Abstract

技术领域
本发明一般涉及滑动轴承材料,特别涉及具有被固定至金属衬背(metalbacking)的合金的滑动轴承材料及其构造方法。
背景技术
众所周知,现有的滑动轴承和轴衬(bushing)归为两个基本类别:为基本全致密产品的滑动轴承和轴衬,在其中,相对较软的轴承金属被固定至刚性的钢衬背;以及由烧结青铜粉末合金制成的、并高度多孔的滑动轴承和轴衬,其具有用于吸收油或浸渍其他材料例如PTFE的一开放的、高度互连的多孔结构。
拥有具有高度互连的多孔结构的高孔隙率轴承并不总是合意的,因为这种轴承在某些情况下过于具有吸收性。通过小心控制青铜颗粒的尺寸(理想地,该颗粒为相同尺寸),获得开放的、互连的多孔结构,以最小化烧结颗粒之间的隙间的连接空间。采用单尺寸青铜颗粒是昂贵的,因为一批生产的颗粒仅有相对小百分比具有基本相同的尺寸。应当理解,在该混合物中包括较小颗粒将导致其迁移至开放空隙,从而降低互连孔隙率的水平。
基本无铅的烧结粉末金属轴承材料——包括含有替代铅的一定量的铋的青铜合金轴承——也是已知的。该材料可由美国专利6,746,154获知。这些轴承可通过将预合金的CuSnBi粉末散布在钢衬背上、轧辊压实该材料、烧结该压实的材料、继而进行二次辊压和烧结操作而生成,以产生一基本无孔的材料(即,孔隙率小于1%)。这些材料不是由单尺寸颗粒制成的,以最大化该材料的致密化。
发明内容
一滑动轴承(或轴衬)包括具有孔隙率范围为2%至约10%的Cu-Sn-Bi合金。至少多数孔隙是不互连的。换言之,尽管该材料对Cu-Sn-Bi合金而言显示出相对的高度的孔隙率,该孔隙率从传统青铜轴衬意义上说是不互连的,而是孤立的,使得这些孔起着穴的作用,但不是导致开放孔的网络的管道。

具体实施方式
详细参考附图,图1示出了根据本发明的一个当前优选方面构造的一滑动轴承材料,下文以轴承10指代。该轴承10包括可由钢制成的一金属衬背层12和由Cu-Sn-Bi合金材料制成的一滑动合金粉末层14。根据本发明,该滑动层14具有实质上非互连的孔16。因此,滑动合金层14内的孔16的绝大多数保持彼此间隔,使得它们是分离的并彼此不连通,从而避免过于具有吸收性。
根据本发明,图2示意性地图示了制造该受控的、非连接孔的、合金粉末轴承层14的方法。与构造合金轴承层的现有方法不同,有创意的本方法不在于选择单尺寸颗粒(这已知是昂贵的),如上文在背景技术中所描述的,这对烧结青铜油浸渍轴承是传统的,而是在于合金滑动轴承材料层14的处理方式。特别地,Cu-Sn-Bi粉末优选选择为预合金粉末,其中,该粉末混合物的颗粒的个体尺寸可以不同,从而在生产中是经济的。粉末层14被散布在钢衬背条层12上,并在最初烧结阶段中(primary sintering stage)在烧结站24被烧结。因此,该烧结步骤在进行前并不首先压实该粉末层14,从而消除了背景技术中所述的一个步骤,并与构造滑动轴承合金材料层的已知方法比较起来,在该阶段导致该材料的低的相对密实度和硬度。在最初烧结阶段之后并当依然热时,该材料在与全致密Cu-Sn-Bi轴承比较起来(如上文在背景技术中所述)减小的载荷下,在压实站28被辊压,从而在该阶段进一步导致该烧结材料的低的相对密实度和硬度。然后,该材料在二次烧结阶段(secondarysintering stage)在烧结站30再次被烧结。在完成该二次烧结步骤后,该轴承材料10已随时可用了,而不需要进一步压实。
令人惊讶的是,申请人发现通过调整辊压工艺并消除一个烧结步骤,即在后的二次烧结,预合金的Cu-Sn-Bi粉末的颗粒尺寸的标准混合物可被用来制造具有低百分比的互连孔的、相对高孔隙率的Cu-Sn-Bi轴承层。合金轴承材料层14具有总的层体积的约2%至约10%的孔隙率的合意特性,但是孔的大多数——超过50%——是不互连的。合金轴承材料层14将油保持在单独的孔16内,这些孔保持彼此不直接连通,例如通过不由管道而被互连,但是从具有互连孔的传统烧结青铜轴承的意义上说,合金轴承材料层14不吸收油。
进一步发现,压实和作为结果的非互连孔结构16可受辊压速度的影响,低的线速度有利于所需高孔隙率的形成,但孔的互连性则低。
此等轴承材料可被应用于钢衬背并在含油环境中用作滑动轴承或轴衬的轴承材料。
铋的存在具有在缺油运行状态时提供额外润滑的有益效果,以为轴承补充那里可用的少量的油。
显然,在上述教导下,可能对本发明进行多种修正和变型。因此,应当理解,在所附权利要求的范围内,本发明可以不同于具体描述的方式实施。

Claims (10)

1.一种轴承材料,包括:
一Cu-Sn-Bi合金层,该合金层包括预合金的CuSnBi粉末,该合金层具有范围为2%至10%的孔隙率,大多数所述孔隙率具有分离的、彼此不直接连通的孔,使得所述孔彼此不互连。
2.如权利要求1所述的轴承材料,其特征在于,所述轴承材料进一步包括连接至所述合金层的一金属衬背层。
3.如权利要求1所述的轴承材料,其特征在于,所述预合金的CuSnBi粉末包括具有不同尺寸的个体颗粒。
4.如权利要求1所述的轴承材料,其特征在于,所述合金层被烧结。
5.一种构造轴承材料的方法,包括:
提供一金属衬背层;
将一Cu-Sn-Bi合金粉末材料层散布在该衬背层上,该合金粉末材料层包括预合金的CuSnBi粉末;
在最初烧结步骤烧结该粉末材料层,最初烧结步骤进行之前不首先压实该粉末材料层;
在最初烧结步骤之后压实该烧结的粉末材料层;以及
在二次烧结步骤烧结该压实的材料层而不需要进一步压实;
其中,在完成二次烧结步骤后提供具有范围为2%至10%的孔隙率的Cu-Sn-Bi合金粉末材料层,该合金粉末材料层包括预合金的CuSnBi粉末;
在完成二次烧结步骤后提供具有分离的、彼此不直接连通的孔的大多数孔隙率,使得所述孔彼此不互连。
6.如权利要求5所述的方法,其特征在于,二次烧结步骤是该合金粉末材料层的最后工艺步骤。
7.一种构造轴承材料的方法,包括:
在最初烧结步骤烧结一Cu-Sn-Bi合金粉末材料层,该合金粉末材料层包括预合金的CuSnBi粉末,最初烧结步骤进行之前不首先压实该粉末材料层;
在最初烧结步骤之后压实该烧结的粉末材料层;以及
在二次烧结步骤烧结该压实的材料层,以使所得到的烧结材料层具有范围为2%至10%的孔隙率,大多数所述孔隙率具有彼此不互连的孔而不需要进一步压实。
8.如权利要求7所述的方法,其特征在于,所述方法进一步包括提供一金属衬背层,以及在最初烧结步骤之前将该预合金的CuSnBi粉末散布在该衬背层上。
9.如权利要求7所述的方法,其特征在于,二次烧结步骤结束对该合金粉末材料的处理。
10.如权利要求7所述的方法,其特征在于,所述方法进一步包括提供具有不同颗粒尺寸的所述预合金的CuSnBi粉末。
