Description
本发明涉及具有永磁性性质的材料,其也称作硬磁体。好的硬磁体或永磁体应产生高的磁场,应承受会使其消磁的外力,并且应是机械稳健的。
永磁性材料在生活的许多领域中例如在医学诊断、磁性电路和自旋电子学中发挥重要作用。
典型地,硬磁性材料是特征在于高剩余磁化强度和高矫顽力的铁磁性材料。
当铁磁性材料在一个方向上被磁化时,在去除所施加的磁化场时它将不会衰减至零磁化。铁磁性材料在零施加场时保持的磁化量被称为剩余磁化强度。为了改变彻底改变磁化强度返回零,必须施加相反方向的磁场;用于退磁的相反磁场的所需量被称为矫顽力。当向材料施加交替的磁场时,它的磁化将遵循被称为磁滞回线的环线。这种滞后现象与磁畴(“外斯畴”)的存在有关。一些铁磁性材料将几乎无限期地保持所施加的磁化强度,并因此可用作“永磁体”。
为了被认为是潜在的永磁体,特别重要的是磁性材料的三个固有性质:

迄今为止,没有对强大稀土永磁体的真正商用替代品,因为它们由于它们的磁性性质而优于所有之前已知的体系。它们具有高的磁性各向异性,因为f-壳层的电子被配位场屏蔽并因此该壳层的轨道动量显示它的优点。另外,它们可表现出高的局部磁矩,其额外地允许高饱和磁化强度。
不含稀土金属的替代品是铁氧体,其已被大规模生产并具有典型地(BH)max<40kJm-3的能量密度。它们的使用被限制在具有低能量密度、低成本和最大工作温度为250℃的应用。
另外的替代是具有(BH)max为约80kJm-3的ALNICO磁体。对于不含稀土金属的合金而言相对高的(BH)max是由约1.1T的高剩余磁化强度所致。但是,μ0Hc~0.14T的矫顽磁场强度相对小,这意味着ALNICO磁体甚至在小的磁场强度下也承受不可逆损失的风险。另外,大块材料非常脆并因此机械易碎。然而,它们的最大550℃的高工作温度是非常有利的。
基于MnAl的磁体目前达到约60kJm-3的(BH)max与约280℃的居里温度。它们的剩余磁化强度和矫顽力对应于μ0Mr为约0.6T和μ0Hc为约0.4T。它们不含有“关键”元素并因此相对便宜。此外,密度为约5gcm-3,它们还相对轻质,但是它们≤0.5T的矫顽力相当小。
可由MnBi制备具有至多(BH)max~50kJm-3的薄膜形式的磁体和大块磁体。MnBi的硬磁性性质基于六方晶系晶体结构的单轴对称性、它的平面外磁化和重Bi的强自旋轨道耦合。
以四方晶系结构类型L10结晶的二元化合物例如CoPt或FePt可表现出2T的矫顽力。然而,高铂含量在经济上是不利的。
此外,已知一些霍斯勒化合物具有硬磁性。霍斯勒化合物是具有式X2YZ或XYZ的三元金属间化合物,后者还称作半霍斯勒化合物,其中X和Y经常是过渡金属且Z是主族元素。霍斯勒合金的种类包括多于1000种化合物,其可为铁磁性的或亚铁磁性的,但是组成它们的元素不必然具有这种磁性性质。四方晶族霍斯勒化合物的成员由于固有的单轴对称性而可显示高的磁晶各向异性。因为四方晶系化合物通常是亚铁磁性的,所以它们仅表现出低的饱和磁化强度并因此仅表现出低的剩余磁化强度。
除了稀土永磁体的进一步发展和改进之外,研究新的体系以闭合铁氧体和Nd-Fe-B之间的间隙(其(BH)max在100至300kJ·m-3的范围内)是未来技术的重要步骤。
因此,本发明的目的是提供不含有稀土金属但同时表现出高矫顽力、高剩余磁化强度和高能量密度的硬磁性材料(与已知的不含稀土金属的硬磁体相比)。
通过通式组成为XaX’bYcZd的具有六方或三方对称性的不含稀土金属的三元金属间化合物解决了以上问题。
其中
X和X’表示具有高总自旋即具有未成对电子的3d过渡金属,例如Mn、Fe、Co、Ni;

发明详细描述
根据本发明的三元金属间化合物拥有六方晶系或三方晶系晶体结构。这是重要的特征,因为这种对称性的晶体结构由于固有的单轴对称性而满足晶体各向异性的标准。在本发明的化合物中这种晶体各向异性与4d和5d元素(过渡金属或主族元素)显著的自旋轨道耦合结合。这样的结果是这些化合物甚至在不存在由磁晶各向异性引起的形状各向异性的情况下也表现出强的磁性各向异性。

使用溅射技术用于制造本发明的化合物。这允许制造化合物的薄层(膜)。出于这个目的,在溅射中使用单质金属和/或两种金属的合金作为靶。真空接收器的基础压力优选≤10-6mbar,更优选≤10-7mbar和最优选≤10-8mbar并且沉积优选发生在0.1×10-3mbar至10×10-3mbar,更优选在1×10-3mbar至5×10-3mbar,和最优选在3×10-3mbar,且在优选100℃至500℃,更优选150℃至450℃和最优选200℃至400℃的温度范围内。薄层的生长速率为约0.03至0.04nm/s。在沉积之后,优选将在接收器内基材上的薄层真空退火优选5至25分钟、更优选10至20分钟和最优选约15分钟,并且然后缓慢冷却至室温。然后优选沉积2至3nm铝保护层以预涂覆薄金属层来保护它们免于氧化。
可通过改变沉积参数来影响沉积材料的晶体结构。发现了在约200℃的低沉积温度下优先形成六方晶系结构,而随着不断提高温度(在约400℃下)四方晶系半霍斯勒化合物的比例提高。在进一步优选的实施方案中可通过在具有期望晶体结构的预定基材例如蓝宝石基材(沿0001)或在作为基材上的MgO(沿001)外延生长薄膜来获得化合物。观察到本发明的六方晶系化合物优先以垂直于基材表面的结晶学[001]方向生长在蓝宝石上。原则上,六方晶系Ru或Co还可用作基材表面。然而,这些基材与本发明的六方晶系化合物相比具有高的晶格失配并因此较不优选。另外但同样较不优选的替代是六方晶系SiC(2H)和三方晶系(SiO2)作为基材;在这些类型的基材上生长的薄层显示较差的结晶性。
制造用于使用的磁体
为了用作磁体,可将本发明的化合物例如作为原材料烧结或与适当的粘合剂材料粘合。烧结磁体通常更强且各向异性但形状受限。通过将原材料压力成型之后是加热过程来制成它们。粘合磁体不如烧结磁体坚固,但是较不昂贵并且可制成几乎任何尺寸和形状。对于粘合磁体,将原材料(根据本发明的化合物)与5至90重量%、优选10至60重量%、更优选20-40重量%粘合剂混合、压实并在升高的温度(例如在50-350℃下、优选在80-280℃下、更优选在100-200℃下,取决于使用的粘合剂和磁性化合物的温度稳定性)下固化。它们是各向同性的,即它们可在任何方向上被磁化。模制方法可例如是注射模制或压缩粘合方法。典型的粘合剂类型是尼龙、聚酰胺、聚苯硫醚(PPS)和丁腈橡胶(NBR)。
实施例
设备和测量方法
借助于使用Cu-Kα源(Philips PANanalytical X'pert Pro)的X-射线衍射(XRD)测量来检查膜的晶体结构和厚度。在QUANTA 200FEG I上进行能量色散X-射线光谱法(EDX)测量以便测定膜的组成。使用StrataGEM软件包以获得膜厚度。使用Quantum Design超导量子干涉装置振动试样磁力计(MPMS-3)来研究薄膜的磁性性质。
实施例1和2
Mn1.5PtGa和Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga
通过在作为基材的蓝宝石表面(0001)上外延生长来制备Mn1.5PtGa和Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga的薄层。因为蓝宝石(Al2O3)在三方晶系中结晶,即具有六方量度(hexagonal metric),所以蓝宝石表面的结构支持Mn1.5PtGa和Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga层的外延生长。
单质锰、铂、铁和组合物MnGa的合金用作溅射靶。真空接收器的基础压力为≤10- 8mbar,并且在200℃至300℃的温度范围内在3×10-3mbar下发生基材上的沉积。薄层的生长速率为约0.03至0.04nm/s。在沉积之后,将在接收器内基材上的薄层真空退火15分钟,并且然后缓慢冷却至室温。然后沉积2至3nm铝保护层以保护薄金属层免于氧化。
图1中显示在22nm Mn1.5PtGa薄层和44nm Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga薄层上采用“平面外”几何形状的室温下X-射线粉末衍射图。将六方晶系结构的布拉格反射标记为H(0002)和H(0004)。300℃下生长的薄层(图1b)与在200℃下施加的层(图1a)相比显示更好的结晶性。在大于300℃的沉积温度下(图1c),观察到布拉格强度的降低和另外的弱反射(用*标记)。可假定由作为次要相的四方晶系半霍斯勒化合物引起了另外的反射。还在大块样品中观察到类似的行为。如图1d中所示,部分Mn被Fe取代维持了六方晶系结构。无论沉积的温度,在蓝宝石(0001)上沉积的所有薄膜都表现出织构。在三方晶系基材的表面上的外延生长分别使六方晶系Mn1.5PtGa和Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga以结晶学[001]方向的优先取向沉积,所述结晶学方向垂直于基材的表面并因此平行于蓝宝石的结晶学c轴。
可借助于不同的沉积参数来影响沉积材料的晶体结构。观察到在低沉积温度下优先形成六方晶系结构,而随着不断提高温度四方半霍斯勒化合物的比例提高。六方晶系晶体结构的晶格参数为对于Mn1.5PtGa而言和和对于Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga而言和这对应于相对于蓝宝石基材的a-轴而言约8.2%和8.6%的a-轴晶格失配。尽管相对大的晶格失配,但是在基材的蓝宝石表面(0001)上观察到Mn1.5PtGa和Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga的外延生长。
在图2中显示在300℃下在蓝宝石(0001)表面上沉积的良好结晶的Mn1.5PtGa薄层的磁性性质。图2a说明在0.05T的场强度下采用场冷却模式(FC)测量的磁化强度随温度的变化。在约241K的居里温度(Tc)下,观察到铁磁性至顺磁性相转变。在图2b和2c中分别显示对于“平面内”(IP)和“平面外”(OP)方向20K和200K的相应M(H)曲线。显示的数据对应于扣除对于各温度而言的基材贡献之后的原始数据。样品显示在20K下“平面外”取向的矫顽场强Hc为1.5T,但是在200K下仅显示快要消失的矫顽力(0.18T)(由于磁性各向异性的温度依赖性)。图2d显示矫顽力随着温度提高的系统性降低。在“平面外”方向上矫顽力的测量值与“平面内”测量结果相比显示强的磁性各向异性。在20K和5T下,测量了总磁化强度为400kA/m。根据方程KU=(μ0MSxHa)/2,这导致3.3MJ/m3作为各向异性常数(KU)的值。MS是饱和磁化强度和Ha是各向异性场。通过使用“平面内”和“平面外”曲线的交点来获得后者的估计值。Mn1.5PtGa薄层显示在20K下(BH)max为约30kJm-3。随着温度提高,(BH)max降低,并且在200K下即接近居里温度,其仅为4kJm-3。
图3显示在300℃下沉积的44nm Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga薄膜的磁化强度。随温度变化的在0.1T的场强度下采用场冷却模式(FC)测量的磁化强度(图3a)显示在约312K下铁磁性向顺磁性相变。在图3b中显示分别在50和300K下在平面外几何形状中测量的滞后曲线。低温测量结果显示矫顽场强度为0.87T而接近TC的测量结果的矫顽场强度为0.02T。
两个实施例说明具有六方晶系晶体结构的材料在存在具有充足未成对电子的元素例如锰或铁和具有显著自旋轨道耦合的元素例如铂的情况下可表现出明显的矫顽力和剩余磁化强度。六方晶系Mn1.08Fe0.58Pt1.19Ga体系还显示可在四元体系中进一步提高居里温度和磁矩。还可在MnCoPtGa体系中实现类似的结果。
Claims (14)
1.硬磁体,包含具有以下通式组成的金属间化合物
XaX’bYcZd
其中
X和X’彼此独立地表示具有未成对电子的3d过渡金属;
Y是第5、8、9或10族的4d或5d过渡金属
Z是第13、14或15族的主族元素;
a和d彼此独立地表示在0.1和2.0之间的数;
b表示在0.0和2.0之间的数;和
c是1;
使得a+b+c+d在3.0和4.0之间。

X和X’独立地选自Mn、Fe、Co或Ni。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的硬磁体,其中
Y是Ru、Rh、Pd、Pt、Ir、Ag、Au、Nb或Ta。

13.根据权利要求1至11中一项所述的硬磁体,其中该硬磁体还包含粘合剂。
14.具有以下通式组成的金属间化合物作为硬磁体的用途

其中
