Abstract

本发明属于半导体显示技术领域,具体为一种显示面板的栅驱动单元,驱动电路及显示装置。本发明通过若干个TFT和1个平板电容,实现面板显示中对开关TFT栅极驱动的功能单元,其包括正向输入模块、反向输入模块、上拉模块、下拉模块和一个反相器;通过驱动单元间的连接,实现栅极驱动信号的移位寄存功能,形成显示面板的栅极驱动电路。本发明通过较少的TFT及电容,实现对显示面板栅极的稳定驱动,有利于实现较高的空间利用率,窄边框,降低功耗,提高显示面板的生产效率和良品率。

Description

用于半导体显示的栅驱动电路单元、驱动电路及显示装置
技术领域
本发明属于半导体显示技术领域,具体涉及一种显示面板的栅驱动单元,驱动电路及显示装置。
背景技术
以液晶显示和OLED显示为代表的显示器,是由RGB三个亚像素单元组成的像素单元,在平面内周期性排列形成的二维矩阵。显示矩阵的水平和竖直方向分别为Gate线和Data线。其中的电视信号,在经过一些列数据转换之后,输入到每一条Data线。而每一行Gate线则需要专门的驱动控制电路,控制其上的TFT处于开启或关闭状态,从而配合电视信号的输入。在显示技术发展的早期,Gate线的驱动电路(栅驱动电路)是由专门的驱动IC来完成的。
随着显示面板制造技术的不断进步,目前的生产工艺可以实现将栅驱动电路直接制造在玻璃基板上。这可以在一定程度上降低面板组件的制造成本。也可以在一定程度上减小驱动电路对空间的占用率。这样制造的驱动电路是由一个个相同的驱动单元(GOA单元)通过一定方式连接而成的。因此GOA单元中TFT的数量,将决定天线和显示面板驱动电路的大小、边框的宽度,以及产品的良品率。
基于以上背景,本发明通过若干个TFT和1个平板电容,实现面板显示中所用到的GOA单元的功能。并通过GOA单元间的连接,实现移位寄存功能。在此基础上形成显示面板的栅极驱动电路。
发明内容
本发明的目的在于提供一种新的用于半导体显示的栅驱动电路单元、驱动电路及显示装置,以实现对显示面板栅极的稳定驱动,提高空间利用率。
本发明提供的用于显示面板的栅驱动电路单元(记为GOA单元),包括正向输入模块,反向输入模块,上拉模块和下拉模块;其中:
正向输入模块由晶体管M1构成,晶体管M1的栅极为电压信号的输入端,漏极接高电平VDD,源极与pu点连接;
反向输入模块由晶体管M2构成,晶体管M2的栅极为Reset信号的输入端,漏极与pu点连接,源极与低电平VSS连接;
上拉模块由晶体管M3构成,晶体管M3的栅极与pu点连接,M源漏极中的一端连接时钟信号CLK,另一端与电路的输出端相连接;
下拉模块由晶体管M4、M5、M6和电容C1构成,晶体管M4的栅极与晶体管M3的栅极以及pu点相连;晶体管M4的漏极与晶体管M5和晶体管M6的漏极连接在pd点;同时,这三个TFT的源极连接低电平VSS。
此外,pu点的连接由晶体管M7和晶体管M8构成的反相器的输入端,pd点连接反相器的输出端。这样可以保证在晶体管M3和晶体管M4开启时,晶体管M5和晶体管M6关闭。从而保证电路的稳定输出。而当晶体管M3和晶体管M4关闭时,晶体管M5和晶体管M6打开,同时对电容C1两端进行放电。
本发明还提供一种基于上述栅驱动电路单元的驱动电路。由多个栅驱动电路单元连接而成;栅驱动电路单元相当于移位寄存器单元;具体的连接方式是,第一级移位寄存单元的输入端作为整个移位寄存器的信号输入端V1;输出端连接下一级移位寄存单元的输入端;从第二级开始,每一级移位寄存单元的输出端,连接上一单元的reset端和下一单元的输入端。通过这种方式,实现栅驱动信号的移位寄存功能。形成半导体显示面板的栅极驱动电路。如图9所示(图中为5个栅驱动电路单元),其仿真结果如图10所示。
本发明还提供一种基于上述栅驱驱动电路的显示装置。如图11所示,栅驱驱动电路中的每一个驱动电路单元的输出端,连接二维显示面板中每一条栅极线。当驱动电路位于显示面板的一侧时,每一个驱动电路单元的输出端连接显示面板中的一条栅极线。也可以把驱动电路制造在显示面板的两侧。一侧的栅极驱动电路驱动奇数行栅极线,另一侧的驱动电路驱动偶数行的栅极线。驱动电路单元之间的连接方式与图9中的连接方式相同。
本发明通过较少的薄膜晶体管(TFT)及电容,实现了对显示面板栅极的稳定驱动,有利于实现较高的空间利用率,窄边框,降低功耗,提高显示面板的生产效率和良品率。

具体实施方式
本发明提供的用于显示面板的栅驱动电路单元,如图1中所示,包括由M1构成的正向输入模块,由M2构成的反向输入模块,由M3构成的上拉模块,由M4,M5,M6和C1构成的下拉模块,以及M7和M8构成的反相器。其中的反相器也可以是图2-图7中的一种或几种的组合。V1端是信号输入端,Vo端是信号输出端。反相器的输入端与M3的栅极相连。反相器的输出端与pd点相连。图8为上述GOA单元在工作时,输入/输出信号的时序图。对于图1中所示的驱动单元电路。
当图8中所示的输入信号V1为高电平时,M1开启,VDD信号从M1输入,pu点电位升高,使得M3和M4开启,pd处于低电位,M5和M6处于关闭状态。此时,CLK输入低电压,CLKB输入高电压。驱动电路单元输出Vo为低电压。
当图8中所示的输入信号V1从高电压变为低电压后,M1关闭,CLK输入高电位,由于电容C1的自举效应,使得pu点电位进一步升高,M3和M4继续保持开启,pd仍处于低电位,M5和M6继续处于关闭状态。此时,CLK输入高电压,CLKB输入低电压。驱动电路单元的输出Vo为高电压。
当图8中所示的输入信号V1继续保持低电压时,M1保持关闭状态,Reset信号使得M2开启,pu点电位降低,使得M3和M4关闭。此时,CLK输入低电压,CLKB输入高电压。由于电容C2的自举效应,使得pd处电位升高,M5和M6开启,对C1两端进行放电。驱动电路单元输出Vo为低电压。
之后,CLK和CLKB端交替输入高、低电压。电路的功能要求M3和M4开启的时候,M5和M6关闭。因此,在pu点和pd点之间,通过一个反相器进行连接。以保证每个GOA单元在输出一次高电位之后,在面板的一个扫描周期内,保持输出低电位。

Claims (3)

1.一种用于显示面板的栅驱动电路单元,记为GOA单元,其特征在于,包括正向输入模块,反向输入模块,上拉模块和下拉模块;其中:
正向输入模块由晶体管M1构成,晶体管M1的栅极为电压信号的输入端,漏极接高电平VDD,源极与pu点连接;
反向输入模块由晶体管M2构成,晶体管M2的栅极为Reset信号的输入端,漏极与pu点连接,源极与低电平VSS连接;
上拉模块由晶体管M3构成,晶体管M3的栅极与pu点连接,M源漏极中的一端连接时钟信号CLK,另一端与电路的输出端相连接;
下拉模块由晶体管M4、M5、M6和电容C1构成,晶体管M4的栅极与晶体管M3的栅极以及pu点相连;晶体管M4的漏极与晶体管M5和晶体管M6的漏极连接在pd点;同时,这三个TFT的源极连接低电平VSS;
此外,pu点的连接由晶体管M7和晶体管M8构成的反相器的输入端,pd点连接反相器的输出端;这样在晶体管M3和晶体管M4开启时,晶体管M5和晶体管M6关闭,保证电路的稳定输出;当晶体管M3和晶体管M4关闭时,晶体管M5和晶体管M6打开,同时对电容C1两端进行放电。
2.一种基于权利要求1所述的栅驱动电路单元的栅驱驱动电路,其特征在于,由多个如权利要求1所述的栅驱动电路单元连接而成,栅驱动电路单元相当于移位寄存器单元;其连接方式是,第一级移位寄存单元的输入端作为整个移位寄存器的信号输入端V1;输出端连接下一级移位寄存单元的输入端;从第二级开始,每一级移位寄存单元的输出端,连接上一单元的reset端和下一单元的输入端,实现栅驱动信号的移位寄存功能。
3.一种基于权利要求2所述的栅驱驱动电路的显示装置,其特征在于,栅驱驱动电路中的每一个驱动电路单元的输出端,连接二维显示面板中每一条栅极线;把驱动电路布置于显示面板的一侧,每一个驱动电路单元的输出端连接显示面板中的一条栅极线;或者把驱动电路布置在显示面板的两侧,一侧的栅极驱动电路驱动奇数行栅极线,另一侧的驱动电路驱动偶数行的栅极线。
