技术领域

背景技术
用于读取可解码标记的标记读取终端具有多种变化形式。例如,就销售点应用而言,通常使用没有键盘和显示器的特征最少的标记读取终端。没有键盘和显示器的标记读取终端提供为具有可辨认的枪式形状因子,具有手柄和可由食指驱动的触发按钮(触发器)。
也提供有具有键盘和显示器的标记读取终端。在运输和仓库应用中常使用装配有键盘和显示器的标记读取终端,并且其被提供为具有包含显示器和键盘的形状因子。在装配有键盘和显示器的标记读取终端中,用于驱动已解码消息输出的触发按钮典型地设置在这样的位置上,使得能由操作员的拇指驱动,或是在某些情况中还提供手柄以及能够由食指驱动的触发按钮。
具有不含键盘和显示器形式的或是装配有键盘和显示器形式的标记读取终端普遍应用于包括销售点应用、运输应用、仓库应用、安全检查点应用、以及病人护理应用的各种数据采集应用,以及个人用途,其常见于由具有标记读取功能的个人移动电话提供装配有键盘和显示器的标记读取终端的情况下。

发明内容

图1解释了根据本发明的一方面,具有双目标自动曝光能力的标记读取终端1000的一个实施例。例如,如以下所解释的那样,双目标自动曝光可包括不同的自动曝光能力,其中一个被定制为读取可解码标记,例如设置在基底17(例如纸张)上的条形码15,基底17例如附着在产品19或具有电子纸显示器的装置上,而另一个被定制为读取可解码标记,例如显示在电子设备120上的条形码115,例如屏幕125上,例如显示器、监视器、背光屏幕、LCD显示器、或其他屏幕,电子设备120例如作为移动电话、蜂窝电话、卫星电话、智能电话、遥测装置、个人数据助理、以及其他装置。

图2描述了根据对应于标记读取终端1000的示例性实施例的标记读取终端1000的框图。大体上,标记读取终端1000可包括照明子系统800、成像子系统900、手持外壳1014、存储器1085、以及处理器1060.
照明子系统800可操作用于投射照明图案1260(图1和2)。成像子系统900可包括图像传感器阵列1033以及操作用于将图像聚焦于图像传感阵列1033上的成像光学组件200。在此示例性实施例中,手持外壳1014(图1和2)容纳照明子系统800和成像子系统900。存储器1085能够存储图像,其中图像数据可表示入射在图像传感器阵列1033上的光。处理器1060操作用于对存储器1085进行寻址,并且处理图像数据的帧,例如处理以试图解码图像数据中表示的可解码标记。

简单来说,在图3表示的例子中,将转换时间期间的事件处理为发生在单个时间点。成像器的实际实现可使得这些事件在单个时间点同步,或在VSYNC信号非有效(inactive)时的时间范围内独立地发生。这样,成像器的实际使用典型地将这些事件处理为在VSYNC非有效时的任意时间都有可能发生,并将帧处理为从VSYNC信号的边缘至类似边缘。更加典型地,帧被处理为从VSYNC的一个有效边沿(going edge)至VSYNC的下一个有效边沿。

曝光值的写入以及获得在2帧之后由该曝光值产生的数据(即两帧管道),这个序列可以无限地继续,只要成像器处于供电状态并且运行于视频模式。
通过设计在像素数据从成像器移出时评价像素数据、然后在帧结束之前对成像器设置曝光值的自动曝光程序,自动曝光程序具有2帧周转。换句话说,自动曝光系统在像素数据由成像器产生时评价像素数据,在像素数据的转移完成前设置新的曝光值,以及在2帧之后产生具有该新曝光值的数据。这表示,每隔一个帧,特定的自动曝光程序会进行采样处理,并设置新的曝光值。因此,能够每隔一帧进行采样和更新的两个自动曝光程序能够相互穿插,一个程序对奇数帧操作,另一个对偶数帧操作。
图4示例了根据本发明一方面用于解码可解码标记的处理4000的实施例流程图。在框4002中,终端1000(图1和2)等待要启动的扫描,并且在框4006中,扫描例如由通过经由触发器1220(图1)的驱动而激活触发信号被启动。触发信号还可通过例如物体检测、或来自外部计算机的串行指令而激活。激活可包括成像装置的上电和/或起动成像器通过允许光敏像素累积电荷来开始记录图像数据。

此外,各种屏幕技术具有各种光学属性,并且在反射率或在各种形式的照明下光学干扰对屏幕成功成像的其他特性上具有很大的不同,其例如取决于例如底层技术、包含在屏幕里或在屏幕上的层的数量和类型、屏幕是彩色的还是黑白的,或者屏幕是否能够实现触摸输入等因素。多种类型的屏幕例如可以引发外部照明光源的基本上镜面反射。通过在成像子系统对图像数据的帧进行曝光的曝光时段制止照明子系统进行投射照明,成像子系统可以对目标标记进行成像而不会有来自屏幕的光学干扰结果,例如镜面反射,这样可使得终端1000可以更好地对标记进行成像和解码。
例如,可以使用例如采用照明(例如,利用照明子系统发射光)的第一方法、并使用诸如第一控制曝光参数或第一曝光值的第一控制参数对帧进行捕获。在初始捕获中,可提供照明,并且第一控制参数可以是使用照明时被预设或预先确定的第一控制参数,或可以是使用存储于最后触发的扫描中的照明而确定的最后计算出的第一控制参数。
照明曝光时段和非照明曝光时段可以按任何顺序在读取周期中被激活。例如,在各种示例性实施例中,周期中的第一曝光可为照明曝光,并且周期中的第二曝光可为非照明曝光,或周期中的第一曝光为非照明曝光,以及周期中的第二曝光可以为照明曝光。
图5示出了图4所示的流程图所指示的方法执行期间,与终端1000的操作有关的时序图。参考图5的时序图,信号5002为触发信号,其由触发器1220(图1)的驱动而变为有效,并且可以通过释放触发器1220(图1)而被去激活。触发信号也可在超时时段之后或是成功地对可解码标记进行解码之后变为无效。
信号5102为具有变化的激励等级的照明子系统800(图2)的输入信号,例如,示出照明图案,其中照明或光可以被交替地开启和关闭。时段5110、5120、5130、5140和5150示出了照明开启,而时段5115、5125、5135和5145示出了照明关闭。

应当注意到,照明时段5120和5140与曝光信号5202的任何有效部分都没有对准。这样做是为了维持照明图案的高频率的工作循环,其避免了还在产生采用和不用来自照明子系统的照明而曝光的图像时发生闪烁。
信号5302是VSYNC(垂直同步)信号,或另被称为帧有效信号。在帧之间的变换期间,VSYNC控制信号为低。在此时间内,写入成像器的(多个)曝光寄存器的曝光设置被锁存用于下一帧,给定帧的曝光窗关闭,如信号5202的负边沿所示,而在传感器阵列1033(图2)获取的电荷被存入二级储存装置中以准备将数据转移至装置外的时侯同样如此。当来自图像传感器阵列的图像数据使用DMA 1070(图2)或其他系统存储器路由装置从成像器二级储存装置转移至系统存储器1085(图2)(在大部分系统中至RAM存储器1080(图2))时,VSYNC控制信号是高电平有效的。
在图5的时序图中,时段5410、5415、5430、5435和5450是处理器1060可以处理像素数据的帧例如以确定图像数据的质量的时段。例如,时段5410、5430和5450对应于,当照明子系统800(图2)正对成像器的视场进行照明而传感器阵列1033(图2)正在累积电荷时的曝光时段产生的像素数据的质量的确定,并且时段5415和5435对应于,当照明子系统800没有对成像器的视场进行照明而传感器阵列1033(图2)正在累积电荷时的曝光时段产生的像素数据的质量的确定。
此外,在像素数据的质量确定期间,像素数据的处理快结束时,或像素数据处理结束时,可计算新的图像控制参数,其用于图像传感器阵列的随后的控制。例如,对使用对可解码标记进行照明的照明子系统800(图2)曝光的图像进行评价的时段5410期间,确定控制参数CP1。对使用没有对可解码标记进行照明的照明子系统800(图2)曝光的图像进行评价的时段5415期间,确定控制参数CP2。在本发明的一方面中,控制参数CP1可被用于在时段5230中,例如,使用对可解码标记进行照明的照明子系统800(图2)的阵列的下一曝光中,控制曝光控制信号,并且控制参数CP2可用于在时段5235中,例如,没有使用对可解码标记进行照明的照明子系统800(图2)的阵列的下一曝光中,控制曝光控制信号。应当意识到的是,控制参数可控制用于获取各种图像的其他参数。
图6为对应于图4方法和图5的时序图的帧序列的图解说明,示意了图像捕获,确定新控制参数,以及在随后的图像捕获中使用新参数。在图6中,示出了两个分开的和/或去耦的轨迹,例如,一个轨迹对应于可解码图像被照明的情况,而另一轨迹为可解码图像未被照明。例如,标记读取终端可提供大概500微秒的照明时段,大约5至大约15毫秒的非照明时段。应当意识到的是,标记读取终端可使用两种不同的自动曝光算法,其中一种被优化用于读取位于纸张上的条形码,并采用照明开启的帧,而另一种被优化用于读取来自诸如蜂窝电话显示器等的屏幕的条形码,并采用照明关闭的帧。在此例中标记读取终端包含两个帧管道。当曝光被设置为从帧X收集的信息的结果时,其影响帧X+1,但是该结果仅能在图像X+2中看出。相同的,当曝光设置为从帧X+1收集的信息的结果时,其影响帧X+2,但是该结果仅能在图像X+3中看出。全帧快门成像器可以应对逐帧曝光中的明显跳跃,因此两个曝光程序可以彼此穿插进行,而又彼此完全去耦。
从本描述可以意识到,根据本发明可以实现分开的和去耦的第三、第四或更多的轨迹。例如,第三轨迹可以采用处于减小的激励值的照明子系统。进一步还可意识到,本发明的标记读取终端还可确定或计算多于一个的控制参数,确定或计算的控制参数被用于随后的图像捕获。
同样应当意识到,图像控制参数可以为成像器的内部操作参数,例如,曝光时段值、增益控制值、帧速率值、伽马值、滤波系数或其他合适的控制参数。但是,其还可用于被用来成像的外部控制参数,例如照明控制、焦点调整、孔径调整、或能够影响图像数据如何被捕获和/或分析的其他功能。
图像控制参数可以例如,基于算法而确定。对满足信号对比度、亮度、焦点或成像器控制算法使用的其他图像特性的阈值标准的图像数据(即,1D或2D符号、文本、图像或其他标记)的帧进行接收或捕获的过程在下文被称为获取可接受的图像。因此,可接受的图像是这样一种图像,其落入由算法设置的目标图像要求的配置公差之内。存在多种能够影响如何获取可接受图像的因素。例如,在成像环境中的环境光等级、从成像器到物体的距离、物体的对比度特性、以及其他都能够影响到获取的图像的质量。在图像读取器中,成像器控制算法的质量可由其利用多个配置设置的能力来判断,并且使其自身在获取可接受图像时适合于各种成像情形。因此,成像器控制算法的质量可进一步由算法在任何给定的扫描环境中能够多快地进行成像器配置从而获得可接受图像测量。
例如,该算法可对像素,例如前百分之5的像素的亮度进行监测或评价。如果像素被确定为过亮,则可在下一图像的获取期间降低曝光控制参数的时间长度。如果像素被确定为太暗,则可在获取下一图像期间增加曝光控制参数的时间长度。
如以上所提到的,一个轨迹的控制参数可包括第一算法,第二轨迹的控制参数可包括第二算法。第一和第二控制参数可以是不相同的和/或第一和第二控制参数可以是相同的但是具有不同的值。在本发明中使用的进一步的算法包括在Meier等的题为“适应性光学图像读取器”的U.S.专利No.7,874,485、以及Harper等的题为“用于自动曝光控制的方法和装置”的U.S.专利No.7,148,923中描述的算法,这些专利的全部内容通过引用的方式结合在本文中。
在一实施例中,终端1000(图1)可适于使图像数据帧免受解码尝试,除非该帧被确定为具有适合于解码尝试的质量。再次参考图5的时序图,其中示出了一个特定的实例,CPU1060(图2)根据相对于特定帧处于解码尝试处理时段5500的解码处理线程不会开始解码处理,直到作为在诸如时段5410、5415、5430等的处理期间发生的处理的结果,对于特定帧的评价被确定为具有适合于解码尝试的质量。虽然终端1000(图1)可被操作为使连续帧的每个帧都经受图像质量评价处理,并且选择了该连续帧的子集进行解码处理,应当意识到并非每个帧都需要被评价。例如,当图像轨迹中的一个(例如,具有照明)相比于其他轨迹(例如,不具有照明)提供了更高的质量评价时,接下来只对一个轨迹进行评价。对图像质量的评价可与预定的标准和/或与图像轨迹的在先图像质量进行比较。高于阈值预定标准的或高于在先图像质量的质量分数可致使帧图像由处理器1060(图2)进行解码处理。可在处理图象帧质量时应用各种滤波器。滤波可使用IQ滤波器。可结合在预设发明中的其它处理滤波器包括均由Wang等提出的U.S.专利申请公开号2010/0108769和U.S.专利申请公开号2010/0108769,这些申请的全部主题通过引用的方式结合在此。基于一个或更多个被选图象帧的标记的成功解码结束终端1000的扫描。
再次参考图2,标记读取终端1000可包括图像传感器1032,其包括具有排列为像素行和像素列的像素的多像素图像传感器阵列1033、相关的列电路1034和行电路1035。与图像传感器1032相关联的为放大器电路1036(放大器),以及模拟至数字转换器1037,其将从图像传感器阵列1033中读出的模拟信号形式的图像信息转换为数字信号形式的图像信息。图像传感器1032还可具有用于控制诸如图像传感器1032的曝光时段、应用于放大器1036的增益等的相关时序和控制电路1038(合并上文所描述的控制参数算法)。标出的电路组件1032、1036、1037和1038可被封装在共同的图像传感器集成电路1040中。图像传感器集成电路1040相比于标出的组件数目可合并更少组件。
在一实例中,图像传感器集成电路1040可由可从Micron科技公司得到的例如MT9V022(752×480像素阵列)或MT9V023(752×480像素阵列)图像传感器集成电路提供。在一实例中,图像传感器阵列1033可以为单色和彩色混合图像传感器阵列,其具有没有彩色滤波元件的单色像素的第一子集和具有色敏滤波元件的彩色像素的第二子集。在一实例中,图像传感器集成电路1040可以合并Bayer模式滤波器,这样在图像传感器阵列1033定义红色像素位置的红色像素、绿色像素位置的绿色像素、以及蓝色像素位置的蓝色像素。采用合并Bayer模式的这种图像传感器阵列而提供的帧可包括在红色像素位置处的红色像素值、绿色像素位置处的绿色像素值、以及在蓝色像素位置处的蓝色像素值。在合并Bayer模式图像传感器阵列的实施例中,在将帧提交进一步处理之前处理器1060可使用绿色像素值在位于绿色像素位置中间的帧像素位置处插入像素值,从而生成图像数据的单色帧。可选择地,处理器1060在将帧提交进一步处理之前,使用红色像素值在位于红色像素位置的中间插入像素值,以生成图像数据的单色帧。处理器1060还可选择地,在提交帧进行进一步处理之前,利用蓝色像素值在蓝色像素位置中间插入像素值。终端1000的成像子系统可包括图像传感器1032和用于将图像聚焦于图像传感器1032的图像传感器阵列1033上的透镜组件200。
在终端1000的操作过程中,图像信号从图像传感器1032中读出、转换、并被存储在系统存储器,例如RAM 1080中。终端1000的存储器1085可包括RAM 1080、诸如EPROM 1082的非易失性存储器以及诸如由闪速存储器或硬驱动存储器所提供的储存设备1084。在一实施例中,终端1000可包括处理器1060,其可适于读出存储在存储器1080中的图像数据,并将该图像数据提交给各种图像处理算法。终端1000可包括直接存储器访问单元(DMA)1070,以将从图像传感器1032中读出的已经被提交转换的图像信息路由至RAM 1080。在另一实施例中,终端1000可采用提供总线仲裁机制的系统总线(例如,PCI总线)从而无需使用中央DMA控制器。本领域技术人员可以认识到,在图像传感器1032和RAM 1080间提供有效数据传输的系统总线体系和/或直接存储器访问组件的其他实施例也处于本发明的范围和精神之内。
仍然参考图2,并参考终端1000的进一步方面,成像透镜组件200适于将在基底上或屏幕上的处于视场1240内的可解码标记15的图像聚焦于图像传感器阵列1033上。终端1000的视场1240的目标空间尺寸可以以多个可选择方式进行改变。视场1240的目标空间尺寸可通过,例如,改变终端到目标的距离、改变成像透镜组件设置、改变图像传感器阵列1033将要被读出的像素数量,而改变。成像光线可沿着成像轴25进行传播。透镜组件200适于实现多种焦距和多种最优聚焦平面(最佳聚焦距离)。
终端1000可包括用于对目标照明和投射照明图案1260的照明子系统800。在示出的实施例中,照明图案1260可以被投射为接近但大于由视场1240定义的区域,但是也可以被投射在小于由视场1240所定义区域的区域中。照明子系统800可以包括光源库500,其包含一个或多个光源。光源组件800可进一步包括一个或更多个光源库,例如,其每个都包括一个或更多个光源。在示例性实施例中,这种光源可示例性地包括发光二极管(LED)。在各种实施例中可以应用具有多种波长和滤波器或者波长或滤波器的组合其中任何一种的LED。在其它实施例中还可以应用其他类型的光源。光源可以被示例性地安装在印刷电路板上。可以与示例性地安装有具有图像传感器阵列1033的图像传感器集成电路1040的印刷电路板相同。
终端1000还可包括对准子系统600,用于投射对准图案(未示出)。包括光源库的对准子系统600可被耦合至对准光源库功率输入单元1208,以向对准子系统600的光源库提供电功率。功率输入单元1208可通过接口1108被耦合至系统总线1500,从而与处理器1060通信。

终端1000可以按已知为帧速率的速率捕获图像数据的帧。典型的帧速率为60帧每秒(FPS),其转化为帧时间(帧周期)为16.6ms。另一典型的帧速率为30帧每秒(FPS),转化为帧时间(帧周期)为33.3ms每帧。可以通过减少帧图片尺寸而提高终端1000的帧速率(并减少帧时间)。

Claims (13)
1.一种用于获得图像的装置,所述装置包括:
照明子系统,可操作以用于投射照明图案;
成像子系统,其包含图像传感器阵列和操作来将图像聚焦于所述图像传感器阵列上的成像组件;
合并所述照明子系统和所述成像子系统的外壳;
其中所述装置适于基于第一控制参数获取在所述照明图案的照明部分期间曝光的第一多个图像,其中基于所述第一多个图像的前一图像为所述第一多个图像的下一图像调整所述第一控制参数,并且适于基于第二控制参数获取在所述照明图案的非照明部分期间曝光的第二多个图像,其中基于所述第二多个图像的前一图像为所述第二多个图像的下一图像调整所述第二控制参数,所述第一控制参数的调整与所述第二控制参数的调整相比被不同地确定;以及
其中所述第一多个图像的获取与所述第二多个图像的获取是交叉进行的并且并行获得,并且所述第一多个图像的获取和所述第一控制参数的调整与所述第二多个图像的获取和所述第二控制参数的调整是分开的,
其中所述装置可操作来尝试使用所述第一多个图像中的至少一个图像来解码基底上的可解码标记,并可操作来尝试使用所述第二多个图像中的至少一个图像来解码布置在背光显示器上的可解码标记。
2.如权利要求1所述的装置,进一步包括:所述装置可操作来尝试利用所述第一多个图像和第二多个图像中的一个或更多个图像对可解码标记进行解码。
3.如权利要求1所述的装置,进一步包括:操作来投射照明图案的照明子系统,该照明图案可操作来用于获取所述第一多个图像和所述第二多个图像。
4.如权利要求1所述的的装置,其中所述第一多个图像和所述第二多个图像被均匀交叉,使得在图像N处获得的所述第一控制参数被用于图像N+2,并且使得在图像N+1处获得的所述第二控制参数被用于图像N+3。
5.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述第一控制参数和所述第二控制参数包括具有不同值的相同控制参数。
6.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述第一控制参数包括第一曝光控制参数,并且所述第二控制参数包括第二曝光控制参数。
7.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述装置可操作来基于所述第一多个图像和所述第二多个图像中的至少一个图像的像素数据质量确定质量评价。
8.如权利要求7所述的装置,进一步包括:所述装置可操作来基于所述质量评价尝试解码来自所选择图像的可解码标记。
9.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述装置可操作来尝试对包含条形码的可解码标记进行解码。
10.如权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述装置包括手持标记读取终端。
11.一种用于获得图像的方法,该方法利用成像子系统和利用操作以用于投射照明图案的照明子系统,所述成像子系统包含图像传感器阵列和操作来将图像聚焦于所述图像传感器阵列上的成像组件;合并所述成像子系统和照明子系统的外壳,该方法包括:
基于第一控制参数自动获取在所述照明图案的照明部分期间曝光的第一多个图像,其中基于所述第一多个图像的前一图像为所述第一多个图像的下一图像调整所述第一控制参数;以及
基于第二控制参数自动获取在所述照明图案的非照明部分期间曝光的第二多个图像,其中基于所述第二多个图像的前一图像为所述第二多个图像的下一图像调整所述第二控制参数;
第一控制参数的自动调整与第二控制参数的自动调整交叉进行、相互分开而且并行获得,其中与第二控制参数的调整相比,第一控制参数的调整被不同地确定。
12.一种用于对可解码标记进行解码的方法,该方法包括:
从标记读取终端将照明图案投射至可解码标记上;
自动地调整标记读取终端中用于捕获在照明图案的照明部分期间曝光的第一多个图像的第一控制参数;
自动地调整标记读取终端中用于捕获在照明图案的非照明部分期间曝光的第二多个图像的第二控制参数,使得第一控制参数的自动调整与第二控制参数的自动调整交叉进行,而且并行获得;
以及尝试使用第一和第二多个图像中的一个或更多个图像对可解码标记进行解码。
13.如权利要求12所述的方法,其中第一多个图像和第二多个图像被均匀地交叉,使得在图像N处获得的第一控制参数被用于图像N+2,并且使得在图像N+1处获得的第二控制参数被用于图像N+3。
