Abstract

Description

手表式无线电话
本发明涉及包括双向无线电话电路、麦克风、扬声器和显示屏的一种手表式无线电话。
从英国专利申请GB2 171 821中知道这种手表式无线电话。GB2171 821中描述了一种电子手表和双向无线电通信系统的结合体。手表的表带包含有天线。正如对于GB2 171 821的图1和2所描述的那样,手表的壳体内包括麦克风、LCD显示器,以及便于允许和其它用户进行无线通信的双向电话电路,这些用户已在支持这种手表式无线电话的电话系统上进行了登记。
此外,从PCT专利申请WO94/19736中还知道一种为了和计算机进行无线电通信的便携式无线数据收集终端,它具有矩阵型触摸感应的或笔可激活的位映象的显示屏。该显示屏既可构造成一个键盘进行字母符号的手工输入,又可显示字母数字混合的和图形的数据。这样一种数据终端可用来,例如,以字母数字混合及以图形显示用户发票并发送作为发票确认凭证的用户签名。
此外,从US专利No.5,231,381中也可以知道这种交互显示器。
此外,作为一种便携式笔电脑的所谓PDA(私人数字助理)是熟知的,这些PDA具有一个交互显示器。
以上的现有技术文献均未全面考虑人的因素,而这些因素对于得到真正的多媒体微型便携式无线双向电话来讲应当被考虑。
本发明的一个目的就是提供一种具有手表外表的真正的多媒体无线双向电话。
为此,相应于本发明的手表式无线电话的特征在于其显示屏为交互显示屏以便至少部分地形成图形用户接口。本发明基于要得到真正多媒体无线双向电话必须考虑所有相关的人的因素这一见解上,即要考虑到电话的扬声器要接近电话用户的耳朵,麦克风离用户嘴部比较近,可读性,交互显示屏在用户眼睛的可读距离内,便于携带,单片装置等。
相应于本发明的手表式无线电话的一个实施例中,交互显示屏是矩阵型的以允许屏幕坐标的笔感应激活,和/或是某一类型的以允许屏幕坐标的手指感应激活。用此方法对于显示和输入功能可得到极大的灵活性。
相应于本发明的手表式电话的另外一个实施例中,电话包括被连接到交互显示屏的微控制器,其中,安排该微控制器与双向电话电路协同操作以便允许来自远端的交互消息被显示在交互显示屏上。用此方法,手表式电话的用户可得到来自远端用户的可视显示消息并能交互地对此消息做出反应。比如,对近端和远端用户来讲,交互显示器可被用作共享的工作区。
相应于本发明的手表式电话的另一个实施例中,扬声器是附在电话用户耳旁或在耳中的无线扬声器,无线扬声器和手表式无线电话包括交换调制的音频信号的相应的发射机和接收机。这样,用户就有最大的移动自由而不被不必要的连接线所困扰。
相应于本发明的手表式电话的另一个实施例中,电话包括用于控制至少一个手表功能的手表钮以及将手表钮的旋转置换成电控制信号的旋转→电转换器,该转换器被连到微控制器。由此,交互活动得到进一步加强。手表钮可用来控制常规的手表功能,还可通过旋转手表钮以沿电话号码表滚动以选择显示在交互显示器上的电话号码表中的姓名,并通过按下手表钮或通过感应笔与交互显示屏协作确认所需输入,或通过类似方式来选择所需输入。对于特殊功能,可使用与微控制器有合适接口的其它手表钮。
相应于本发明的手表式电话的另一个实施例中,组合使用麦克风、手表钮和交互显示屏以便形成一个组合的用户接口。麦克风可用于控制命令的语音输入,手表钮和交互显示器的功能如前所述。例如,命令可能是启动显示器上的电话号码表的显示的“拨号”。接着可以使用手表钮在电话号码表上选择一个输入,并可以使用激活笔确认选定的输入。
相应于本发明的手表式电话的另一个实施例中,电话包括识别通过麦克风输入的语音命令的语音识别电路,语音识别电路被连到微控制器。用此方法,用户的口头命令可被识别。例如口头命令识别可用于语音拨号。当使用语音拨号或其它口头命令的输入时,显示器可以是常规显示器。
为了在相应于本发明的手表式电话中引入类似PDA的功能,安排了微控制器识别交互显示屏上的手写信息或命令。
相应于本发明的手表式电话的实施例中,调制电话信号的电话天线和用于与无线扬声器进行无线通信的扬声器天线内置于手表式电话的表带中。手表式电话具备诸如相应于GSM或DECT系统或相应于任何其它的用于电话信号的无线传送的适当系统的蜂窝或无绳电话功能。手表式电话和无线扬声器间的无线连接可以是应用数字调制技术如FSK或PSK的极低功率FM连接,或任何其它适当的无线连接或调制技术。

图1简要示出电话系统1,它包括相应于本发明的手表式无线电话2和3,在所给的例子中,系统1是符合ETSI(欧洲电信标准组织)所标定的DECT标准(欧洲数字无绳电信系统)的数字无绳电话系统,然而该系统也可以是任何适当的无线电话系统或有电话业务的无线LAN(局域网络),或诸如此类的系统。系统1包括连接到公用电话交换网6的无线基站4和5。有权与无线基站4和5通信的无线电话2和3被安排与无线基站4和5进行双向通信。无线电话2和3可以彼此通信,也可与固定网络话机7或任何其它适当的设备通信。
图2示出相应于本发明的手表式无线电话2的一个实施例,它包括作为图形用户接口的交互显示屏10、麦克风11、手表钮12、表带13和电池盒14。手表式无线电话2还包括将在后面描述的电路。
图3示出相应于本发明的手表式无线电话2的无线扬声器20,它包括带有集成无线电接收机(通用类型,未详述)的扬声器21和带有集成无线电天线(未详述)的耳架22。在手表式无线电话2的一个优选实施例中采用无线扬声器20,但是另一个实施例中的扬声器可以是有线类型的扬声器,它或是集成在无线电话2中,或是用电线连接到无线电话2上(未详述)。
图4示出相应于本发明的与交互显示器10协同操作的专用笔30,这样的笔可在市场上买到。显示屏10可以是矩阵型LCD屏,比如最高可达480乘320象素。在和显示侧相对的一侧,屏幕可包括用于进行笔30所触屏幕位置或区域的检测的笔传感器。屏幕也可制成对用户手指的触摸感应的。这种笔屏结合体在以往技术中是熟知的,此处不再详述。
图5示出相应于本发明的手表式无线电话2的电路图。无线电话2包括含有接收机前端41、混频器42和解调器43的接收机40。接收机40可接收语音和数据以便允许多媒体通信。无线电话2还包括含有脉冲整形网络45、调制器46、混频器47和发射功率放大器48的发射机44。在RF侧,接收机40和发射机44连到与天线50相连的接收/发射开关49上。天线50优选地内置于表带13中。在LF侧,接收机40和发射机44被连到用于处理语音和/或数据的音频/数据处理器51。对于语音传输,音频/数据处理器51按照DECT标准处理来自麦克风11的语音信号。对于数据传输,音频/数据处理器51接收从微控制器52传来的数据,该微控制器也负责手表式无线电话2的总体控制。电话2还包括连在麦克风11和微控制器52之间的语音识别电路53。电路53可能包括独立的并适当地编程的数字信号处理器,该数字信号处理器帮助微控制器52识别来自无线电话2的用户的口头或手写命令。无线电话2还包括用于发送调制音频信号到扬声器接收机55的发射机54。发射机和接收机之间的无线链路优选为采用FM调制的极低功率无线链路,但也可以是任何其它适当的无线链路如红外链路。手表钮12通过旋转→电转换器56连到微控制器52上,以允许使用手表钮以控制电话2的功能。为了调谐,无线电话包括一个可控频率源57。所有上面描述的硬件使得手表式无线电话2特别适合作为一种微型真正多媒体电话,麦克风11、表钮12和与交互显示器协同操作的专用笔30构成了一个微型且易于携带的多媒体用户接口。
图6A和6B示出相应于本发明的手表式无线电话2的显示器10上的姓名拨号。当用户在显示屏10的主菜单(未详示)上选择姓名拨号时,如图6A所示,存储在微控制器52中的带有电话号码的名单显示在显示屏10上。这个名单可以通过旋动手表钮12以及通过在显示屏10上相应地移动一个高亮度窗口而在显示器上滚动。在所给的例子中,显示出姓名“Baker”、“Brown”和“Duke”以及各自的电话分机“473”、“320”和“527”。当用户在名单中找到了正确的输入时,他可以激活笔感应区61以开始拨号,比如“Brown”一例,或按下手表钮12。这里的拨号协议采用常规的拨号协议,此处不再详述。图6B中以确认交互消息的形式示出了另一种姓名拨号形式。在近端,用户接收到显示器上的消息:“你告诉我拨号:Duke 527”。通过显示器11上相应的笔感应区62和63,可以以肯定的或否定的形式对这一消息作出响应。
图7A和7B示出相应于本发明的手表式无线电话2的显示器10上的消息。图7A中示出了接收的消息,它可以是文本消息或者是口头消息,用户通过笔感应区“语音”或“文本”来选择方式。图7B中示出了消息的生成,或以语音方式或以笔方式。在语音方式时,要生成的消息是口头的。于是识别电路53与微控制器52协同操作识别口头命令“到”、“从”和“消息”,所识别的口头姓名和所识别的标准消息可以填到各自的输入上。在另一个实施例中,用户也许会被要求确认识别的姓名。在笔方式时,姓名和标准消息可通过以手表钮12滚动的清单来选择并用笔来确认输入。在后一种方式中,消息也可以通过把部分显示器10设置成字母数字混合键盘并通过以笔30选择字母数字字符来生成和输入。
图8A和8B示出相应于本发明的手表式无线电话2的显示器10上的信息。图8A中,显示器10用来显示远端的主叫用户-ID。在笔激活笔感应区80时近端用户可选择应答/连接方式,在笔激活笔感应区81时近端用户可选择忽略/拆线方式。图8B中,显示器10被用作显示电文消息的屏幕,其页码是用笔选择的。在后一个实施例中,电话系统1配有电文服务器以提供这样的消息。在另一种方式中,显示屏可用作微型TV屏以显示接收到的TV节目。在这种方式中,系统1配有TV服务器并有足够的传输带宽来传送可接受的TV信息。
图9示出相应于本发明的用作共享显示屏10的两部手表式无线电话2和3的显示器。显示屏10A代表手表式无线电话2的物理屏,显示屏10B代表手表式无线电话3的物理屏。两条垂直的粗线90和91代表手表式无线电话2和3之间的电话连接。在这种共享交互工作区方式下,相应的手表式无线电话中的微控制器被编程,以使得一个用户对笔感应区的激活和对显示屏书写区的笔书写被编码并被传送到另一个用户,反之亦然。

Claims (13)

1.一种手表式无线电话,包括双向无线电话电路、麦克风、扬声器和显示屏,其特征在于,显示屏是交互显示屏以便至少部分地形成图形用户接口。
2.相应于权利要求1的手表式无线电话,其特征在于,其中交互显示屏是矩阵型的以允许屏幕坐标的笔感应激活。
3.相应于权利要求1或2的手表式无线电话,其特征在于,其中交互显示屏是某一类型的以允许屏幕坐标的手指感应激活。
4.相应于权利要求1,2或3的手表式无线电话包括被连到交互显示屏的微控制器,其特征在于,该微控制器被安排与双向电话电路协同操作以便允许来自远端的交互消息被显示在交互显示屏上。
5.相应于权利要求1,2,3或4的手表式无线电话,其特征在于,其中扬声器是附在电话用户耳旁或耳中的无线扬声器,该无线扬声器和手表式无线电话包括交换调制的音频信号的相应的发射机和接收机。
