Abstract

现在参考图1,示出了根据一种示例的打印系统100的简化框图。

打印机控制器114能够例如基于喷嘴擦拭模块112上的编码器或位置探测器来精确地确定哪个喷嘴被喷嘴擦拭模块112阻挡。
因此,打印头104a上的第一组406喷嘴402被喷嘴冗余控制器310设置成被停用,而剩余喷嘴保持起作用。由喷嘴控制数据生成器116生成的旨在用于第一组406被停用喷嘴的喷嘴喷射数据被转至辅助打印头304上与打印头104a上被停用一组406喷嘴402对齐的喷嘴组410。
在一种示例中,被喷嘴冗余控制器310设置成被停用的喷嘴组覆盖比喷嘴擦拭机构112所实际阻挡的喷嘴更多的喷嘴。这实现预定数量喷嘴的额外安全裕量。但是,在另一些示例中,恰好被喷嘴擦拭机构112阻挡的那些喷嘴可以被设置成被停用。在图4a中,能够看出辅助打印头304的一组412喷嘴不对齐于任何打印头喷嘴,因此这组喷嘴也被设置成被停用。

在图4d中,喷嘴擦拭机构112和辅助打印头304再次进一步沿着打印杆102前进,以致打印头104b的喷嘴组406被喷嘴冗余控制器310停用。由喷嘴控制数据生成器116生成的旨在用于打印头104b的被停用喷嘴组406的喷嘴喷射数据被转至辅助打印头304的起作用喷嘴组410。
在当前示例中,喷嘴擦拭机构112和辅助打印头304同步运动。在一种示例中,喷嘴擦拭机构112和辅助打印头304可以被安装在同一可动托架上,例如辅助托架302上。在另一示例中,喷嘴擦拭机构112和辅助打印头304可以基本同步地运动。

Claims (12)
1.一种具有打印杆的打印系统,在所述打印杆上能够安装多个打印头,该系统包括:
喷嘴维修模块,其能够运动跨过所述打印杆的长度以便在一组打印头喷嘴上选择性执行喷嘴维修操作,
其中,所述打印杆上的所述打印头被设置成页宽阵列构造,以致当被安装时所述打印头大致覆盖能够执行打印的打印区域的整个宽度,并且其中,所述打印杆被定位在衬底上方预定高度处,并且进一步其中,所述喷嘴维修模块被构造成在一组打印头喷嘴上执行维修操作,而不需修改所述打印杆的所述高度,且不需中断正被执行的打印操作。
2.根据权利要求1所述的打印系统,其中所述喷嘴维修模块进一步包括喷嘴擦拭元件,以用于在一组打印头喷嘴上选择性执行擦拭操作。
3.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述一组打印头喷嘴位于一个或多个打印头上。
4.根据权利要求1所述的系统,其中所述喷嘴维修模块能够在一组打印头喷嘴上执行维修操作而不移动所述打印杆。
5.根据权利要求1所述的系统,进一步包括:
打印头托架,其可平行于所述打印杆运动并且其上能够安装有辅助打印头,该系统进一步包括控制器,该控制器:
将所述喷嘴维修模块从所述打印杆的一端移动到沿所述打印杆的一个位置处以便执行喷嘴维修操作;
与所述打印头维修模块同步地移动所述打印头托架;以及
在打印操作期间将旨在用于被所述打印头维修模块阻挡的所述打印杆上的打印头喷嘴的打印头控制数据传送到所述辅助打印头上的对应喷嘴电路。
6.根据权利要求5所述的系统,其中所述控制器被进一步构造成基于所述打印杆上的所述打印头和所述辅助打印头之间的水平距离来修改被传送的打印头控制数据的正时。
7.根据权利要求5所述的系统,其中所述辅助打印头代替一个以上的打印头上的喷嘴。
8.根据权利要求7所述的系统,其中所述辅助打印头上的所述喷嘴导致所述喷嘴被所述喷嘴维修模块阻挡。
9.一种在打印杆上的打印头上执行维修操作的方法,包括:
执行打印操作,其中,所述打印杆被定位在衬底上方预定高度处;
移动打印头维修模块以便在所述打印杆上的打印头的打印头喷嘴上执行维修操作,而不需修改所述打印杆的所述高度,且不需中断正被执行的打印操作;
将辅助打印头上的喷嘴定位成对齐于被所述打印头维修模块所阻挡的打印头喷嘴;以及
将旨在用于所述打印杆上的被阻挡喷嘴的喷嘴电路的打印头控制数据传送到所述辅助打印头上的喷嘴电路。
10.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其中所述执行打印操作的步骤包括:打印打印任务。
11.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其中所述移动打印头维修模块的步骤包括:将所述打印头维修模块从所述打印杆的一端移动到另一端以便在所述打印杆上的所有打印头上执行维修操作。
12.根据权利要求9所述的方法,进一步包括:基于所述打印杆上的所述打印头和所述辅助打印头之间的距离来修改被传送的打印头控制数据的正时。
