Description
本发明的领域
本发明通常涉及无线数据网的允许控制功能。
本发明的背景技术
无线数据网旨在为用户提供有保证的业务质量(QoS)水平,同时允许网络操作员利用与许多用户共享多个资源的事实(即,不具有多个资源的用户只贡献其自己的要求。)有关的统计复用增益。这部分由于N个复用用户的资源要求(实际上可能突然很多)少于每个用户各个资源要求的总和。
QoS保证需要某种资源分配。根据传统的词汇,分配典型为实际电路和开关的资源的期间是指实际电路的物理连接时间。与传统的词汇相反,当使用统计复用时,保留共享资源存储池的期间是指虚拟电路的“连接(context)”(即逻辑连接)时间。在无线数据网中,该“连接”从启动分组数据协议虚拟电路开始(即运送来自不同外部网的分组)并以关闭分组数据协议虚拟电路结束。这并不混淆在无线数据网中即存在提供给应用的面向连接的业务又存在提供给应用的无连接业务的事实。例如,尽管应用使用无线数据网的互联网协议类型的无连接业务,但是在移动站和基站的网络层之间存在逻辑连接,就是在该层运行允许控制功能。无线数据网的允许控制功能为每次输入的虚拟电路请求确定是否可以得到足够的共享资源的集合存储池以满足虚拟电路的QoS要求。只有当确实需要资源影响数据传送并且只在传送期间,资源才提供给特定的虚拟电路。
为执行资源分配,允许控制功能必须能确定装载到网络的每个成分还有其自己的网络子系统中。这包括但不局限于任何诸如分组数据网、公共交换电话网、无线数据网、或相邻公共陆地移动网,还有其自己的网络子系统和基站子系统的外部网。允许控制功能是允许网络新的业务请求的中心测量联合和判断点。该功能可以放在网络的任何节点,诸如通用分组无线业务(GPRS)支持节点、基站、网络管理中心或移动交换中心,仅举几个例子。
通常,可以两种方式确定到网络特定成分的负荷:(1)通过查看以前允许的业务请求的积累;和(2)通过测量网络的实际负荷。通常由诸如通用支持节点或基站的网络节点执行网络负荷的测量。不幸的是,在确定网络负荷时存在问题,诸如,响应负荷波动和积累业务请求的精确性。
基于测量的方案特别遇到下面的问题。根据这些方法,在测量必须调整到近来网络已经允许的新业务(即业务请求)期间存在延时。在该期间,网络可以接收新的业务请求并在相信该无线数据网具有足够多余的容量支持该请求的情况下,允许该请求。但是,实际上,因为与适于以前允许的业务请求有关的延时,所以该无线数据网不可能具有足够多余的容量。
在异步转移模式(ATM)网中已经调查研究了提供QoS的允许控制功能。这些ATM网以高速(典型地超过150Mbps)运行并通过可靠的有线链路或光纤链路。根据如此之高的传输速度,通过在资源分配中保守和保留多于实现QoS所需的最小带宽,允许控制功能可以不是最佳的。ATM网通常运送包含固定比特率和具有固定延时的可变比特率的QoS混合等级。这些等级希望用于发射话音和视频,其中延时比分配的可靠性更重要(即如果数据延时,则数据被废除而不是可靠地分配)。相反,无线数据网具有相对较低的发射速度,典型地低于200Kbps,可以高度优化无线数据网。此外,在无线数据网中数据可靠性通常比延时更重要。实现通过易受到很大程度干扰的无线数据链路的数据完整性需要诸如前向纠错和自动重复请求的健全的传输链路方法。
得出结论,现有的允许控制功能不足以满足无线数据网中有效资源保留的需求。因此,存在一种改进普通网络和特定混合网的允许控制功能算法的需要,该算法可能包括由于很大程度的干扰呈现有限带宽容量或不可靠性的无线成分。

优选实施例的详细描述
在普通网络和特别的无线数据网中,必须保留资源以便为用户提供确保的业务质量(QoS)值。如前所述,无线数据网的允许控制功能为输入的业务请求决定是否可以得到足够的资源来满足输入业务请求的QoS要求。本发明提供一种确定无线数据网中能否允许额外业务请求(即业务)的方法,同时为网络的每个用户保持通过网络的业务质量值。
参照附图,图1是根据本发明允许无线数据网中新业务(即业务请求)的流程图。在发送任何数据前,由在步骤从移动站发送到基站的业务请求启动允许控制功能。在该业务请求中,移动站必须指定具有诸如平均值比特率、峰值比特率和要求的延时的业务描述符的QoS。存在诸如突发大小、突发时长和占空因数的其它参数,也可以根据选择描述业务请求的特定方法使用它们。
在步骤110利用QoS参数估计新业务请求的有效带宽。图2是表示根据本发明在不同延时约束下带宽利用的图。如图2所示,有效带宽是必须保留以符合QoS要求的带宽量。该值在平均值比特率和峰值比特率之间。实际值依赖用户希望从无线数据网得到什么带宽。每个业务请求的延时要求相应于表示用户可以容忍的延时量的业务级别。例如,如下面的表1所示,GPRS第一级业务请求可以容忍平均0.5s的分组数据单元延时。低延时的请求需要对峰值估计应用更大的加权。发现一种简单的有效带宽估计是平均值和峰值比特率的加权和,其中为业务延时等级固定和预定这些加权。以延时等级的简单查询表的形式实现这些加权值。等级 平均值 95% 平均值 95%

再参照图1,一旦在步骤110估计新业务请求的有效带宽。则在步骤120进行允许判断。通过测试在无线数据网中是否存在足够多余的容纳业务请求的有效带宽的容量来确定允许判断。
图3是表示根据本发明理论信道容量的图。如图3所示,本发明的一个独特属性是组合网络的测量负荷10和新业务请求的有效带宽12,利用具有允许的业务负荷(即新业务请求的有效带宽12)离散调整的递归估计器(参照图4详细描述)以提供网络测量负荷的最佳估计。从理论信道容量34减去有效带宽的当前无线数据网负荷估计30得出多余的容量(未使用的带宽)36。利用递归估计器形式的过滤方法,从测量的负荷样值中确定无线数据网负荷估计30。
图4是根据本发明递归估计器的方框图。递归估计器400具有过滤负荷样值的作用,对越新的样值应用越大的加权,只要希望负荷突然变化时(即当允许新的呼叫或结束呼叫时)也可以加入偶尔的校正。算法如下:
●递归估计器400用于估计当前使用/未使用的带宽;当允
许或结束呼叫时增加/减少平均值速率作为校正;
●新呼叫的带宽要求估计为峰值和平均值速率的加权和;
●如果新呼叫的带宽要求少于所估计的未使用带宽则允许呼
叫。
递归估计器400的参数“a”叫做滤波器增益,在优选实施例中a控制递归估计器400的能力以响应业务负荷波动。必须根据占优势的系统状态设置参数“a”。接近于1的值使得递归估计器400更缓慢(但不易于随机波动),但是较小的值使得递归估计器400更快地反应网络改变。参数值必须限制在0和1之间。因为对估计加入校正的可能性,在连接次数迅速改变期间(例如在网络建立期间),递归估计器400最有利。
回到图1,当可以得到足够的多余容量时,如步骤150所示,允许控制功能向移动站发送允许。作为响应,在步骤160对递归估计器400应用新带宽(即新业务请求的有效带宽)的离散调整。以这种方式,由递归估计器400瞬时调整负荷估计新业务请求的有效带宽。这样做避免在递归估计器400由于新允许的业务(即新业务请求)到达稳定的状态之前再允许另外的业务请求。在最后一步,利用递归估计器400在步骤170监视无线数据网的负荷,结果消除新业务请求的有效带宽和实际的允许业务的任何偏差。
当在步骤120不能得到足够的多余容量时,在步骤130允许控制功能估计可以得到的带宽和估计可以提供的带宽。步骤140确定是否有可得到的带宽。如果可以得到带宽,则在步骤150允许控制功能发送表示业务请求可以使用的带宽量的允许。如果在步骤140没有得到带宽,则采取步骤180并且允许控制功能拒绝业务请求并且通知移动站该拒绝。收到拒绝后,如果可以容纳较低峰值、平均值数据速率或较长延时,则移动站修改请求并提交一个新的业务请求。如果是这种情况,移动站启动新的请求并且整个过程重新开始。
在优选实施例中,在确定是否允许新业务中使用了一种混合允许控制功能算法。该混合算法具有三种内部控制参数:(1)滤波器增益;(2)延时监视的平均间隔;和(3)延时的正常门限。这些参数只在网络内部并且可以根据占优势的业务状态设置。这些参数只用于控制允许控制功能并不在移动站和网络之间交换。混合允许控制功能算法利用网络测量负荷和延时的组合。该混合技术只在两项标准都可接受时才接受业务请求。上面参照图1到图2描述网络的测量负荷。延时监视直接估计标准化分组延时,而不是依赖类似无线数据网测量负荷的间接集合标识符。从测验延时和请求的QoS的比值得到标准化延时。因此,延时监视可以检测尽管无线数据网的符合相对较低但QoS要求不符合的情况。延时监视算法如下:
●保持每个QoS等级中导致的最新标准化网络层PDU延时
平均值的估计值;和
●只要估计的延时小于所有QoS等级的门限则允许新的业
务请求。
在混合技术中,业务质量参数是延时和比特率。延时是当传送分组通过无线数据网时移动站经历的平均分组数据单元延时。每个业务请求相应于表示业务请求可以容忍的延时量的业务等级。比特率是分组数据单元通过无线数据网的传输速率。因此,在混合技术中,允许控制功能确定无线数据网中是否存在足够的多余容量以容纳业务请求和确定无线数据网中的平均分组数据单元延时是否小于业务请求中QoS参数表示的指定延时。如果两个标准都符合,则同意业务请求。
根据前面的描述各种替换、改变和改进对本领域技术人员来说都很明显。虽然已经结合特定的实施例描述的本发明。因此本发明在其更广泛的方面并不局限于表示和描述的特定细节、表示的装置和说明的例子。因此,可以理解本发明并不局限于前面的描述,但覆盖根据所附权利要求书的精神和范围的所有替换、改进和改变。
Claims (10)
1.一种在具有业务质量参数的无线数据网中允许具有业务质量要求的新业务请求的方法,包括:
接收来自移动站的具有业务质量要求的业务请求;
利用递归估计器估计无线数据网中的负荷以便提供负荷估计;
确定业务请求的有效带宽;
确定无线数据网的业务质量参数满足业务请求的业务质量要求;
允许业务请求;和
根据业务请求的有效带宽,利用递归估计器对负荷估计进行离散调整。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,其中业务质量参数是基于延时。
3.根据权利要求2的方法,其中延时是当传送分组通过无线数据网时移动站经历的平均分组数据单元延时。
4.根据权利要求1的方法,其中业务质量参数是基于比特率。
5.根据权利要求4的方法,其中比特率是分组数据单元通过无线数据网中的传输速率。
6.根据权利要求1的方法,其中业务质量参数是基于延时和比特率。
7.根据权利要求6的方法,其中延时是当传送分组通过无线数据网时移动站经历的平均分组数据单元延时,比特率是分组数据单元通过无线数据网中的传输速率。
8.根据权利要求1的方法,其中每个业务请求的业务质量要求相应于表示业务请求可以容忍的延时量的业务等级。
9.根据权利要求8的方法,其中确定步骤包括确定无线数据网中存在足够的多余容量以容纳业务请求和确定无线数据网中的平均分组数据单元延时小于业务请求的业务等级表示的指定延时。
10.一种允许无线数据网络中新业务的装置,包括:
接收来自移动站的具有有效带宽的业务请求的接收机;
向移动站发射允许授权的发射机;和
响应允许授权,提供负荷估计的递归估计器,负荷估计是无线数据网中负荷的估计值,以便根据业务请求的有效带宽进行负荷估计的调整。
