Abstract

本发明提供了一种生产电池级低镁低锌混合稀土金属的方法,该方法的特征是用P204(2~二乙基己基磷酸)萃取剂对作为原料的硫酸稀土进行萃取,用HCl进行反萃以去除杂质镁,然后用N235(三异辛胺)对上述反萃产物进行萃取以去除杂质锌而得到低镁低锌的氯化稀土,将之进行熔盐电解则得到所需的低镁低锌混合稀土金属。

Description

生产低镁低锌混合稀土金属的方法
本发明涉及低镁低锌混合稀土金属的生产方法,更具体地是涉及提纯作为制备混合稀土金属原料的氯化稀土的方法。
近年来随着镍氢电池的开发,对电池级混合稀土金属的需求日益增加,同时对混合稀土金属中的杂质锌和镁的限制越来越严格,这就相应地对作为生产混合稀土金属的原料氯化稀土提出了对锌和镁的同样严格要求。传统的方法是在氯化稀土中添加硫化碱除锌,由于以其生产的产品质量不稳定,稀土损失量大及劳动环境差等原因而急待改进。
因此本发明的目的在于提供一种生产电池级低镁低锌混合稀土金属的方法。
本发明是这样实现的:
①以常规方法制备折合稀土氧化物[REO]18~20g/l的硫酸稀土水溶液;②以1.2~1.5M的P204(2~二乙基己基磷酸)为萃取剂,对上述水溶液进行萃取;③含稀土的组份被萃入有机相中,而作为杂质的氧化镁MgO的成份留在余萃液中而被分离,随后将萃余液排放弃去;④所述负载稀土组份的有机相(其中REO含量13~16g/l),用PH 2.0~2.5的HCl溶液2级洗涤,以进一步洗去因物理夹带而进入该有机相的氧化镁和硫酸根离子,然后将洗涤液排放弃去;⑤用5.5~6.5N的HCl对该有机相进行反萃,使含稀土的组份成为氯化稀土溶液(RCl3),而有机萃取剂P204返回使用;(6)将反萃步骤获得的氯化稀土溶液用浓度为25~30%的N235(三异辛胺)进行萃取,氯化稀土留在萃余液中,而作为杂质的氧化锌(ZnO)萃入有机相,用水洗涤,有机相中ZnO被反洗到水溶液中随后被排放,而洗后的有机相N235被回收利用;⑦上一步骤中所得的萃余液用碳酸氢铵中和,经浓缩结晶后则得到低镁低锌氯化稀土,以此氯化稀土为原料用常规熔融电解方法制取低镁低锌电池级混合稀土金属。
上述步骤②中所述的萃取流比1∶0.8;④中所述的洗涤为二级逆流洗涤,流比为1∶0.2~0.3,洗液流量为21~31升/分;⑤中所述的反萃流比1∶0.07,⑥中添加10%以上的辛醇,流比以1∶3为佳;
附图是本发明工艺流程图。
下面通过实施例结合附图进一步解释本发明。
实施例:
用NH4HCO3中和至PH为4的含REO19g/l的硫酸稀土水溶液为原料,用1.5M的P204萃取,用工业盐酸和自来水配制的PH2的HCl洗液将负载有机相2级逆流洗涤,洗液用量31升/分,然后将洗涤液和萃余液排放;用6N的HCl对该洗过的有机相进行反萃(HCl用量6升/分),此时反萃液中MgO/REO为0.062%,P204返回使用,用浓度为27%的N235(三异辛胺)和10%的辛醇对反萃液进行萃取,流比为1∶3,使氯化稀土留在萃余液中,ZnO进入有机相,用水洗涤去除ZnO后该有机相返回使用。萃余液用碳酸氢胺中和经减压浓缩结晶得到稀土氯化物,其中MgO为0.05%,Zn为0.02%,该氯化稀土经熔盐电解后得到电池级混合稀土金属,其中Mg、Zn含量分别为0.09%、0.06%。
通过实施本发明的工艺可以生产出MgO<0.05%、Zn<0.03%的氯化稀土,从而保证了混合稀土金属中Mg<0.1%,Zn<0.07%,满足了镍氢电池生产的需求。本发明的方法与常规方法相比,除上述优点外尚有工序简便,可连续进行杂质去除,特别是镁和锌去除,生产质量稳定的氯化稀土原料和低镁低锌电池级混合稀土金属产品。

Claims (3)

1.一种生产电池级低镁低锌混合稀土金属的方法,其特征在于该方法由以下步骤组成:
(1)提供一种稀土氧化物[REO]为18~20g/l的硫酸稀土溶液为原料;
(2)以1.2~1.5M的P204(2~二乙基己基磷酸)为萃取剂,以1∶0.8的流比对所述硫酸稀土水溶液进行萃取;
(3)将含稀土的组份萃入有机相,而作为杂质的氧化镁MgO留在萃余液中,排放弃去;
(4)用PH 2.0~2.5的HCl将负载稀土组份的有机相洗涤2次,洗涤流比为1∶0.2~0.3,随后将洗涤液排放弃去;
(5)用5.5~6.5N的HCl对洗过的有机相进行反萃,流比为1∶0.07,反萃后的P204返回使用;
(6)将上述反萃步骤获得的氯化稀土溶液用浓度为25~30%的N235进行萃取,氯化稀土留在萃余液中,而杂质ZnO萃入有机相,所述有机相经用水洗涤后返回使用,洗涤液排放弃去;
(7)将于步骤(6)中所得的萃余液用碳酸氢铵中和,经浓缩结晶得到低镁低锌氯化稀土。
(8)将所述氯化稀土经熔盐电解得到低镁低锌的混合稀土金属。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中步骤(4)中所述的洗涤为二级逆流洗涤,流比为1∶0.2~0.3,洗液流量为21~31升/分。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中在步骤(6)中还添加10~15%的辛醇,其流比为1∶3。
