本发明大体上涉及铁路耦合器领域,且更具体地说涉及耦合器主体和其中的有助于确定锁紧状态下的锁的相对位置且因而改进转向节旋转的改进。
背景技术
轨道车厢上的耦合器组合件有时候并不在锁紧状态下正确操作。当耦合器处在锁紧位置时,耦合器仍然啮合,但轨道车厢之间的牵拉力允许其被牵拉开。耦合器的转向节可能抵靠着锁而堵塞,从而阻止了转向节的正确旋转。在一些情况下,可能多达50%的时候,锁紧状态下会发生转向节与锁的过盈,从而要求用户提起解耦杠杆且将其固持在其升到最高的位置以促进解耦。当解决转向节与锁之间的锁紧堵塞问题时,传统重点在于锁及其与投掷器的界面。
在重点仅在于先前专利中解决的位置的情况下解决这些问题的选择是有限的,所述专利例如第2,350,470号、第2,709,007号、第3,850,312号、第4,084,705号和第4,363,414号美国专利,其全部以全文引用方式并入本文。当重点仅在于系统的配合部分时选择也是有限的。

需要在不显著区别于已被接受的耦合器组合件的情况下改进转向节旋转以消除所述堵塞。
发明内容
在第一实施例中,提供一种改进型耦合器主体,其在上部锁腔室中具有增加的材料的区域。
在第二实施例中,提供一种改进型耦合器主体,其在所述耦合器主体的上部锁腔室的前面上包含增加的材料的区域。
在第三实施例中,提供一种改进轨道车厢耦合器的耦合器主体中的锁在锁紧状态下的位置的方法,其包括以下步骤:提供耦合器主体;以及将材料添加到耦合器主体的上部锁腔室的前面。

具体实施方式
本发明的意图是改进转向节从锁紧状态的旋转。这是通过最大化或将材料添加到上部锁腔室的前部来实现的。还可增加或最大化耦合器主体的投掷器支撑表面的相对高度。这些变化单独或组合起来可影响锁在锁紧状态下的相对位置。
图1展示分解耦合器10,以便将本发明置于适当上下文中,且图2展示处于经组装配置中的同一耦合器10。展示主体12、转向节14、锁16、投掷器18、枢轴销20及锁提起组合件22。图3a到3e为了参考而说明处于“锁定”、“锁紧”或“解锁”配置中的锁16。在图3e中,锁16处于解锁配置中。在图3b、3c和3d中,锁16处于锁紧位置中,且在图3a中,锁16处于锁定位置中。

添加到上部锁腔室24的前面28的材料26的量可从约0.125″到约0.25″不等。所述材料26可用肋部、垫的形式添加,或者通过将材料添加到整个表面来添加。如果锁16及转向节14未正确定位,则如图7a到图7c中说明的形成转向节圆角30的中心及锁圆角32的中心的特征将过盈。这些圆角30、32的过盈将导致转向节14堵塞,这将使得耦合器组合件10无法正确运转。
本发明考虑整个系统,而不是只考虑锁16及投掷器18。通过使用计算机辅助设计(CAD)技术,为每一零件建模,且作为完整的系统来检查其操作。之前,可能已用实际零件为交互作用建立原型,于是对每一变量的所有不同排列及不同组合均已建立原型。这使得对两个以上特征相对于彼此的分析极为费力、极为耗时且完成起来极为昂贵。另外,如果解决方案依赖于可装卸零件中的一者(即,锁16或投掷器18),那么当零件从主体移除时,固定装置也移除。本发明提供位于耦合器主体10上的解决方案,所述零件通常使用时间最长且更换频率最低。
应注意,在不偏离所主张发明的范围的情况下,可对当前的实施例进行各种各样的变化。可向指定区域添加更多或更少的材料。只要材料不引起对耦合器转向节或任何其它耦合器组件的旋转的进一步干扰,所述区域也可变化。
因此,希望将先前具体详细描述视为说明性而非限制性的,且应了解,希望是所附权利要求书(包含所有等效物)来定义本发明的精神及范围。

Claims (10)

1.一种用于铁路耦合器的改进型耦合器主体,所述耦合器主体包括:
上部锁腔室,其具有增加材料的区域,所述增加材料添加到所述上部锁腔室的前面的整个表面,其中所述增加材料的区域将锁的头部更靠后定位以更完全地放置到可在所述耦合器主体内移动的投掷器上,由此改进锁紧位置的转向节旋转,且其中所述增加材料的区域包括多达0.25"的材料。
2.根据权利要求1所述的改进型耦合器主体,其中所述增加材料的区域包括至少0.125"的材料。
3.根据权利要求1所述的改进型耦合器主体,其中所述增加材料的区域包括垫。
4.根据权利要求1所述的改进型耦合器主体,其中所述材料是额外的焊接上的材料。
5.一种用于铁路耦合器的改进型耦合器主体,所述耦合器主体包括:

将材料添加到所述耦合器主体的所述上部锁腔室的前面的整个表面,其中将0.125"与0.25"之间的材料添加到所述上部锁腔室的所述前面。
