Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及一次性板容器,例如饮用杯或食物托盘。容器包括底部和由所述底部朝上延伸的侧壁(mantle)。底部和侧壁由聚合物涂覆的纤维板如纸板或卡纸板制成,并且通过热密封连接。至少在容器的内表面上提供隔液的聚合物涂层。
背景技术
用于一次性板杯的材料是纤维板,其在一侧或两侧上用可热密封的液体阻隔聚合物挤压涂覆。底部坯料和侧壁坯料由板幅冲孔切割。用压模压力机将圆周的朝下的轮缘模制到每个底部坯料上。侧壁坯料围绕锥形模制工具缠绕,并且借助于涂层聚合物沿着向上的接缝线热密封,以形成具有截头圆锥形状的侧壁部分。如果板仅在一侧涂有聚合物,则涂层将形成模制底部的上表面和密封侧壁的内表面。接下来,将底部和侧壁装配在一起,并且使侧壁的下边缘弯曲并通过涂层聚合物热密封在围绕底部的圆周轮缘上。密封件确保了杯的液密性。最后,通常使侧壁的上边缘弯曲形成口卷(mouth roll),以增加杯的刚性并且提供饮用时期望的口感。

基本上类似结构的开口容器,包括热密封的底部和侧壁部分,例如圆形、椭圆形或矩形食物托盘,以基本上类似的方式制造。
对于一次性饮用杯,通常的涂层聚合物是低密度聚乙烯(LDPE),其具有低成本以及优异的挤出和热密封性质。然而,对于微波炉使用,LDPE具有太低的熔点。可微波加热的食物托盘已经通过使用涂层聚合物来制造,其中将少份额的聚乙烯(PE)与主要份额的聚丙烯(PP)共混,聚丙烯(PP)具有更高的熔点以便在微波炉中保持加热而不熔化。通常,这种共混物寻求在挤出涂覆的同时运行性、热密封性和可微波加热性要求之间获得平衡。市售的涂料共混物(其为PE改性的PP并且专门设计用于挤出涂覆)的一个实例是Borealis AG的WG341C。
在热密封的PE+PP共混物涂覆的可微波加热的容器中遇到的问题是在侧壁的下边缘和底部的朝下的轮缘之间的密封不充分。热密封钳口必须将一叠三板层夹在一起,并且沿着所形成的圆周接缝将聚合物涂层夹在其间。纤维板如纸板或卡纸板具有差的导热性,并且与在接缝处具有两个板层的通常情况相比,第三板层的存在显着地限制了热量向聚合物密封件的传递。
Bohme等的US 2007/0292569 A1记载了用于油性或油脂食品的各种聚合物涂覆的包装板。板基材可以具有PE和PP的共混物的内部耐油涂层,以及PP的外部热密封层。然而,所引用的Chevron Phillips的PP均聚物MARLEX或Dow Chemical的金属茂聚丙烯Affinity1450分别具有太高或太低的熔点,以至于无法解决可微波加热的容器的底部和侧壁之间的热密封问题。Bohme等也没有处理热密封的可微波加热的容器。
因此需要一种改进的热密封容器,尤其是用于微波炉使用,其中底部和侧壁部分之间的无泄漏密封得以保证。
发明内容
根据本发明,改进容器的问题通过使用聚合物涂覆的纤维板材料用于容器的底部和侧壁来解决,其包括(i)纤维板基底,(ii)聚乙烯(PE)和聚丙烯(PP)的共混物的挤出内涂层,和(iii)聚丙烯-烯烃共聚物(PP-c)的挤出外涂层。内涂层位于纤维板基底和外涂层之间。
本发明人进行的测试表明,共挤出的双层涂层比根据现有技术的PE和PP的共混物的单层涂层热密封得明显更好。市售的全同立构PP均聚物以及PE+PP共混物WG341C具有约160℃的熔点,而丙烯与乙烯的共聚合通过仅仅4%份额的乙烯单体将熔点急剧降低至约130℃。如此的较低的熔点表明了改进的热密封性。同时熔点仍然高于LDPE的熔点,并且足以用于可微波加热的产品。
这样的丙烯均聚物和共聚物不适合用于挤出涂覆到纤维基材如纸板或卡纸板上,这是由于对纤维材料的粘附性差的缘故。事实上,PP均聚物和共聚物已经被开发用于膜挤出,并且通常所得的膜是双轴取向的并且用于例如制造塑料袋。
然而,根据本发明的解决方案是使用PE和PP的共混物作为共挤出内部粘结层,其提供了对纤维基材的良好的粘附性,并且同时将作为外部热密封层的共挤出PP-c层粘合到双层结构上。本发明的成功测试已经用纸板进行,该纸板提供有PE和PP的共混物的挤出内涂层和膜级丙烯α-烯烃共聚物的共挤出外涂层。出人意料地,开发用于膜挤出并且不含纯PE的共聚物在挤出涂覆中也具有良好的运行性。此外,挤出涂覆中的温度明显高于标准膜挤出中的温度,并且在不将本发明限制于该理论的情况下,认为由于这种高挤出温度而引起的PP-c的轻微氧化有助于改进热密封性。
优选地,内涂层中的聚丙烯(PP)是丙烯均聚物。内层的聚合物共混物可以含有约20至50重量%的PE,其优选为LDPE,以及约50至80重量%的PP。
内涂层的重量可以为5至15g/m2,优选约10g/m2,并且外涂层的重量可以为5至15g/m2,优选约10g/m2。
甚至容器的外表面也可以提供有至少一个PP-c或PE和PP的共混物的可热密封涂层。因此,容器的内表面和外表面可以类似地用双层聚合物涂覆。
纤维板基底可以是重量为170-250g/m2的纸板,其特别适合用于饮用杯尺寸和形状的容器。然而,板基底甚至可以是重量为约250-500g/m2的纸板,其适合用于更大和更硬的食物托盘。
因此,根据本发明的容器包括可微波加热的食物托盘。本发明的另一个有用的实施方案是一次性饮用杯,其在微波炉中保持加热。
本发明甚至涵盖包括纤维板基底、聚乙烯(PE)和聚丙烯(PP)的共混物的挤出内涂层和丙烯共聚物(PP-c)的挤出外涂层的板用于制造热密封的一次性饮用杯或热密封的可微波加热的食物托盘的用途。
具体实施方式
饮用杯1由聚合物涂覆的纤维材料(例如纸板)制成。具有传统基本构造的杯1包括形状为截头圆锥的侧壁2和圆形平坦底部3。侧壁2具有直立的密封件4,并且底部3与侧壁沿着其圆周密封在一起。在侧壁2的上端,借助于热和湿气,通过机械模制形成围绕杯口延伸的珠或口卷5。如果需要,可以提供单独的盖用于封闭杯口,例如WO 2005/077768 A1中所记载。
杯的侧壁2和底部3至少在杯1的内表面上具有聚合物的涂层。该涂层是液密的,其防止板基底经受润湿,并且能够使2、3部分隔液无泄露密封。优选地,饮用杯1在其外表面上也具有聚合物涂层。

在现有技术中,杯的底部3和侧壁2部分的材料包括纸板基底8以及PE和PP的共混物的单层涂层9。通常,板基底8的重量为约170-250g/m2,并且聚合物涂层9的重量为约20g/m2。在热密封处,所述共混物的相邻涂层9被密封在一起,但是如已经指出的,由于属于底部3的最中间板层限制了热量向密封区域的传导,所以PE+PP层之间的密封趋于不足。

实施例
通过共挤出10g/m2的WG341C(PP和PE的共混物)的内层和10g/m2的TD109CF(Borealis AG的丙烯α-烯烃共聚物,其开发用于制造特别是非取向膜并且所报导的熔点为128-132℃)的外层来挤出涂覆纸板。作为代表现有技术的参考,通过20g/m2的WG341C的单层来挤出涂覆相同的纸板。通过热密封将涂覆的材料转变成饮用杯1类型的杯,该材料形成杯的底部和侧壁,并且聚合物涂层在杯的内表面上。
对于根据本发明的双层涂覆的材料,需要400℃的热密封温度来实现杯的底部和侧壁之间的无泄漏热密封。对于单层涂覆的参考材料,密封需要490℃的热密封温度,其仍然质量较差。
制备相应的一对涂覆的材料,其中纤维板基底的两侧均被相同地涂覆,并且通过热密封将材料转变成杯。杯的底部和侧壁之间密封所需的热密封温度分别为430℃(本发明)和530℃(现有技术)。
热密封温度接近于传统LDPE涂覆的杯的热密封所需的温度,这意味着有利地相同的密封装置可以应用于根据本发明的杯以及所述传统的杯。
鉴于以上对本发明的详细描述,其他修改和变化对于本领域技术人员而言将变得显而易见。然而,应该显而易见的是,在不脱离本发明的精神和范围的情况下,可以实现这样的其他修改和变化。
Claims (10)
1.一次性板容器(1),包括底部(3)和由所述底部朝上延伸的侧壁(2),所述底部和侧壁由聚合物涂覆的纤维板制成并且通过热密封连接,至少在容器的内表面上具有内涂层(9)和外涂层(10),其特征在于所述板包括:
(i)纤维板基底(8),
(ii)聚乙烯(PE)和聚丙烯(PP)的共混物的挤出内涂层(9),和
(iii)丙烯-烯烃共聚物(PP-c)的挤出外涂层(10)。
2.权利要求1的容器,其特征在于内涂层(9)中的聚丙烯(PP)是丙烯均聚物。
3.权利要求1或2的容器,其特征在于内层(9)的所述共混物含有20至50重量%的PE和50至80重量%的PP。
4.权利要求1或2的容器,其特征在于内层(9)的重量为5至15g/m2,优选约10g/m2,并且外层(10)的重量为5至15g/m2,优选约10g/m2。
5.权利要求1或2的容器,其特征在于容器(1)的外表面提供有至少一个丙烯-烯烃共聚物或PE和PP的共混物的可热密封的涂覆层(11,12)。
6.权利要求5的容器,其特征在于容器(1)的内表面和外表面相同地用聚合物的层涂覆。
7.权利要求1或2的容器,其是可微波加热的食物托盘。
8.权利要求1或2的容器,其是一次性饮用杯(1)。
9.可热密封的纤维板用于制造热密封的一次性饮用杯(1)的用途,所述可热密封的纤维板包括:
(i)纤维板基底(8),
(ii)聚乙烯(PE)和聚丙烯(PP)的共混物的挤出内涂层(9),和
(iii)丙烯-烯烃共聚物(PP-c)的挤出外涂层(10)。
10.可热密封的纤维板用于制造热密封的可微波加热的食物托盘的用途,所述可热密封的纤维板包括:
(i)纤维板基底(8),
(ii)聚乙烯(PE)和聚丙烯(PP)的共混物的挤出内涂层(9),和
(iii)丙烯-烯烃共聚物(PP-c)的挤出外涂层(10)。
