Background
Fracture refers to the continuous complete or partial breakdown of bone structure. It is common to children and the elderly, and occurs in the middle-aged and young. Patients often have one site fractured and a few multiple fractures. After timely and proper treatment, most patients can recover the original functions, and a few patients can leave sequelae with different degrees. The ultimate goal of treating fractures is to maximize the recovery of function of the injured limb; therefore, in fracture treatment, three basic principles of reduction, fixation and functional exercise are very important.
After the fracture is reset, the limb is easy to move again due to instability, different methods are adopted to fix the limb to enable the limb to heal gradually, but the existing fixing method is simpler, and most of the medical fixing belts are adopted to fix the limb; the limb is fixed by a fixing tray with good fixing effect, but the function of the fixing tray is single, so that a patient needs to keep the same posture for a long time, and skin and muscle tissues bear compression for a long time, the phenomenon of limb edema caused by unsmooth blood circulation is easy to occur, and the pain of the patient is increased; the fixed tray also cannot be adjusted for use according to the needs of the patient or the care giver.
In the process of fixing the limbs and nursing after healing, patients are often required to actively perform functional exercise, or nursing staff perform rehabilitation operations such as massage on affected parts of the patients to achieve passive functional exercise of the patients. The active and passive functional training principles are to increase the blood circulation of the tissues around the fracture by causing the injured limb to contract muscle, thereby promoting the healing of the fracture and preventing the muscular atrophy, and to prevent the joint adhesion, the joint capsule contracture and the like by actively or passively moving the unfixed joint, so that the function of the injured limb is restored to the normal state before the fracture as soon as possible. But the active function exercise is not easy for the patient to insist; passive form function exercise generally needs nursing staff manual operation, has long led to the fact fatigue very easily, not only brings the inconvenience for nursing staff, also makes patient's rehabilitation operation unable to reach the best effect easily moreover.
In addition, at present, there is no device for combining the functions of fixing and functional exercise in fracture treatment with the functions of foot flexion and extension exercise, five-finger exercise, and the like, that is, some patients who need to do flexion and extension exercise on feet in fracture treatment and tenosynovitis or other hand diseases who need to do exercise and relax muscles on five fingers cannot be satisfied, so there is a need for an orthopedic limb fixing and functional exercise device capable of satisfying the above functions.
