Abstract

背景技术
计算机终端通常装载在仓库、生产设施和其它工作场所中的车辆上以收集和显示数据。例如,车载计算机通常在铲车和其它多用途车辆上被发现。车载计算机通常包括一个或多个用户接口,诸如触摸显示屏和键盘或小键盘。许多车载计算机还包括无线的无线电收发机,用于与诸如另一台计算机或服务器的远程设备进行通信。
车载计算机通常与车辆电池相连接以接收供电。传统的车载计算机包括电源开关或按钮,操作员可操纵该开关或按钮以打开或关闭车载计算机。很多时候,操作员离开车辆没有关闭电脑。例如,操作员可能在这一天结束的时候关闭车辆,但却忘记关闭车载计算机。这可耗尽电池并致使下一位操作员或下一个工作班次无法使用该车辆。此外,操作员经常在他们工作班次结束时忘记退出车载计算机系统。这会允许非授权用户访问车载计算机并可能访问车载计算机所连接的网络。另外,车载计算机操作系统可在一定量的空闲时间后要求用户再次登录。这样可防止其它操作员登录到锁定的计算机直至管理员能够解锁该计算机。
一些组织的计算机管理员偏好他们负责的计算机能够在不使用时处于特定的状态。例如,计算机管理员会请求使用者注销他们的计算机使得对应用程序和网络安全的更新可被执行。然而,许多计算机使用者未能遵循这些偏好,从而给管理者引起麻烦。
发明内容
本发明提供了借助车辆点火开关来控制计算机的方法和系统。计算机可以被装配到车辆或以其他形式安装在车辆上,诸如,铲车或多用途车辆。车辆点火开关可作为输入被逻辑上耦合到计算机的使得计算机可以检测或接收点火开关的位置的指示。例如,点火开关可以电耦合到计算机的电源按钮使得计算机操作系统检测点火开关的位置改变,类似于检测电源按钮的压下。

操作系统335逻辑地耦合到电源按钮225,例如经由系统总线323,以接收指示电源按钮225是否被按压的信号。响应接收该指示信号,操作系统335执行用户配置的动作。在特定示例性实施例中,操作系统335包括响应电源按钮335被按压的默认设置。用户可保留默认设置或按如下所述调整默认设置。

该独特的点火开关可配置行为使得当车辆105被关闭时,用户或计算机管理员能够将车载计算机110置于优选的状态。例如,当车辆105被关闭时,操作系统335可使车载计算机110切换到省电模式(例如休眠、待机、或关机)。或者,操作系统335可注销当前用户使得另一用户可登入车载计算机110。这种点火开关控制可避免用户需要有意识地将车载计算机110置于优选的状态,例如在工作班次结束的时候。

如图4所示,电源按钮475和电源按钮输入225串联地电耦合到电池413的负端子(接地)。在可选实施例中,电源按钮475和电源按钮输入225串联地电耦合到电池413的正端子,例如与计算机终端110的点火输入并联,该计算机终端110与操作系统335耦合。以此方式,电池413的负端子可在没有开关的情况下总是连接到车载计算机110。电源按钮475和点火输入可具有“始终开启”的逻辑(如果电源420和通/断开关435为“开”),该逻辑可通过电源按钮475或点火开关415来发起车载计算机110配置的响应。
图5是根据特定示例性实施例描绘了基于车辆点火开关415的位置来执行计算机动作的方法500的方框流程图。依照操作系统335描述了示例性方法500,该操作系统335响应点火开关415的位置而执行用户配置的动作。然而,另一个应用程序,诸如,逻辑地耦合到操作系统335 的“应用程序编程接口”(“API”)或电源管理实用应用程序,可执行用户配置的动作。
参照图1、图4和图5,在方框505中,基于点火开关415的位置,用户将车载计算机110的操作系统335配置为执行一个或多个动作或过程、切换到特定运行模式、执行应用程序模块336-337或传输数据至远程计算机349。例如,在车载计算机110处于活动状态时,操作系统335可被配置为响应点火开关415被切换至“关”的位置(或被按压,如果是瞬时开关)来切换到待机模式、休眠模式或关机。在另一个例子中,在车载计算机110处于活动状态时,操作系统335可被配置为响应点火开关415被切换至“关”的位置(或被按压,如果是瞬时开关)来提示用户做什么。在又一个实施例中,在车载计算机110处于活动模式时,操作系统335可被配置为响应点火开关被切换至“关”的位置或被按压来什么也不做、启动和执行应用程序模块336-337或注销车载计算机110的当前用户。在又一个实施例中,当车载计算机110处于活动模式时,操作系统335可被配置为响应点火开关415被切换至“关”的位置或被按压来传输比如批量库存数据的数据至远程计算机349。在又一个实施例中,当车载计算机110处于活动模式时,操作系统335可被配置为响应点火开关415被切换至“关”的位置或被按压来传输数据至远程计算机349并然后切换至非活动模式或省电模式。
在特定示例性实施例中,用户可经由控制菜单来配置操作系统335。例如,操作系统335可提供菜单,该菜单具有可能的响应点火开关415被置于特定位置或被按压而执行的动作或切换到的运行模式的列表。用户可从列表中选择一个或多个优选的动作来执行。在特定示例性实施例中,车载计算机110包括基于点火开关415的位置和可选地基于车载计算机110当前状态来执行的默认的动作。用户110可将车载计算机110定制为执行期望的动作而非默认动作。
在方框510中,操作系统335在存储器322中存储配置。在方框515中,操作系统335监视点火开关415。例如,操作系统335可监视电源按钮输入或另一个逻辑地耦合到点火开关415的输入。在方框520中,操作系统335进行查询以确定是否点火开关415的位置已经改变。例如,操作系统335可周期性地存储点火开关415当前位置。操作系统335可将点火开关415的当前位置与先前存储的位置进行比较以确定位置是否已经改变。如果点火开关415是按钮开关,操作系统335可监视点火开关415被按压。如果操作系统335确定点火开关415的位置已经改变(或已经被按压),则方法500顺着“是”分支到方框525。否则,方法500顺着“否”分支返回到方框515,在该处操作系统335继续监视点火开关415的位置。
在方框520中,操作系统335基于点火开关415的位置和可选地基于车载计算机110的当前状态来使车载计算机110执行配置的动作。例如,如果车载计算机110未处于活动模式,则配置的响应可以是响应点火开关415被打开或按压而将车载计算机110切换到活动模式。在另外一个例子中,如果车载计算机110处于活动模式,则配置的动作可以是切换到省电模式。方法500从方框525返回至方框515以监视火开关415的位置。

D4、 D1的系统,其中,指定的动作包括实质上改变车载计算机系统的功耗。

本领域普通技术人员将理解的是,本发明提供了一种车载计算机,该计算机具有由车辆点火开关控制的可配置行为。用户可以配置计算机响应点火开关被按压或点火开关的位置被调整来执行动作、切换到不同模式或执行软件应用程序。例如,计算机可配置为响应点火开关被置于关的位置来切换到待机模式、休眠模式、关机、提示用户选择动作或什么也不做。点火开关可以电耦合到计算机的输入,使得计算机操作系统或另一个应用程序可监视点火开关的状态。基于检测点火开关位置的改变或点火开关的致动,操作系统或应用程序可使计算机执行配置的响应。

Claims (24)
1.一种用计算机执行动作的方法,包括:
从所述计算机的用户接口接收用户输入,所述用户输入将所述计算机配置为响应于车辆的点火开关从第一位置切换到第二位置而自动执行的一个或多个动作;和
用计算机接收指示点火开关已经从第一位置切换到第二位置的信号;以及
响应于接收到所述信号而使得执行所述一个或多个动作。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述计算机通过经由电路电连接到所述点火开关的端口接收所述信号。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,进一步包括响应于接收到所述用户输入而将信息存储在计算机的非易失性存储器中,其中,所存储的信息将所述计算机配置为响应于接收到所述信号而执行所述一个或多个的动作。
4.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述一个或多个动作包括实质上改变所述计算机的功耗。
5.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述一个或多个动作包括以下之一:
将所述计算机切换到活动模式;
将所述计算机切换到待机模式;
将所述计算机切换到休眠模式;
将数据记录从计算机传输到远程服务器;以及
从所述计算机的一个或多个部件移除供电。
6.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述一个或多个动作包括以下之一:
提示用户从多个动作中进行选择和/或执行应用。
7.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述一个或多个动作是基于所述计算机的当前模式。
8.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述计算机在无线网络环境中使用到一个或多个远程外部计算机的逻辑连接来操作。
9.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述计算机还能够在没有车辆电源的情况下操作。
10.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中,用户通过重新配置所述计算机,用新动作来覆盖所所述一个或多个动作。
11.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述第一位置包括以下位置之一:
发动车辆的位置;
停止车辆的位置; 和
附属位置。
12.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述第二位置包括以下位置之一:
发动车辆的位置;
停止车辆的位置; 和
附属位置。
13.一种用计算机执行动作的系统,包括:
用于接收用户输入的装置,所述用户输入将计算机配置为响应于车辆的点火开关从第一位置切换到第二位置而自动执行一个或多个动作;
用于接收指示点火开关已经从第一位置切换到第二位置的信号的装置;和
用于响应于接收到所述信号而使得执行所述一个或多个动作的装置。
14.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中,通过经由电路电连接到所述点火开关的所述计算机的端口接收所述信号。
15.根据权利要求13所述的系统,进一步包括用于响应接收到输入而将信息存储在所述计算机的非易失性存储器中的装置,其中,所存储的信息将所述计算机配置为响应于接收到所述信号而执行所述一个或多个动作。
16.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中,所述一个或多个动作包括实质上改变所述计算机的功耗。
17.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中,所述一个或多个动作包括以下之一:
将所述计算机切换到活动模式;
将所述计算机切换到待机模式;
将所述计算机切换到休眠模式;
将数据记录从计算机传输到远程服务器;以及
从所述计算机的一个或多个部件移除供电。
18.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中,所述一个或多个动作包括以下之一:
提示用户从多个动作中进行选择和/或执行应用。
19.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中,所述一个或多个动作是基于所述计算机的当前模式。
20.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中,其中所述计算机在无线网络环境中使用到一个或多个远程外部计算机的逻辑连接来操作。
21.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中,所述计算机还能够在没有车辆电源的情况下操作。
22.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中,用户通过重新配置所述计算机用新动作覆盖所述一个或多个动作。
23.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中所述第一位置包括以下位置之一:
发动车辆的位置;
停止车辆的位置; 和
附属位置。
24.根据权利要求13所述的系统,其中所述第二位置包括以下位置之一:
发动车辆的位置;
停止车辆的位置; 和
附属位置。
