Abstract

Description
本发明涉及具有一不可拆除的撕开板的罐端盖,该板限定了一用于改善倾倒特性的大开口,所谓大开口端盖(LOE)。特别是,本发明涉及在具有一小直径中心板的罐端盖中的这种大开口的形状。
一般而言,装满啤酒、软饮料等的铝或钢罐设有容易开口的、固定薄片式的端盖,其具有一不可拆除的撕开板,该板被撕开并转向罐内以提供一开口,通过该开口可以倒出罐的内含物。设置于传统的罐中的开口一般较小并因此不可能以均匀的方式从罐内倒出内含物,因为液体倾向于以小的突喷射流或迸射液滴(glugs)配送出。这对于直接从罐中饮用内含物时是特别困难的,因为迸射液滴意味着液体必须被一点一点地啜饮。
为了改善倾倒性和饮用性,已建议了具有较大开口的罐端盖,例如在US 5711448中。这种改善的性能通常是通过设置面积大于上述传统开口的开口得到的。这些大的开口的倾倒特性使罐的内含物可以以比传统开口较高的流速配送,而几乎没有突喷射流或迸射液滴出现。这使得可以以更自然的方式直接从罐中饮用罐的内含物。
罐端盖以各种尺寸从202至211(采用传统的罐制造者的专用术语)制造。然而,存在对减小罐端盖的尺寸的不断需要。近来,206罐按常规被用于所有的饮料罐并且这些尺寸的端盖在欧洲仍然用在大多数啤酒罐上。然而,对软饮料用罐,202端盖现在是美国和欧洲的工业标准并且存在将剩余的206端盖减到202端盖的工业压力。因此,罐制造有接连较小直径的端盖以便通过减轻重量来节省成本。
此外,已建议减小罐端盖的中心板的直径而保持公称的罐端盖直径不变,如在国际专利WO 96/37414中所论述的。这样的罐端盖具有一外周边的“钩形物”,其由一倾斜的侧壁与一较小直径的中心板分开。该侧壁对中心板的平面倾斜成20°至60°之间的角度。
当中心板变得较小时(或通过减小罐端盖的尺寸或通过采用倾斜的侧壁),其变得更难以设置具有为得到改善的倾倒和饮用性能所需要面积的开口,因为在铆钉与端盖板的侧壁之间的距离减小了。
本发明的目的是提供一容易开口的、固定薄片的罐端盖,该罐端盖具有一开口、其具有改善的倾倒性和饮用特性而适用于具有与传统标准202端盖相比较小直径中心板的端盖。因此,本发明适用于具有如以上所述的倾斜侧壁的202端盖并且适用于较小直径的标准端盖,例如200和更小的端盖。
因此,本发明提供一种容易开口的罐端盖,其包括一具有可断开的凹痕线的圆形中心板,该凹痕线限定一不可拆除的撕开板的周边,还包括一具有一突出部分和一后部部分的不可拆除的薄片和在薄片与中心板之间的连接件,该连接件相当于一枢轴,所述薄片可以绕其向中心板的平面之外转动,从而使得在使用时将薄片的后部部分提起而使薄片的突出部分向下压在撕开板上,借此断开凹痕线并将撕开板转出中心板的平面之外以形成一开口,该开口具有一长轴和一短轴,短轴位于中心板的一个直径上,而长轴垂直于该直径,其特征在于,中心板的直径小于1.835英寸(46.6mm)并且开口具有小于0.5平方英寸(323mm2)的面积,而纵横比(长轴∶短轴)在1.3和1.7之间。
引述于本说明书的所有中心板的尺寸涉及用于制造中心板的模具的尺寸。因此所引述的中心板直径是中心板的板内径。
发明人发现罐端盖中的开口的倾倒性和饮用性受开口纵横比和方位的影响比受到开口面积的影响更大。因此,在具有较小直径的中心板的罐端盖中的开口可以设计成大大改善了倾倒性而勿需将开口面积增至大于在引述的现有技术中规定的0.5平方英寸的临界值。
评定一良好的LOE的准则是来自罐开口的流速应该超过普通消费者吞咽的速度,其中在罐内液面上方具有一通气空间。这使普通消费者可以以自然的方式饮用罐的内含物,而没有任何的突喷射流或迸射液滴。当来自开口的流速过低时,消费者将倾向于进一步使罐倾斜以增加流速,并且这切断了液面上方的空气空间而引起迸射液滴。或者,为了得到均匀的倾倒,由于低的流速,消费者将必须一点一点地啜吸罐的内含物。
就具有一开口且其短轴沿端盖的一直径而其长轴垂直于该直径的罐端盖来说,倾倒性的显著改善可以通过设置一纵横比(长轴∶短轴)在1.3和1.7之间、优选纵横比约为1.5的撕开板(并因此一旦该撕开板被撕开并向后转入罐内就得到一开口)来得到。
当纵横比低于1.3时,罐中开口趋向于如在传统的端盖中那样的圆形形状。来自这样的开口的流速往往是低的,于是消费者需要比欲得到较高流速所需的更进一步地倾斜罐,从而引起令人不满意的迸射液滴。当纵横比高于1.7时,罐中开口趋向于细长形状,其意味着即使罐的倾斜产生很小变化也会引起流速的很大变化。因此,在纵横比高于1.7时,来自开口的流速对于罐的倾斜的变化过于灵敏。这意味着为得到需要的流速且不堵塞液面上方的空气通道,消费者需要特别的细心。
开口优选为椭圆形的,因为这是最适于提供所要求的纵横比的形状,同时确保薄片的枢轴转动足以沿凹痕线的全长断开该凹痕线。然而,对凹痕线的撕开的加强可以通过采用一加强的薄片结构或通过设置一凸边构形来达到,该凸边构形加强了凹痕线和薄片周围的中心板。
优选地,罐端盖还包括一在撕开板上的凸边,其基本上沿着凹痕线的轮廓线但其绕薄片的突出部的前面成形。该凸边构形有助于加强撕开板而防止其在被打开时产生变形,借此有助于沿凹痕线的全长断开凹痕线。
以下将只借助于实例并参照附图来描述本发明,其中:

图1和2示出按照本发明的一个实施方案的罐端盖1。罐端盖1具有一倾斜的侧壁2和一减小直径D(如图2中所示)的中心板3。中心板3上压印有一可断开的凹痕线10,其限定了一撕开板11。凹痕线10具有一开口的外形并且在凹痕线10的起端与终端之间的未压印的区域限定了一活页12。罐端盖1还包括在一端具有一突出部分21的薄片20,该突出部分21经过撕开板11的边缘延伸。薄片20的另一端设有一后部提起的部分。薄片20由邻近于凹痕线10定位的铆钉25连接于中心板3,该铆钉25处在凹痕线10的与薄片突出部21相反的另一侧。撕开板11设有闭合的隆起凸边15,其沿着撕开板11和薄片突出部21的周边延伸。
为了打开罐,提起薄片20的后部部分并且将薄片20绕铆钉25转出中心板3的平面之外而将薄片的突出部21紧压在邻近于凹痕线10的撕开板11上。这个动作最初断开在薄片20下面延伸的那部分凹痕线并且可以使已聚积于罐内的任何气体排出(“砰地一声”)。当进一步提起薄片20时,凹痕继续绕凹痕线10的周边断开并且撕开板11绕活页部分12转出中心板3的平面外而进入罐体内,从而在罐端盖中形成一开口。撕开板11上的凸边15提供刚性并防止撕开板11在端盖1被打开的过程中变形。这又有助于凹痕线15的断裂绕撕开板11的周边向活页部分12扩展。最后得到的开口具有一位于端盖1的直径X-X上的短轴和一垂直于该直径的长轴Y-Y,在此,开口具有其沿该轴线的最大尺寸。
如图1中所示,当中心板的直径是减小的时,开口的短轴受铆钉25与侧壁30的起端之间减小了的距离的限制。这意味着难以得到具有大于0.5平方英寸(323mm2)的面积的开口,如同在现有技术中所规定的作为用以改善倾倒性能而需要的开口尺寸。然而,申请人发现改善的倾倒性能可以由面积小于0.5平方英寸(323mm2)的开口得到,只要开口的纵横比(长轴∶短轴)在1.3和1.7之间。
申请人进行了许多实验来测定其具有不同尺寸之开口和中心板的端盖的罐子的倾倒流速。在这些实验中,实验罐被打开,然后在三秒钟内将其从垂直位置转到水平位置。从而,罐的内含物自由地从罐内流出并且以预定的不变的时间间隔测定其流速。
图3示出对于三种具有不同构形的中心板和开口的202端盖的实验结果:一传统的202 LOE,曲线A;一按照本发明具有减小直径的中心板的202 LOE,曲线B;和一具有标准尺寸开口的传统的202端盖,曲线C。如图3中所示,传统的202端盖(曲线C)具有面积为0.450平方英寸(290mm2)和纵横比为1.1的开口,流速呈现出波动(迸射液滴)并且为达到其最大流速要花费最长的时间。202 LOE(曲线A)具有面积为0.596平方英寸(384.5mm2)和纵横比为1.47的开口,呈现出极少的流速波动并且以最短的时间达到很高的最大流速。然而按照本发明的202端盖(曲线B)具有减小直径的中心板和面积为0.487平方英寸(314mm2)且纵横比约为1.5的开口,发现其比标准的202端盖具有大大改善的倾倒性能(具有很少的流速波动和改善的流速对时间的分布图)。按照本发明的202 LOE的流速对时间的分布图(曲线B)呈现出可与已知的202 LOE(曲线A)的性能相比拟的性能。
Claims (6)
1.一种容易开口的罐端盖,其包括一具有可断开的凹痕线的圆形中心板,该凹痕线限定了一不可拆除的撕开板的周边,还包括一具有一突出部分和一后部部分的不可拆除的薄片,以及在薄片与中心板之间的连接件,该连接件相当于一枢轴,所述薄片可以绕其转出中心板的平面之外,从而使得在使用时将薄片的后部部分提起而使薄片的突出部分向下压在撕开板上,借此断开凹痕线并将撕开板转出到中心板的平面外以形成一开口,该开口具有一长轴和一短轴,短轴位于中心板的一个直径上而长轴垂直于该直径,其特征在于,中心板的直径小于1.835英寸(46.6mm)并且开口具有小于0.5平方英寸(323mm2)的面积,而纵横比(长轴∶短轴)在1.3和1.7之间。
