一种会话管理方法和会话管理功能网元。其中,一种会话管理方法,包括:会话管理功能SMF网元获知第一条件是否满足,其中,所述第一条件包括用户设备UE的第一位置处于本地数据网络LADN的服务区域SA之外;当所述第一条件满足时,所述SMF网元停止所述LADN的LADN分组数据单元PDU会话的数据传输,且所述SMF网元保留所述LADN PDU会话的资源。
