Fig. 1 shows a flowchart of a method for recommending videos according to an embodiment of the present application, the method including step S11 and step S12. In step S11, when the user browses the first video information in the video application, the computer device determines whether the current time reaches a predetermined time node; in step S12, if yes, the computer device displays browsing prompt information corresponding to the time node to the user, switches the video application to a temporary recommendation mode in response to an access operation performed by the user for the browsing prompt information, and recommends at least one second video information associated with the time node to the user.
In step S11, when the user browses the first video information in the video application, the computer device determines whether the current time reaches a predetermined time node. In some embodiments, when the user swipes a video in the video application, it is determined whether the current time reaches a predetermined time node, wherein the time node may be a specific time, such as 12 pm and 6 pm, or the time node may be a time period, such as 12 pm-1 pm and 6 pm-7 pm, or the time node may be a specific day, such as a working day, a non-working day, a holiday, etc.
In step S12, if yes, the computer device displays browsing prompt information corresponding to the time node to the user, switches the video application to a temporary recommendation mode in response to an access operation performed by the user for the browsing prompt information, and recommends at least one second video information associated with the time node to the user. In some embodiments, the currently played video in the video application is the first video, and if the current time reaches a predetermined time node in the playing process of the first video, the playing of the first video may be immediately paused and the browsing prompt information corresponding to the time node is displayed to the user, or alternatively, the playing of the first video may be first waited for to end, and then the next predetermined video corresponding to the first video is not played first for a while, but the browsing prompt information corresponding to the time node is displayed to the user first. For example, if the predetermined time node is 12 pm-1 pm, then if the current time reaches the predetermined time node, the browsing prompt message "starving bar, do not want to take a single food for takeout? If the user performs an access operation with respect to the browsing prompt information, for example, if the user selects yes in the pop-up window, the video application is switched to a temporary recommendation mode, at this time, at least one piece of second video information associated with the predetermined time node is recommended to the user in the video application, for example, if the predetermined time node is 12 pm-1 pm, at this time, in the temporary recommendation mode, at least one piece of second video having an association relationship with the predetermined time node is recommended to the user in the video application, for example, the second video may be a takeaway introduction video or a restaurant introduction video, and for example, if the predetermined time node is a non-working day, the second video recommended to the user in the temporary recommendation mode may be a play place introduction video. In some embodiments, in the process of browsing at least one second video in the temporary recommendation mode, the user may exit the temporary recommendation mode at any time, and at this time, the video application may continue to play the previously paused first video that is not played, or may normally continue to play the next established video corresponding to the first video, or may renew a batch of new videos, and then continue to play the first video in the batch of new videos. In some embodiments, if the user does not perform the access operation for the browsing prompt message after time out, or if the user performs the ignore operation for the browsing prompt message, for example, if the user selects no in the popup window, the next predetermined video corresponding to the first video will be normally played continuously, or the first video that is paused before and that is not played completely will be played continuously. According to the method and the device, in the process of refreshing the video by the user, when the current time reaches the preset time node, the video application is automatically switched to the temporary recommendation mode, the video content which is currently interested by the user is recommended to the user under the temporary recommendation model, interaction between the video application and the user is realized, the situation that the user receives the video completely and passively at present can be changed to a certain extent, and the requirements of the user can be better met.

It should be noted that the present application may be implemented in software and/or a combination of software and hardware, for example, implemented using Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), general purpose computers or any other similar hardware devices. In one embodiment, the software programs of the present application may be executed by a processor to implement the steps or functions described above. Likewise, the software programs (including associated data structures) of the present application may be stored in a computer readable recording medium, such as RAM memory, magnetic or optical drive or diskette and the like. Further, some of the steps or functions of the present application may be implemented in hardware, for example, as circuitry that cooperates with the processor to perform various steps or functions.
Additionally, some portions of the present application may be applied as a computer program product, such as computer program instructions, which, when executed by a computer, may invoke or provide the method and/or solution according to the present application through the operation of the computer. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that the form in which the computer program instructions reside on a computer-readable medium includes, but is not limited to, source files, executable files, installation package files, and the like, and that the manner in which the computer program instructions are executed by a computer includes, but is not limited to: the computer directly executes the instruction, or the computer compiles the instruction and then executes the corresponding compiled program, or the computer reads and executes the instruction, or the computer reads and installs the instruction and then executes the corresponding installed program. Computer-readable media herein can be any available computer-readable storage media or communication media that can be accessed by a computer.
Communication media includes media by which communication signals, including, for example, computer readable instructions, data structures, program modules, or other data, are transmitted from one system to another. Communication media may include conductive transmission media such as cables and wires (e.g., fiber optics, coaxial, etc.) and wireless (non-conductive transmission) media capable of propagating energy waves such as acoustic, electromagnetic, RF, microwave, and infrared. Computer readable instructions, data structures, program modules, or other data may be embodied in a modulated data signal, for example, in a wireless medium such as a carrier wave or similar mechanism such as is embodied as part of spread spectrum techniques. The term "modulated data signal" means a signal that has one or more of its characteristics set or changed in such a manner as to encode information in the signal. The modulation may be analog, digital or hybrid modulation techniques.
By way of example, and not limitation, computer-readable storage media may include volatile and nonvolatile, removable and non-removable media implemented in any method or technology for storage of information such as computer-readable instructions, data structures, program modules or other data. For example, computer-readable storage media include, but are not limited to, volatile memory such as random access memory (RAM, DRAM, SRAM); and non-volatile memory such as flash memory, various read-only memories (ROM, PROM, EPROM, EEPROM), magnetic and ferromagnetic/ferroelectric memories (MRAM, feRAM); and magnetic and optical storage devices (hard disk, magnetic tape, CD, DVD); or other now known media or later developed that are capable of storing computer-readable information/data for use by a computer system.
An embodiment according to the present application comprises an apparatus comprising a memory for storing computer program instructions and a processor for executing the program instructions, wherein the computer program instructions, when executed by the processor, trigger the apparatus to perform a method and/or a solution according to the aforementioned embodiments of the present application.
It will be evident to those skilled in the art that the present application is not limited to the details of the foregoing illustrative embodiments, and that the present application may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or essential attributes thereof. The present embodiments are therefore to be considered in all respects as illustrative and not restrictive, the scope of the application being indicated by the appended claims rather than by the foregoing description, and all changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are therefore intended to be embraced therein. Any reference sign in a claim should not be construed as limiting the claim concerned. Furthermore, it is obvious that the word "comprising" does not exclude other elements or steps, and the singular does not exclude the plural. A plurality of units or means recited in the apparatus claims may also be implemented by one unit or means in software or hardware. The terms first, second, etc. are used to denote names, but not any particular order.
