选择了所希望的路线选择,由虚线24表示的路线选择指令就可以随意地从便携式通信装置14发送到机车10而不是被发送到场控制系统。在这种情况下,在车上的通信设备25将接收该路线选择指令,然后经由耦合到场控制系统的适当的车载无线电装置来传送该路线选择指令,如由虚线26所示。类似地,具有路线选择指令执行的验证的消息可以经由在机车上的无线电装置发送回操作员。
图3是如可以被用来将与列车场内的路线状态有关的信息显示给操作员的图形用户界面(GUI)70的示例性表示。例如,该图形用户界面可以用图形来显示多个入口门(标记为EG1-EG3)和多个目的地门(标记为DG1-DG5)的映像图,并且包括可能的轨道72和78以及用于互连这些门的开关节点74和76。各种类型的信息都可以显示在GUI上,如,在开关节点76处是否出现故障,或是轨道78目前是否被另一辆机车占用。
对于具有更少量的用于机车的轨道、开关和可能的路线的较小的铁轨场来说,数据库22可以存储在例如在所谓的开关型机车上的OCU或机车控制单元上,而与开关的通信可以由OCU或该机车控制单元来完成。
尽管本文中已经示出并描述了本发明的优选实施例,但明显的是,其仅仅是作为例子来提供这些实施例的。在不脱离本发明的情况下本领域的技术人员会作出多种变化、改变和替换。因此,目的是将本发明仅限定在所附的权利要求的精神和范围内。

Claims (10)

1.一种通信装置(14),用于控制在列车场内的轨道布置(16)上的无人机车(10)的操作,所述机车在多个可供选择的轨道路线上可操作以到达所述轨道布置中多个可能的目的地中的各自的目的地,所述轨道布置包括多个开关(12),该多个开关被配置为用以改变机车沿所述轨道布置运行的路线,所述通信装置包括:
第一用户显示器(50),用于通过设定沿通向目的地的路线上的开关的状态来命令机车在所述轨道布置内所希望的目的地;和
第二用户显示器(56),用于控制机车沿所述轨道布置的移动。
2.如权利要求1的装置,其中所述显示器被制作在具有第一和第二操作模式的单个显示器装置上。
3.如权利要求1的装置,其中所述显示器被制作在两个显示器装置上,一个显示器装置用于一个显示器。
4.如权利要求1的装置,其中第二显示器被制作在能够由操作员输入数据的图形用户界面(70)上。
5.一种通信装置,用于控制在列车场内轨道布置(16)上的无人机车(10)的操作,所述机车在多个可供选择的轨道路线上可操作以到达所述轨道布置中多个可能的目的地中的各自的目的地,所述轨道布置包括多个开关,该多个开关被配置为用以改变机车沿所述轨道布置运行的路线,所述通信装置包括:
用户显示器(50),该用户显示器使操作员能够在没有其他人员参与的情况下,通过设定沿通向目的地的路线上的开关的状态来命令机车在所述轨道布置内所希望的目的地。
6.一种通信装置,用于控制在列车场内轨道布置(16)上的无人机车(10)的操作,所述机车在多个可供选择的轨道路线上可操作以到达所述轨道布置中多个可能的目的地中的各自的目的地,所述轨道布置包括多个开关(12),该多个开关被配置为用以改变机车沿所述轨道布置运行的路线,所述通信装置包括:
图形用户界面(70),用于命令所述机车在所述轨道布置内的所希望的目的地,所述图形用户界面被配置为用以显示所述轨道布置的表示,并且其中所述表示允许操作员监控可以沿机车的路线显现的开关的操作条件。
7.一种通信装置,用于控制在列车场内轨道布置(16)上的无人机车(10)的操作,所述机车在多个可供选择的轨道路线上可操作以到达所述轨道布置中多个可能的目的地中的各自的目的地,所述轨道布置包括多个开关(12),该多个开关被配置为用以改变机车沿所述轨道布置运行的路线,所述通信装置包括:
用户显示器(50),用于命令机车在所述轨道布置内所希望的目的地,所述用户显示器响应于表示用于到达所希望目的地的机车路线的开关组合是否已经被执行的验证消息。
8.一种用于选择机车(10)通过轨道布置的路线的系统(6),该轨道布置包括响应各自的开关组合可彼此连接的多条轨道,上述开关组合被施加到多个遥控开关(12)以用于使一条轨道与另一条轨道相互连接,所述系统包括:
通信装置(14),用于命令所述机车在所述轨道布置内的所希望的目的地;和
响应于命令的所希望的目的地的场控制系统(20),所述场控制系统耦合到数据库(22),该数据库包括表示用于到达所希望的目的地的至少一条路线的数据,所述场控制系统被配置为用以产生施加到多个遥控开关中的各个开关的开关组合来实现所述至少一条路线,,所述场控制系统被配置为用以将关于到达所希望的目的地的所述至少一条路线和如果存在的话所述可供选择的路线的确认信息发送给所述通信装置。
9.如权利要求8的系统,其中,来自通信装置的命令的所希望的目的地经由在机车上的通信设备(25)被传送到列车场控制系统。
10.如权利要求9的系统,其中,来自所述场控制系统的确认经由在机车上的通信设备被传送到通信装置。
