Abstract
一种加强织物,包括加强经线和在200℉至300℉熔融的线。当织物被轧光和放入弹性基质中时,纬线使经线之间相对固定,纬线在 规的弹性体固化温度下熔融,在固化的复合材料中形成聚合物区。此加强织物在作为V形带的加强物方面具有特殊的用途。
Description
本发明涉及加强织物及其在传动带中,如在多-V带中的应用。
已知在橡胶制品中,尤其当使用了层状织物层时,织物加强件起到加劲作用。在使用层状织物层时,橡胶制品中每层的加强线通常以不同的角度"叠合",由于每层中的加强线具有不同的主要加劲角并互相影响,因而提高了这种加劲作用。
在某些橡胶制品中,加强是为了在传动运作中防止制品伸长或增大,或是为了保证强度。例如,在传动带中,通过采用能保证带传动强度的线就可以达到在带传动方向上的加强,而且,与传动方向垂直的加强有助于使用时保证带的完整,即"垂直"加强有助于防止传动线分离。
然而,在传动带中刚劲并非所希望的性能,因为带必须很容易地环绕着皮带轮和/或有时直径相对小的皮带轮弯曲。在这种应用中,加劲就相当于阻力,并且使采用了这种带的传动系统的功率降低。
因此,本发明的一个目的在于提供一种加强织物,它能够掺入弹性制品中,基本在一个方向上保证强度,并提供由这种加强织物制成的弹性制品。本发明的其它目的可从下面的说明书和权利要求书中明显地看出。
本发明涉及一种织物,它包含第一组基本平行的经向线或经向长丝,选自棉、人造纤维、聚酯、尼龙、聚乙烯醇、玻璃纤维、钢、芳族聚酰胺、碳及它们的混合物;以及第二组熔融温度为200°F至300°F的纬向线或纬向长丝。第一种具体情况,织物中第一和第二组的线或长丝交织。第二种具体情况,第一和第二组的线或长丝互相接触但未交织。在第二种具体情况中,经向线或经向长丝与纬向线或纬向长丝通过一种强度可忽略的长丝彼此相对固定。
纬向线或纬向长丝可包含聚丙烯、聚乙烯或它们的混合物。
本发明还提供了一种复合材料,包含未固化的弹性基质及织物加强物,该织物加强物包含第一组基本平行的经向线或经向长丝,选自棉、人造纤维、聚酯、尼龙、聚乙烯醇、玻璃纤维、钢、芳族聚酰胺、碳及它们的混合物,以及第二组熔融温度为200°F至300°F的纬向线或纬向长丝,基本如上所述。
在织物和复合材料的一种情况中,织物可含有在第一和第二组线或长丝之上、之下或环绕着第一和第二组线或长丝结成圈环的交织线或交织长丝。
本发明还提供了一种制备纺织品的方法,包括步骤(a)将选自棉、人造纤维、聚酯、尼龙、聚乙烯醇、玻璃纤维、钢、芳族聚酰胺、碳及它们的混合物的第一组线或长丝排列得基本上互相平行,(b)将熔融温度为200°F至300°F的第二组线或长丝排列得基本上互相平行并与第一组线基本垂直,使所述第二组线的数量占第一组线的1/3至1/8,并与第一组线接触但不与之交织,以及(c)将交织线或长丝在第一和第二组线或长丝之上、之下并环绕着所述第一和第二组线或长丝结成环。
本发明还提供了一种半成品传动带,它包括靠一组平行加强线或长丝增强的弹性基质,其中所述加强线或加强长丝互相不连接,并且在弹性基质中互相之间可独立移动;以及一种固化的传动带,其中纬线包括熔融温度为200°F至300°F的聚合材料,并且纬线或纬向长丝在带的固化过程中熔融并分散于弹性基质中,在弹性基质中形成聚合物区。在图示的具体实施方案中,传动带是由这种加强织物制成的:该织物有靠交织线或长丝而彼此相对固定的非交织加强线和纬线。加强线束也是在垂直于带的移动方向上排列,而且带的每单位面积的柔度基本相当于嵌入弹性基质中、粗细基本相当于带铆钉的单根加强线的每单位面积的柔度。

关于图1,本发明的织物加强物10包含加强经纱或经线12,以及与之相垂直的非加强的纬纱或纬线14。本领域技术人员都知道,经线的单丝支数〔每英寸经线数,或(epi)〕远高于纬线的单丝支数,这是因为纬线一般主要用于使经线之间彼此相对固定。一般,经线的单丝支数约为10-18epi,纬线的单丝支数为0.5-4epi。经线和纬线可以交织在一起以保持其相对位置,或如图2-4的10a结构所示,经线和纬线可以互相针织并靠针织长丝固定。
本发明的织物中,经线12包括强韧的、牢固的、高熔点材料、如棉、人造纤维,聚酯、尼龙、聚乙烯醇、玻璃纤维、钢、芳族聚酰胺、碳及它们的混合物。纬线14包含熔点范围为200°F至300°F的聚合材料,如聚丙烯、聚乙烯及它们的混合物。纬线的熔融温度一般在弹性制品的固化温度范围内,当纬线掺入弹性制品中熔化时,在弹性制品中形成聚合材料区17。
关于图5和图6,应用本发明加强物表示在多-V带20和半成品传动带20a中。本领域的技术人员可以看出这种加强物可用于V型带和其它类型的传动带中。
在图示的实施例中,Poly-VR带20由六个肋条24组成,用于带六槽的皮带轮。线束18提供带的传动强度,可包括芳族聚酰胺、钢、聚酯、玻璃或类似的高抗拉材料。当使用这种Poly-VR带时,线束18在高速下受力,并且在传动时或被皮带轮带动时受到的力趋向于使线18互相分离。这种带的结构中,在传动线18的上方使用了高强度长丝或线12,并且它与传动线18垂直,以阻止传动线分开的趋势,并有助于防止传动带裂开。
由于单独使用线12是无效的,因而通常在垂直于带的传动方向上、如图1或图2所示,在织物中使用这种排布方式的线。这种织物中的纬线14对于在织物被轧光或被橡胶覆盖时用作固定线12是必要的,由于它限制了经线12的单独移动,使结构的刚劲增加,并增加了加强束的厚度和刚劲。
按照本发明的原理可以推断为:纬线14的移动将力释放给经线12,并允许其相互之间独立移动,从而增加了由这种加强物制成的制品的柔性。由于经线12垂直于Poly-VR带20的移动方向并且可自由地独立移动,因而该层加到带20上的单位面积刚劲基本相当于嵌入橡胶中的粗细相当于该层铆钉的单根加强线18的刚劲。
为了实施本发明,建议用熔融温度为使用了这种纬线的弹性制品的固化温度的聚合材料来制造纬线14。因此,如果弹性制品在200°F至300°F的温度下固化,则纬线也在这一温度下熔融。当弹性体22固化时,纬线熔融并在弹性体中形成聚合材料区17。以此目的制造具有上述结构的织物可按Wellington Sears的Goodyear规范进行。
本发明经详细地图解和说明,本领域技术人员可看出本发明可从多方面改进并实施。仅用以下权利要求对本发明加以限定。
Claims (10)
1.一种复合材料,包括未固化的弹性基质和织物加强物,所述织物加强物包括第一组基本平行的经向线或经向长丝,选自棉、人造纤维,聚酯、尼龙、聚乙烯醇、玻璃纤维、钢、芳族聚酰胺、碳及它们的混合物,其特征在于还包括第二组熔融温度为200°F至300°F的纬向线或纬向长丝,所述的第一和第二组线和长丝互相接触但未交织,所述的第一和第二组线或长丝通过交织线或交织长丝互相之间相对固定。
2.权利要求1的复合材料,其特征在于所述纬线包含聚丙烯、聚乙烯或其混合物。
3.一种传动带,包含用一组平行的加强线或加强长丝加强的弹性基质,其特征在于所述加强线或加强长丝互相不连接,并可在所述弹性基质中独立地互相移动。
4.权利要求3的传动带,其特征在于所述传动带是由这种加强织物制成的:它具有靠交织线或交织长丝而彼此相对固定的非交织加强线和纬线,其中所述纬线包含熔融温度为200°F至300°F的聚合材料,在所述传动带固化的过程中,所述纬线或纬向长丝熔融并分散于所述弹性基质中,在所述弹性基质中形成聚合物区。
5.权利要求3的传动带,其特征在于所述加强线按垂直于所述传动带的移动方向排列,并且所述传动带的每单位面积的柔度基本相当于嵌入所述弹性基质中的单根加强线的每单位面积的柔度。
6.一种复合材料,含有未固化的弹性基质和织物加强物,其特征在于所述织物加强物包含第一组基本平行的经向线或经向长丝,选自棉、人造纤维,聚酯、尼龙、聚乙烯醇、玻璃纤维、钢、芳族聚酰胺、碳及它们的混合物,还包含第二组熔融温度为200°F至300°F的纬向线或纬向长丝,所述第一和第二组线或长丝是交织的。
7.权利要求6的复合材料,其特征在于所述纬线包含聚丙烯、聚乙烯或它们的混合物。
8.一种传动带,包含用一组平行的加强 或加强长丝加强的弹性基质,其特征在于所述加强线或加强长丝互相不连接,并可在所述弹性基质中独立地互相移动。
9.权利要求8的传动带,其特征在于所述传动带是用具有交织加强线和纬线的加强织物制成的,所述纬线包含熔融温度为200°F至300°F的聚合材料,在所述传动带固化的过程中,所述纬线或纬向长丝熔融并分散于所述弹性基质中,在所述弹性基质中形成聚合物区。
10.权利要求8的传动带,其特征在于所述加强线按垂直于所述传动带的移动方向排列,并且所述传动带的每单位面积的柔度基本相当于嵌入所述弹性基质中的单根加强线的每单位面积的柔度。
