Abstract

Description

提供背光的发光二极管阵列组件及具有该组件的背光单元
技术领域
本发明一般涉及用于液晶显示器电视机的背光,并且特别涉及可作为带有被整体封装的多个发光二极管的独立装置的、并且不论屏幕的尺寸可以普遍地被使用的用于提供背光的液晶显示器阵列组件,以及具有同样构成的背光单元。
背景技术
发光二极管(LEDs)是半导体发光装置,是以诸如GaAs、AlGaAs、GaN、InGaN和AlGaInP等化合物半导体材料的改性而形成的发光光源,并且产生各种颜色的光。另外,对于确定LED装置的特性的标准,有颜色、亮度和光强。这样的LED装置的特性,首先由用在该LED装置中的化合物半导体材料决定,其次,用于装配LED芯片的封装结构也有相当的影响。
特别,随着由物理与化学特性优良的GaN实现的高频三元色(红、蓝和绿)和白色LEDs的出现,LEDs的应用扩展到并使用在各种领域,例如键区和液晶显示器(LCD)设备的背光,信号光,机场跑道的导向光,以及飞机和具有高定向性汽车的阅读灯和照明灯。
图1a和图1b分别是示出用作传统背光光源的LED装置10的透视图和截面图。
参见这些图,LED装置10按照这样的方式形成:由塑胶材料制成的外壳11装配有用于输入和输出电信号的引线11a以及由导电材料制成的热沉12,并且,构造用来反射从LED芯片14沿水平方向生成的光的镜头16,与外壳11的上部结合。
构造由外壳11和镜头16形成的封装结构来发射从LED芯片以近乎水平方向产生的光,并向其外部释放由LED14产生的热,这样可以得到稳定的操作特性。
图2是示出利用具有这样的水平发光特性的LED装置10实现的传统背光单元的图,以及图3是示出包含在图2的背光单元中的LED阵列的的放大图。
如图1和图2所示,传统的背光单元20封装成图1所示的样子,并且,传统背光单元20的LED阵列组件21按照这样的方式形成:多个LED装置10,每个发射红、蓝和绿光中的一种,被安装成一行,使三原色交替地安排在印刷电路板(PCB)30上,在PCB 30上,形成用于传送电信号的印刷电路图形。另外,背光单元20被划分成两个相等的部分,LED阵列组件21被安排在每个划分部分的中心位置,反射板23形成在LED阵列组件21的两侧,用于水平地反射沿垂直方向发射的光。阵列组件21的PCB 30由高导电材料制成,例如Al,以提高热辐射效率。
从安装在LED阵列组件21上的LED装置10发射的光沿垂直方向反射,并被漫射到整个显示屏幕。
背光单元20所要求的阵列组件21的数量,随着对应的显示装置的屏幕尺寸,按比例增长,并且,每个阵列组件21所要求的LED装置10的数量也随着该显示装置的屏幕尺寸变化。
因此,如上所述,传统的背光单元存在缺点,阵列组件21和反射体23要根据显示装置的屏幕尺寸重新设计,并且,价格昂贵的LED装置10也随着该显示装置的屏幕尺寸按比例增长。
另外,由于传统的背光单元使阵列组件平行地排列,与阵列组件21有间隔距离的背光单元的边缘部分的亮度特性,较之其中央部分的亮度会相对恶化,因此传统的背光单元有缺点。
另外,由于LED阵列组件被构造成单一的单元,在LED阵列组件的一部分出现故障时,为了查出故障,必须检查整个LED阵列组件,因此传统的背光单元有缺点。
发明内容
因此,针对发生在现有技术中的上述问题,提出本发明,并且本发明的一个目的是提供可作为独立装置的、带有被整体封装的多个发光二极管的、并且不论屏幕的尺寸可以普遍被使用的用于提供背光的液晶显示器阵列组件,以及具有同样构成的背光单元。
为了实现上述的目的,本发明提供用作背光光源的LED阵列组件,包括:条形PCB,其上形成有导电图形,用于传送电力;基座,形成在所述PCB上,由导热材料制成;多个LED芯片,安装在所述基座上,排成行,并电连接到所述PCB的所述导电图形;反射体,围绕所述多个LED芯片形成,用来反射从所述多个LED芯片向上发射的光;以及镜头,在所述多个LED芯片和所述反射体的上方形成,具有条形,用来沿水平方向漫射从所述多个LED芯片和所述反射体发射的光。
安装在所述基座上的所述多个LEDs,可以由每一个各发射红、绿和蓝光中的一种的LEDs形成,以联合形成白光。
所述镜头可以具有使光沿着所述组件的纵向漫射的结构。
为了实现上述目的,本发明提供一种用于显示装置的背光单元,其中,权利要求1至6中任何一个所述的多个LED阵列组件被安排成多个行和列,在每个所述的行,所述LED阵列组件以固定间隔排列,在两个相邻的行中,定位在第一行的每一个LED阵列组件,使其朝向第二行中两个相邻的LED阵列组件之间的间隔。

具体实施方式
下面将参考附图说明根据本发明的用于提供背光的LED阵列组件和背光单元。
图4是示出根据本发明优选实施例的LED阵列组件的分解透视图。
如图4所示,本发明的LED阵列组件40包含:特定长度的条形PCB 42,在其上形成用于传送电信号的导电图形;基座44,由导热材料制成,并位于PCB 42;多个LED芯片46,安装在基座44上,排成行,并电连接到PCB 42的所述导电图形;反射体48,围绕LED芯片46形成,用于反射从LED芯片46向上发射的光;以及镜头50,在LED芯片46和反射体48之上形成,以近乎水平的方向漫射从LED芯片46和反射体48发出的光。
上述的PCB 42不仅对多个LED施加电信号,而且,当多个LED芯片工作时,还向其外部传热。因此,用于输入、输出、和传送电信号的所述导电图形形成在PCB 42,并且,所述导电图形用具有高导电效率的材料实现,例如,铝Al。在这种情况下,PCB 42的尺寸可以标准化为特定的长度,而不考虑对应LCD的屏幕长度。PCB 42的长度依赖于要安装的LED芯片46的数量,并且,所述的LED芯片46的数量可以被标准化,而不考虑该LCD的屏幕尺寸。
其后,多个LED芯片被安装在PCB 42上。在这种情况下,具有易于导热结构和/或由具有高热传导性的材料制成的基座44被安置在PCB 42和LED芯片46之间,以促进LED芯片46的热辐射。基座44可以具有众所周知的热沉结构,并由众所周知的热沉材料制成。在这种情况下,构造基座44,使不仅一个LED芯片,而是安装在PCB42上的多个LED芯片46,同时地辐射热量。多个LED芯片46可以通过引线接合法或者倒装芯片接合法安装到基座44。
另外,反射体48形成在PCB 42上,以便将从多个LED芯片46产生的并沿不同方向发射的光向上聚光。反射体48以这样的方式实现:构造与LED芯片46的安装表面成特定角度的倾斜表面,围绕多个LED芯片46,然后将金属反射材料镀在所述倾斜表面,或者将特定角度的倾斜金属反射板围绕多个LED芯片46连接。在这种情况下,可以根据要求的亮度特性,调整倾斜反射体的角度。
在多个LED芯片46和反射体48的上方形成镜头50,由透明材料制成,能够使光穿过,并且被构造成条形。在这种情况下,镜头50的反射板可以具有任何构造形状,只要这种构造能够沿近乎水平的方向折射从下方发射的光。
通过树脂来封装多个LED芯片46。优选地,用于该封装的封装材料是软材料,具有低压力或提供对LED芯片的减振。另外,可通过使用折射率类似于镜头50的材料,使减振材料能够让光的发射更容易。
镜头50可以与所述封装材料集成在一起,或者事先形成,然后安装在封装材料上或与封装材料组合。
图5是上述的LED阵列组件的纵向截面图。
如图5所示,LED阵列组件按照这样的方式封装:未经封装的多个LED芯片46,通过具有热沉结构的基座44,安装在PCB 42上,然后,立刻成形反射体48,封装材料49和镜头50。多个LED芯片46排成行,相互以预定间隔分隔开,例如,按照红R、绿G和蓝B的LED芯片的次序排列。可以根据对应的LED芯片46的亮度特性,确定红、绿和蓝LED的次序和比例。
当电信号通过PCB 42施加到LED芯片46,光从LED芯片46辐射。在这种情况下,在LED芯片46中生成的、沿垂直方向漫射的一些光射入镜头50,而以近乎水平方向发射的光都由反射体48反射,以便改变光的路径。这样,发射的各种颜色的光通过反射体48反射,并混合在一起形成白光。该白光最终向上折射并射入镜头50。镜头50用来将射入光的路径改变成沿水平方向的路径。
如上所述,三原色在LED阵列组件40中混合在一起,并且LED阵列组件可以具有统一的散射效应。另外,在通过树脂与预定量的分散剂相互混合形成封装材料49的情况下,三原色可以更统一地混合在一起。
LED阵列组件40按照这样的方式来制造:形成基座44,其具有热沉结构,并包括电子图形,使多个芯片通过倒装芯片接合或引线接合到其上,以及电连接装置,用于将所述电子图形电连接到其下部,将基座44和反射体48安装在PCB 42上,多个LED芯片46接合到基座44,封装LED芯片46,并安装条形镜头50,然后固化。
将本发明的LED阵列组件40构造成具有特定单位尺寸的独立封装。这样,在组装背光单元时,可以在该背光单元中适当安排和使用多个LED阵列组件。
图6是根据本发明的优选实施例的使用LED阵列组件实现的背光单元的顶视图。
在本发明的背光单元60中,阵列组件40被排列成相互之间具有预定间隔的多个行与列。在这种情况下,在每一行,多个LED阵列组件40沿着背光单元60的纵向排列,相互之间以预定间隔分隔开。另外,在两个相邻的行之间,在一行中的每个LED阵列组件40位于面对另外相邻行中两个相邻LED阵列组件之间的间隔的位置。
也即,多个LED阵列组件40在背光单元60中,以规则的菱形图形排列。
当按照上述实现LED阵列组件40,可以得到背光单元60内所有区域的统一亮度特性,并且,较之图2中的背光单元60,LED芯片的数量可以减少。
另外,通过适当地以不同的方式排列本发明的LED阵列组件40,可以实现能够提供符合要求的亮度特性的背光单元60。
例如,根据本发明,将具有单位长度的多个阵列组件40相互连接成行,可以实现两行的LED阵列,如图2所示的背光单元。在这种情况下,由于LED阵列组件40的结构和设计没有被改变,而只是LED阵列组件40的数量增加了,即使屏幕尺寸增加也可组装,因此可以便于背光单元的制造。但是,在这种情况下,难于获得统一的发光特性。
如上所述,本发明提供LED阵列组件,其中多个LED芯片整体封装,这样,用于背光的LED阵列可以廉价和容易地实现,并且,可实现背光单元,不必根据屏幕尺寸改变LED阵列,因此,可以得到普遍的使用。另外,由于按照单位长度实现LED阵列,当故障发生时,只要替换有故障的阵列,而不必替换整个背光单元,这样,本发明的制造高效,而维修也容易。
根据本发明的LED阵列组件和背光单元不限于上述的实施例,在不脱离本发明权利要求书定义的精神和范围内,可以做各种修改和替换。

Claims (7)

1.用作背光光源的发光二极管(LED)阵列组件,包含:
条形印刷电路板(PCB),在其上形成用于传送电力的导电图形;
基座,形成在所述PCB上,并由导热材料制成;
多个LED芯片,安装在所述基座上,排成行,并电连接到所述PCB的所述导电图形;
反射体,围绕所述多个LED芯片形成,并用来反射从所述多个LED向上发射的光;以及
镜头,在所述多个LED芯片和反射体之上形成,具有条形,并用来漫射从所述多个LED芯片和反射体沿水平方向发射的光。
2.如权利要求1所述的LED阵列组件,其中,所述多个LED芯片中的每一个,发射红、绿和蓝光中的一种。
3.如权利要求1所述的LED阵列组件,其中,所述镜头具有可以使光沿着所述组件的纵向漫射的的结构。
4.如权利要求1所述的LED阵列组件,还包括由透明软材料制成的封装材料,以覆盖和保护所述多个LED芯片。
5.如权利要求4所述的LED组件,其中,形成所述镜头,与所述封装材料集成在一起。
6.如权利要求4或5所述的LED组件,其中,所述封装材料由树脂和分散剂相混合的材料制成。
7.一种用于显示装置的背光单元,其中,如权利要求1至6所述的多个LED阵列组件被排列成多个行与列,在每一行,所述LED阵列组件以规则的间隔排列,在两个相邻行的关系中,第一行中的每一个LED阵列组件位于面对第二行中两个相邻LED阵列组件之间的间隔。
