Abstract
电视接收机由图形发生器(200),视频处理器(242;252),音频处理器(244;254),画中画处理器(230),以及控制器(210)组成,用于产生嵌入图像阵列(100)的显示。控制器(210)使嵌入图像阵列(100)中的一个嵌入图像带着表示选择了这个嵌入图像的辅助图形图像一起显示出来,并使伴随上述选中的嵌入图像的音频信号重放出来。在一种实施例中,所有图像除了选中的那个以外,都被“冻结”了,而选中的图像近实时地更新。在另一种实施例中,第二调谐器(250)调谐到选中图像的频道,并用来为选中的图像提供音频信号,同时第一调谐器(240)继续顺序地调谐到各个频道,从中得到所有的图像。
Description
本发明总的是关系到用于电子设备,例如电视接收机的“多画面”显示,具体地是涉及在这样的多画面显示期间对音频通道的新颖使用。
包括一个嵌入图像阵列的多画面显示在电视技术中是熟知的。例如,美国Indiana,Indianapolis,Thomson Consumer Electronics公司生产的RCA CTC-172,就是一种具有多画面能力的电视接收机。观看者可调用这样的多画面显示从而可以同时观看多个(通常是12个)频道的电视节目样本。CTC-172还能使某个嵌入图像强调出来,以标示用户对它的选择,然后离开多画面方式调谐到选中的频道。在这种多画面接收机中,调谐器被反复地并顺序地调谐到每个源频道以便更新每个嵌入图像。在理想化的情况下,这种更新过程会进行得很快,使用户完全不知道他观看的是每个频道的样本。不幸的是,调谐到每个频道并得到视频信号样本要花费一定的时间,而这,用户是容易觉察到的。也就是说,在调谐器把一个十二幅嵌入图像的阵列轮一遍回来更新某幅图像之前可能要花费几秒钟的时间。观众还会喜欢听到伴随选中频道的声音,但由于相当慢的更新速度,至今这是不可能的。
根据本发明,提供了一种电视接收机,包括:用于选择频道以便产生与所述频道中的各相应频道对应的视频和音频信号的装置,所述用于选择频道的装置能够按照重复的顺序来选择频道,以便提供循环的视频信号样本;第一视频处理器,用于处理与所述频道中所选择的一个频道相对应的视频信号;音频处理器,用于处理与所述频道中所选择的一个频道相对应的音频信号;画中画中处理器,用于从与所述所选择的一个频道相对应的视频信号中得到嵌入图象代表信号,所述嵌入图象代表信号在显示时包括一个嵌入图象;第二视频处理器,它被连接到所述画中画处理器,它根据多个嵌入图象代表信号来产生一个组合信号,该多个嵌入图象代表信号是从与各个相应的所选择的所述频道相对应的多个视频信号中得到的,所述组合信号当被显示时包括一系列的嵌入图象;图形发生装置,用于产生包括在所述组合信号中的图形信息;用于控制所述用于选择频道的装置、所述图形发生装置、所述画中画处理器、所述第一和第二视频信号处理器以便产生所述组合信号的装置;其特征在于,所述控制装置用于选择要被更新的所述一系列嵌入图象中的一个,同时使该系统中的其余的嵌入图象停止更新,同时使该系列中的所有嵌入图象被显示;以及所述控制装置使所述音频处理器产生对应于正在更新的所述嵌入图象系列中被选择的一个的更新的音频信号。
优选地在上述电视接收机中还包括数据输入装置,该装置被用户用来输入指定屏幕位置的数据,图形发生装置产生的直观图形式强调信号就显示在该位置上。
优选地在上述电视接收机中,上述数据输入装置由遥控单元的键盘组成,而上述位置数据是光标方向数据和上述数据输入装置的频道升、频道降、音量加和音量减键。
优选地在上述电视接收机中,上述控制装置能用来操作使上述未选中的嵌入图象以时间冻结的方式显示,而上述选中的嵌入图像以近实时的方式显示。
所述的电视接收机包括图形发生器、视频处理器、音频处理器、画中画处理器,以及用于对嵌入图像阵列产生显示的控制器。控制器使嵌入图像阵列中的一个嵌入图象带着表示选择了这个嵌入图像的辅助图形图像一起显示出来。并且使得与伴随上述选中的嵌入图像的音频信号重放出来。在一种实施例子中,所有图像,除了选中的那一个以外,都被“冻结”了,而选中的图像则近乎实时地被更新。在另一种实施例子中,第二调谐器调谐到选中图像的频道,并用来为选中的图像提供音频,同时,第一调谐器继续顺序地调谐到各个频道,从而得到所有的图像。
图1表示由多画面显示组成的屏幕显示。
图2以方框图表示按照本发明工作的电视接收机电路的有关部分。
图3是适用于本发明的遥控单元的简化图。
参见图1,在电视接收机的屏幕100上,显示出一个十二幅图像的多画面阵列。图形的强调处是以围绕带有频道号29的嵌入图像四周形成一个边框来表示。图形边框可通过图3的遥控单元300的光标键在各嵌入图像之间移动。在显示嵌入图像阵列期间,CHAN UP(频道升),CHAN DN(频道降),VOL UP(音量加),VOL DN(音量减)键303,304,305,和306不再用来更换频道或控制音量,而是用作X和Y方向的光标控制键,供用户用来在阵列中“航行”。
用户操作光标键303~306,使一个嵌入图像强调出来,然后按下MENU(菜单)键301以完成对该个嵌入图像的选择以便进行调谐。按照本发明,强调一个嵌入图像也就使伴随该嵌入图像的频道的音频得到重放。这一构想有两处应用。在第一处,调谐器受命停止为更新视频样本而顺序地调谐各频道,代之的是,调谐到与选中的嵌入图像相应的频道。所有其它频道的样本都被“冻结”,因为它们不再进行更新,只有选中的嵌入图像可以用快得多的接近实时的速率更新。音频可以使用从调谐器来的,因为在这种工作方式下,调谐器连续地调谐在同一频道上。可能在选中的嵌入图像上有某些感兴趣的东西吸引观众的注意,使他作出这种特定的选择。结果是观众可以看到一幅所有频道上是什么的冻结快照,并且可以把他的注意力集中到选中的嵌入图像的近实时更新的视频和连续的音频上。
在第二处应用中,双调谐器电视接收机用一个调谐器重复地并顺序地更新嵌入图像阵列,而用第二个调谐器连续地调谐在选中的频道,从中得到选中的嵌入图像。在这种情况下,结果是观众可以看到所有频道上图像的连续更新,但又仍然可以把注意力集中到选中的嵌入图像的视频和音频上。
图2表示具有以上所述的屏幕显示和音频能力的接收机的该部分简化框图。屏幕显示(OSD)处理器200最好是一个位-映象的图形发生器,用以在主微处理器210的控制下在被强调的嵌入图像的周围产生一个图形边框。OSD处理器200在红、绿、和兰色信号输出端产生图像信号。主微处理器210还从电视机底板上接收视频信号,并从那里得到隐蔽的字幕信息。它在红、绿、和兰色信号输出端产生隐蔽字幕显示信号。OSD处理器200的输出和主微处理器210的输出在加法电路阵列中相加在一起,此电路阵列总称215。这些加法电路可以包括,例如,熟知的非相加性混合电路,它的特性是将其输入端两个信号中较大的那个通过,而将两个输入信号中较小的那个阻塞。加法电路的输出送到主视频处理器单元220,它还从PIP(画中画)单元230接收Y(亮度)和C(色度)分量视频信号。PIP单元230的输入信号由第一调谐器240、第一视频处理器242、第二调谐器250、和第二视频处理器252提供。由OSD处理器200或主微处理器210所产生的快速切换信号使图形信号(或隐蔽字幕信号)在快速切换信号持续时间内代替视频信号。调谐器240和调谐器250还将信号送给两个音频处理器244和254。音频处理器244和254将信号送给在主微处理器210控制下工作的音频切换设备260。选中的音频信号加到音频放大器270和扬声器280。(为简单起见,音频通道表示成单声道,但并不排除立体声)。
单调谐器电视接收机的实施例子还要包括图2中除了调谐器240、视频处理器242、音频处理器244,和音频切换开关260以外的所有部件。单调谐器电视接收机的实施例的工作情况下,在其自身软件控制下操作的主微处理器(即系统控制器)210使PIP单元230把OSD处理器200所画的图形边框自动显示在与用户所选相一致的PIP嵌入图像四周的准确位置上,并控制调谐器250停止顺序地调谐,而是连续地调谐到得出选中的嵌入图像的频道。当调谐器250完成了对该频道的调谐时,音频处理器254的输出便加到放大器270,供扬声器280中的音频重放。音频放大器也可由主微处理器210通过内部总线控制其接通和关断。
双调谐器电视接收机的实施例工作情况下,在其自身软件控制下操作的主微处理器(即系统控制器)210使PIP单元230把OSD处理器200所画的图形边框自动显示在与用户所选相一致的PIP嵌入图像四周的准确位置上,并控制调谐器240调谐到得出选中嵌入图像的频道。当调谐器240完成了对该频道的调谐时,就使音频切换开关260选择音频处理器244的输出并把它送到放大器270,供扬声器280中的音频重放。音频放大器也可由主微处理器210通过内部总线控制其接通和关断。作为另一个优点,还要指出,选中频道的快速调谐得以实现是因为第二调谐器已经调谐在选中的频道。
词语“系统控制器”和主微处理器在本文里可以互换使用,并且打算也包括微型计算机和专门定做的集成电路。术语“电视接收机”打算包括带显示器件的电视接收机(通常称为电视机)和不带显示器件的电视接收机(例如盒式录像机)。
Claims (4)
1.一种电视接收机,包括:
用于选择频道以便产生与所述频道中的各相应频道对应的视频和音频信号的装置(240),所述用于选择频道的装置能够按照重复的顺序来选择频道,以便提供循环的视频信号样本;
第一视频处理器(242),用于处理与所述频道中所选择的一个频道相对应的视频信号;
音频处理器(244,270),用于处理与所述频道中所选择的一个频道相对应的音频信号;
画中画中处理器(230),用于从与所述所选择的一个频道相对应的视频信号中得到嵌入图象代表信号,所述嵌入图象代表信号在显示时包括一个嵌入图象;
第二视频处理器(220),它被连接到所述画中画处理器,它根据多个嵌入图象代表信号来产生一个组合信号,该多个嵌入图象代表信号是从与各个相应的所选择的所述频道相对应的多个视频信号中得到的,所述组合信号当被显示时包括一系列的嵌入图象;
图形发生装置(200),用于产生包括在所述组合信号中的图形信息;
用于控制(210)所述用于选择频道的装置、所述图形发生装置、所述画中画处理器、所述第一和第二视频信号处理器以便产生所述组合信号的装置;
其特征在于,
所述控制装置用于选择要被更新的所述一系列嵌入图象中的一个,同时使该系统中的其余的嵌入图象停止更新,同时使该系列中的所有嵌入图象被显示;以及
所述控制装置使所述音频处理器产生对应于正在更新的所述嵌入图象系列中被选择的一个的更新的音频信号。
2.如权利要求1中所述的电视接收机,其特征在于,还包括数据输入装置(300),该装置(300)被用户用来输入指定屏幕位置的数据,图形发生装置产生的直观图形式强调信号就显示在该位置上。
3.如权利要求2中所述的电视接收机,其特征在于,其中上述数据输入装置由遥控单元(300)的键盘(301-308)组成,而上述位置数据是光标方向数据和上述数据输入装置的频道升(303)、频道降(304)、音量加(306)和音量减(305)键。
4.如权利要求2中所述的电视接收机,其特征在于,其中上述控制装置(210)能用来操作使上述未选中的嵌入图象以时间冻结的方式显示,而上述选中的嵌入图像以近实时的方式显示。
