Abstract

一种DVD(数字多用途盘)重放装置,其能精确区分混合盘以避免安装在其中的可记录CD(致密盘)受到DVD/MMCD激光束的损坏。混合盘包括在衬底上形成的印有标签的面,在印有标签的面下方形成的具有表示盘类型的标识信息的CD记录面,和在CD记录面下面形成的DVD记录面。DVD重放装置发射CD激光束到光盘上。如果光盘上数据可读,检查是否标识信息记录在预定的记录域中。如果标识信息记录在预定记录域中,则将光盘视为混合盘。

Description

混合盘及其区分方法
本发明涉及一种光盘重放装置,尤其涉及一种混合盘及其区分方法。
数字多用盘(以后,简称为“DVD”)的重放装置可以重放CD(致密盘)和DVD。因此,DVD重放装置具有区分装入其中的盘的类型的功能,以依据盘类型设置正确的重放模式。
在区分盘的类型过程中,当装入盘时,DVD重放装置检查装入的盘是一个DVD还是一个CD,并且根据被检测的盘类型设置正确的重放模式。更具体地,当装入盘时DVD重放装置向盘的表面发射波长为650nm的用于DVD/MMCD的激光束(以后,简称为“DVD/MMCD激光束”),以读取记录在其上的数据。此刻,如果记录在盘上的数据是可读的,DVD重放装置将载入的盘视作DVD并且开始读取和重放记录在DVD上的数据。然而,相反,如果记录在载入盘上的数据是不可读的,则DVD重放装置向盘的表面发射一波长为780nm的用于CD的激光束(以后,简称为“CD激光束”)以读取记录在载入盘上的数据。如果记录在盘上的数据是可读的,则DVD重放装置将载入盘视为CD,并且开始读取和重放记录在其上的数据。
然而,不同于通常的CD(例如只读CD),当可记录CD盘暴露于650nm波长的激光束时,可能会被损坏。为避免可记录CD盘受到DVD/MMCD激光束的损坏,一种改进的DVD重放装置首先检查安装的盘是否为CD,若不是CD再检查安装的盘是否是DVD。
随着多用途光记录介质需求的增长,提出了一种既与CD重放装置又与DVD重放装置相兼容的混合盘。这样的混合盘适用于CD-ROM/DVD-ROM,视频-CD/DVD-视频,CD-DA(数字音频)/DVD音频等等。
参见图1,该混合盘由具有12cm直径和1.2mm厚度的多元碳酸盐衬底组成。该混合盘包括位于印有标签A的层A下约5μm的CD记录面B,和位于印有标签的层A下约0.6mm的DVD/MMCD记录面C。CD记录面B具有约70%的反射率,而DVD/MMCD记录面C具有约30%的反射率。作为结合了CD和DVD的记录介质,该混合盘在CD重放装置中被当作CD,在DVD重放装置中被当作DVD。CD数据记录在CD记录面B上,DVD数据记录在DVD/MMCD记录面C上。
从而,CD重放装置向混合盘发射CD激光束,以读取记录在CD记录面B上的数据,并且DVD重放装置向混合盘发射DVD/MMCD激光束,以读取记录在DVD/MMCD记录面C上的数据。
然而,如上所述,在DVD重放装置首先检测安装的盘是否是CD以避免在区分盘类型的过程中损坏CD的情况下,DVD重放装置通过读取记录在混合盘的CD记录面B上的数据可能会将混合盘误识别为CD。
本发明的目的在于提供一改进混合盘及精确区别一混合盘的方法,从而避免可记录CD受到DVD/MMCD激光束损坏。
为取得上述和其它目的,一个混合盘包括一个衬底;一个形成在衬底上的印有标签的面;在印有标签的面下面形成的CD记录面,具有记录在预定的记录区中标识表示盘类型的识别信息;和在CD记录面下形成的DVD记录面。
进一步地,在DVD重放装置中区分混合盘的方法包括步骤:向安装在DVD重放装置中的光盘发射CD激光束;如果数据可从光盘中读出,检查标识信息是否记录在预定记录区中;并且如果标识信息记录在预定记录区中,则将光盘视为混合盘。
结合附图,通过下面对实施例的详细描述,本发明的特征和优点将变得更明显,其中:
图1示出一已知的混合盘;
图2是可以应用本发明的DVD重放装置的示意方块图;
图3是依据本发明优选实施例的用于区分混合盘的流程图。
本发明的一个优选实施例将结合附图详细描述。尽管以举例的方式如详细流程图这样的具体实施例来详细地定义和描述本发明的主题物,但是本发明可由熟知本领域的技术人员在甚至没有细节情形下利用本发明的描述可以实现本发明。此外,在此免除广泛熟知的功能和结构的不必要详细描述。
依据本发明优选实施例的混合盘具有表示盘类型的识别信息,该信息记录在诸如文件、扇区、TOC(内容表)等在图1CD记录面B中一般不使用的特定记录区中。在DVD重放装置区分盘类型时,使用该标识信息。
图2示出本发明可应用的DVD重放装置的方块图。如图所示,光盘10由主轴电机12旋转。光拾取器14在微处理器20的控制下,发射波长为780nm的CD激光束或者波长650nm的DVD/MMCD激光束到旋转光盘10的表面上,以读取记录在光盘10上的数据。读取的数据在RF(射频)模块16放大和整形。伺服电路18按照从RF模块16接收的伺服信息控制主轴电机12和光拾取器14。
从RF模块16输出的数据由纠错和系统分析器26处理,并且由AV(音频-视频)解码器24解码。解码数据的视频数据和音频数据分别由视频处理器28和音频处理器30转换成视频信号和音频信号。微处理器20控制DVD重放装置的全部操作。用户接口22允许用户输入各种控制命令并在微处理器20的控制下在其上显示各种信息。
现在,参照图2和3详细描述依据本发明的区分盘的过程。
如果光盘10安装在图2的DVD重放装置中,在步骤32中,光拾取器14在微处理器20的控制下向光盘10的表面发射波长为780nm的CD激光束。这里,如果光盘10是一混合盘,则光拾取器14读取记录在CD记录面B上的数据;否则,如果光盘10是一CD(例如,只读CD)或一可记录CD,则光拾取器14在微处理器20的控制下读取记录在CD或可记录CD上的数据。
接着,在步骤34中,微处理器20检查在载入光盘10上记录的数据是否可读。如果数据是可读的,则在步骤36中,光拾取器14在微处理器20的控制下读取记录在载入光盘10的预定区域上的数据。必须注意,混合盘具有记录在特定区域上的标识信息,而CD或可记录CD不具有记录在其上的标识信息。
在步骤38,微处理器20检查由预定区域读出的数据是否为表示混合盘的标识信息。其结果,如果读出数据是标识数据,则微处理器20将载入光盘10视为混合盘,然后进入到步骤40。然而,如果读取数据不是标识数据,微处理器20将载入盘10做为CD或可记录CD,并且进入到步骤42。
然后,用户接口22在其上显示表示安装的光盘10是一混合盘的消息并且用户在微处理器20的控制下选择CD重放模式或DVD重放模式之一。为了回应该消息,在步骤40,用户通过用户接口22选择两种重放方式中的一种。如果用户选择CD重放模式,则过程进入步骤42以执行CD重放模式。相反,如果用户选择DVD重放模式,则过程进入步骤44以执行DVD重放模式。
如果在步骤34中记录在载入光盘10上的数据是不可读的,则光拾取器14在微处理器20的控制下向载入光盘10发射波长650nm的DVD/MMCD激光束。在此,如果载入光盘10是DVD,则DVD重放装置可以读取数据。然而,如果载入盘10是诸如MD(小盘)和MOD(磁光盘)的不同类型盘,则DVD重放装置不能读取数据。
微处理器20在步骤48检查数据是否可读。如果数据是可读的,则微处理器20将载入光盘10视为DVD并且在步骤44中设置DVD重放模式。如果数据是不可读的,则认为安装的盘既不是CD也不是DVD。从而,DVD重放装置在步骤50中进行区分其它盘类型的处理。
总之,在可记录CD被安装的情形下,DVD重放装置发射波长为780nm的CD激光束到可记录CD上。如果数据是可读的,则DVD重放装置读取记录在预定记录域中的数据。。由于可记录CD在预定记录区域中不具有标识信息,因此DVD重放装置将可记录CD视为一般CD(例如只读CD),并且设置CD重放模式。即,DVD重放装置不发射波长为650nm的DVD/MMCD激光束到可记录CD的表面上,从而可记录CD不会被损坏。
进一步,在混合盘被安装的情形下,DVD重放装置发射CD激光束。如果数据是可读的,则DVD重放装置读取记录在混合盘预定记录区域中的标识信息。其结果,DVD重放装置将载入的CD盘视为混合盘,并且在用户接口22上显示表示用户应选择CD重放模式和DVD回放模式之一的信息。然后,DVD重放装置依据用户选择设置CD重放模式和DVD重放模式之一。当然,DVD重放装置可以自动选择两种操作模式之一。
进一步地,在DVD被安装的情形下,DVD重放装置向DVD上发射CD激光束。在这种情形下,由于数据是不可读的,则DVD重放装置再向DVD发射DVD/MMCD激光束,以读取记录其上的数据。
由上面进行的描述可以清楚,本发明的DVD重放装置可以精确区分混合盘并且避免DVD/MMCD激光束损坏可记录CD。
尽管本发明的目的优选实施例在上面做了详细描述,必须明白呈现给熟知本领域的技术人员的这里所讲的基本发明概念的很多变形和/或修改都将如在附属权利要求书所定义的落入本发明的精神和范围内。

Claims (7)

1.一种混合盘包括:
一衬底;
在所述衬底上形成的印有标签的面;
具有表示盘类型的标识信息的第一记录面,该识别信息记录在预定记录区域中,所述的第一记录面在所述印有标签的面以下第一间隔处形成;和
第二记录面,其在所述印有标签的面以下第二间隔处形成;
其中所述第二间隔比第一间隔大。
2.依据权利要求1的混合盘,其中所述第一记录面是其上记录CD数据的CD(致密盘)记录面,其中所述的第二记录面是其上记录DVD数据的DVD(数字多用途盘)记录面。
3.依据权利要求2的混合盘,其中所述预定记录区域是未使用的一文件、一扇区、或者TOC(内容表)。
4.一种在DVD重放装置中区分混合盘的方法,所述的混合盘具有被记录在预定记录区域的代表盘类型的标识信息,该方法包括步骤:
向安装在所述DVD重放装置中的光盘发射一CD激光束;
如果数据从所述光盘可读,检查标识信息是否记录在所述预定区域;和
如果所述标识信息记录在所述预定记录区域,将所述光盘视为混合盘。
5.依据权利要求4的用于区分混合盘的方法,进一步包括步骤:如果所述的标识信息没有记录在所述预定记录域中,则设定CD重放模式。
6.依据权利要求4的用于区分混合盘的方法,进一步包括步骤:
如果所述标识信息记录在所述预定记录域中,则显示请求选择CD重放模式和DVD重放模式之一的消息;和
依据选择的重放模式有选择地设定CD重放模式和DVD重放模式之一。
7.依据权利要求16的用于区分混合盘的方法,其中所述预定记录区域是未使用的一文件、一扇区、或TOC(内容表)。
