在一个实施例中,在任选的步骤220中,将所述体素值投影到脑的表面上。创建表面投影线。针对每个投影线,计算一值,并将其投影到皮质表面上。针对每个表面像素,将沿垂直于所述表面像素投影的线的图像体素组合。在一个范例中,所述像素值由f(GM(x∈pi),I(x∈pi))表示,其中GM(x)为存在于体素x的GM,I(x)为体素x处的强度,pi为投影线(沿垂直投影线的图像体素)并且f为基于所述GM和强度计算标量值的函数。例如,当时,沿所述线的最大加权强度体素被投影到所述表面像素。作为另一个范例,当时,其中Z为归一化因数,例如其被选择为单位元素(Z=1),或者针对沿所述线的GM密度归一化,所述表面像素值为沿所述线的所述体素加权强度的加权和或平均。在FDG PET中,所述投影线典型地为固定长度,例如13mm。针对在该技术中的应用,预期受所述GM图和对投影函数f的选择所限制的更大的线长度,例如15mm至20mm。
在可选的实施例中,使用位置相关的投影线长度来改进量化准确度。所述位置相关的投影线捕获所述皮质表面上的所述GM厚度的解剖学变异性。
在步骤230中,将统计制图应用于对象的体积或表面表示。针对每个体素或像素i计算t值(z评分),其中其中v(i)为体素强度并且μ(i)和σ(i)为被配准到公共空间的一组对象内的PET放射性示踪剂图像的体素i的估计平均偏差和标准偏差,所述公共空间具有良好定义的放射性示踪剂负载的状态,例如Aβ阴性的脑。一致地,并且关于强度归一化和对GM图的选择与当前对象相同地,处理对这样的组内的平均偏差和标准偏差的估计。所述统计制图提供所述图像与一组“正常”个体的比较,其得到所述图像体素不同于正常的概率。
在步骤240中,将所统计制图的体积或表面表示、脑表面投影、体积切片等等显示在显示器70上。在一种情况中,所述GM Aβ被显示为这样的图像,其仅包括GM,其中使用颜色示出Aβ水平以表示强度。所述显示包括诸如所述体积和/或表面投影的侧、中、上、下、前和后角度的视图。
参考图3,示范性描绘了具有对非诊断性摄取区域的抑制的图像中的改变。图像300、320、340为Aβ阴性脑,并且图像310、330、350为Aβ阳性脑。在上方图像对300、310中,白质和GM两者均显示有所述放射性示踪剂。在图像300中,Aβ阴性图像描绘没有Aβ。在图像310中,Aβ主导所述图像。相反,在图像330中抑制白质并仅显示GM,所呈现的Aβ得以显著减少。在图像350中进一步的增强源自应用个体GM分割(图2中的120、130)。图像320和340提供仅使用GM和仅用个体GM分割的GM的Aβ阴性图像的对比。
分割有诊断价值区域并抑制有摄取的其他区域的所述方法可以被应用于其他成像区。抑制摄取放射性示踪剂但对针对没有贡献的区域,可以被应用于身体的任何区,或任意放射性示踪剂的使用。抑制非诊断性区域并仅显示有诊断价值的区域提供更为准确的诊断。非诊断性区域主导所述体积和摄取越多,则抑制的优点越大。

Claims (14)
1.一种成像工作站(20),包括:
一个或多个处理器(40),其被编程为:

将所述图像配准(180)到公共空间,所述公共空间由所述感兴趣区域的MRI图像或模板限定,所述感兴趣区域包括分割的解剖特征,所述解剖特征为灰质;并且
提取(210)描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的体积表示,描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的体积表示描绘所述放射性示踪剂在所述分割的解剖特征中的所述分布并抑制所述分割的解剖特征之外的放射性示踪剂;
其中,所述解剖特征分割表示每个体素为灰质的概率,并且所述处理器通过将描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的每个体素与所述体素为灰质的所述概率组合,来提取所述体积表示;
其中,所述处理器还被编程为:
通过将所述体积表示的体素值投影到脑表面上,来计算(220)表面投影图像,其中,所述表面投影的所述计算包括基于所述概率的加权。
2.根据权利要求1所述的成像工作站(20),其中,所述感兴趣区域包括脑,并且所述放射性示踪剂强调了淀粉样沉积,所述放射性示踪剂包括[18F]-氟美他莫、[18F]-氟倍他苯和[18F]-氟倍他吡。
3.根据权利要求1-2中的任一项所述的成像工作站(20),其中,所述处理器还被编程为:
通过将每个体素与来自具有良好定义的状态的一组对象的图像进行比较来对以下中的至少一种进行统计制图(230):所述体积表示和所述表面投影。
4.根据权利要求1-2中的任一项所述的成像工作站(20),其中,所述处理器还被编程为:
接收(110)所述MRI图像;
分割(120)所述MRI图像中的所述解剖特征;并且
将所分割的解剖特征配准(130)到所述公共空间。
5.根据权利要求1-2中的任一项所述的成像工作站(20),还包括:
显示设备(70),其显示所述放射性示踪剂在所述解剖特征中的所述分布的表示。
6.根据权利要求1-2中的任一项所述的成像工作站(20),其中,所述成像工作站(20)接收来自以下中的至少一个的图像:正电子发射断层摄影(PET)扫描器(10),和磁共振(MR)扫描器(15)。
7.一种用于脑成像的方法,包括:
接收(170)描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的至少一个图像;
用一个或多个处理器:
将所述图像配准(180)到公共空间,所述公共空间由所述感兴趣区域的MRI图像或模板限定,所述感兴趣区域包括分割的解剖特征,所述解剖特征为灰质;
提取(210)描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的体积表示,描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的体积表示描绘所述放射性示踪剂在所述分割的解剖特征中的所述分布并抑制所述分割的解剖特征之外的放射性示踪剂;
其中,所述解剖特征分割表示每个体素为灰质的概率,提取(210)包括将描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的每个体素与所述体素为灰质的概率组合;并且
通过将所述体积表示的体素值投影到脑表面上,来计算(220)表面投影图像,其中,所述表面投影的所述计算包括基于所述概率的加权。
8.根据权利要求7所述的用于脑成像的方法,其中,所述感兴趣区域包括脑,并且所述放射性示踪剂强调了淀粉样沉积,所述放射性示踪剂包括[18F]-氟美他莫、[18F]-氟倍他苯和[18F]-氟倍他吡。
9.根据权利要求7-8中的任一项所述的用于脑成像的方法,还包括:

11.一种用于脑成像的装置,包括:
用于接收(170)描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的至少一个图像的单元;
用于将所述图像配准(180)到公共空间的单元,所述公共空间由所述感兴趣区域的MRI图像或模板限定,所述感兴趣区域包括分割的解剖特征,所述解剖特征为灰质;
用于提取(210)描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的体积表示的单元,描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的体积表示描绘所述放射性示踪剂在所述分割的解剖特征中的所述分布并抑制所述分割的解剖特征之外的放射性示踪剂;
其中,所述解剖特征分割表示每个体素为灰质的概率,提取(210)包括将描绘放射性示踪剂在感兴趣区域中的分布的所述图像的每个体素与所述体素为灰质的概率组合;以及
用于通过将所述体积表示的体素值投影到脑表面上,来计算(220)表面投影图像的单元,其中,所述表面投影的所述计算包括基于所述概率的加权。
12.根据权利要求11所述的用于脑成像的装置,其中,所述感兴趣区域包括脑,并且所述放射性示踪剂强调了淀粉样沉积,所述放射性示踪剂包括[18F]-氟美他莫、[18F]-氟倍他苯和[18F]-氟倍他吡。
13.根据权利要求11-12中的任一项所述的用于脑成像的装置,还包括:
