Abstract

电连接器
【技术领域】
本发明涉及一种电连接器,尤其涉及一种用于连接一个基板(如柔性扁平电缆)的电连接器。
【背景技术】
柔性扁平电缆(FPC)连接器通常组装到一个电路板上,用来连接柔性扁平线缆。此电连接器在结构上可分为绝缘本体及组装在绝缘本体中的导电端子。其中,绝缘本体通常为扁平矩形构造,并设有一个供柔性扁平线缆插入的插槽或开口。导电端子成单排设置在绝缘本体中,其一端暴露于插槽中用于和柔性扁平线缆上的导电体相电性导通,另一端可通过焊接的方式固定到电路板。现有技术的缺陷在于,随着对扁平线缆及对应连接器的速度要求越来越高,导电端子的数目也越来越多,使得现有连接器的长度越来越大,这样则不符合电子产品轻薄短小的发展趋势,同时扁平纵长并于其中开设插槽的结构,不利于绝缘本体的成型,且绝缘本体的强度也较难达到理想状态。此外,这样的结构亦会影响到电性连接的稳定性。
因此有必要对现有技术改良以克服现有技术的前述缺陷。
【发明内容】
本发明的目的在于提供一种便于制造的电连接器。
本发明的目的在于提供一种结构稳定,连接可靠的电连接器。
本发明电连接器是通过以下技术方案实现的:一种电连接器,用于连接一基板,其包括绝缘本体及组装在绝缘本体中的若干导电端子,绝缘本体设有供基板插入的插槽,并于插槽周围形成顶壁、底壁及左右两侧壁,导电端子组装在底壁上并具有伸入到插槽中的接触部,其中导电端子在底壁上呈矩阵排列,在基板的插入方向上至少具有两排导电端子。
本发明具有如下有益效果:由于导电端子呈矩阵排列,可以降低绝缘本体的长度,有助于绝缘本体制造时的成型,同时可以提高绝缘本体的强度,并有利于保证电性连接的稳定性。

【具体实施方式】
图1至图7为本发明电连接器100的第一实施例,其安装于电路板5上用来连接基板4。电连接器100与电路板5、基板4一同构成一个电连接装置200。电连接器100包括绝缘本体2以及组装于绝缘本体2中的若干导电端子3。参图4至图6所示,电连接器100通过四个锁固件6安装至电路板5上,导电端子3通过表面压接的方式实现与电路板5之间的电性连接。图8所示为本发明电连接器的第二实施例与电路板5及基板4共同构成的电连接装置300,其结构与第一实施例基本相同,仅导电端子3是以上下颠倒的方式组装入绝缘本体2中。图9至图10所示为本发明第三实施例构成的电连接装置400,其中导电端子3通过焊接的方式连接至电路板5上。
如图1至图7所示,绝缘本体2为扁平纵长型的矩形构造,其在一个前端面向后开设而形成一个插槽21,并使绝缘本体2于插槽21周围形成一个顶壁24、一个底壁26及左右两个侧壁27、28。顶壁24与底壁26相平行,基板4水平插入到插槽21中。如图2所示,绝缘本体2的底部设有若干沿基板4插入方向延伸并相互平行排列的凹槽22,凹槽22从底壁26的底面向上凹进一段距离。每一个凹槽22内设有若干倾斜延伸并贯穿底壁26的端子孔23,端子孔23与凹槽22和收容槽21相连通。每一凹槽22中的端子孔23相互隔开并排成一个列,同时不同凹槽22中的对应端子孔23排成若干排,从而使得端子孔23整体呈矩阵排列。导电端子3对应地插入到端子孔23中,因此亦呈矩阵排列,在基板4的插入方向上至少具有两排导电端子3(图6中所示为七排导电端子3)。
至于矩阵的排与列的数量则需根据导电端子的数目而定。侧壁27、28的下方各设有一个狭槽25,其可用来收容一对固定件(未图示),如焊接片等,从而将绝缘本体2固定于电路板5上。绝缘本体2的四个角落分别设有一个用于供锁固件6插入的通孔29。
如图3及图4所示,基板4于插入到插槽21中的一端上设有若干导电体41,用于和导电端子3接触。电路板5亦设有若干导电片51用于和导电端子3接触。另外,电路板5上还设有与锁固件6相配合而将电连接器100固定于电路板5上的固定孔52。
如图7所示,导电端子3包括第一固持部30和及第二固持部33、自第一固持部30向上延伸并向第二固持部33弯曲的第一接触部31以及连接第一、第二固持部30、33底缘的呈圆弧状的第二接触部32。在第一实施例中,第一固持部30为可动固持部,而第二固持部33不可动地固持在端子孔23中。第一接触部31、第二接触部32和第二固持部33从中间分开形成分叉结构,可有助于稳定的电性连接。
一并参图6,组装导电端子3时,将导电端子3由绝缘本体2底部装入,第一及第二固持部30、33各自抵持于端子孔23的倾斜的内壁230上从而将导电端子3安装并固定于端子孔23中。第一接触部31伸入到插槽21中,第二接触部32位于凹槽22中。导电端子3的第一固持部30较第二固持部33更靠近于插槽21的开口。当基板4插入到插槽21中时,基板4于导电端子3的第一接触部31上滑行,并使得第一固持部30发生弹性变形并与端子孔23的内壁230之间形成一个楔形的空间29。当基板4达到指定位置时,其上的导电体41分别对应地与导电端子3的第一接触部31相接触。第一固持部30变形所产生的弹性力使基板4可稳定地固持在插槽21中,同时也保证导电端子3与电路板5之间的稳定接触。
图8所示为本发明电连接器的第二实施例,其中导电端子3相对于第一实施例是以上下颠倒的方式装入到端子孔23中。即导电端子3的第一接触部31用于连接电路板5,而第二连接部32用于连接基板4。当插入基板4时,基板4于第二接触部32上滑动,第一固持部30发生变形并促使第一接触部31于电路板5的导电片51上发生轻微滑移。最终依靠第一固持部30变形所产生的弹性力使得基板4稳定地固持在插槽21中,同时也保证导电端子3与电路板5之间的稳定接触。
以上描述的第一及第二实施例中导电端子3均是通过弹性力的作用而压接在电路板5上。另外参照图9及图10,其为本创作的第三实施例,其结构与第一实施例基本相同,而其中的导电端子3是通过焊料7而焊接到电路板5上。
通过以上对本发明的描述可以看出,本发明的导电端子3以阵列的方式排列组装在绝缘本体2中,既适用于高数目导电端子3的排列,同时又不会增加绝缘本体2的长度,从而降低绝缘本体2的成型难度,并保证了绝缘本体2的强度,同时可保证电性连接的稳定性。
本发明的电连接器可连接柔性扁平的线缆,也可以连接硬质材料的电路基板。

Claims (8)

1.一种电连接器,用于连接一个基板,其包括绝缘本体及组装在绝缘本体中的若干导电端子,绝缘本体设有供基板插入的插槽以及形成于插槽周围的顶壁、底壁及左右两侧壁,所述插槽是由绝缘本体的前端面向后开设形成的,导电端子组装在底壁上并具有伸入到插槽中的第一接触部以及和一个电路板接触的第二接触部,其特征在于:底壁上设有若干倾斜延伸且呈矩阵排列的端子孔,导电端子分别装入到端子孔中,所述端子孔与所述插槽相连通,导电端子在底壁上呈矩阵排列,在基板的插入方向上至少具有两排导电端子。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述导电端子包括一对固持部,其中至少一个固持部可当基板与导电端子接触时发生变形。
3.如权利要求2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述第一接触部与第二接触部中的一个将所述一对固持部相连,另一个由其中一个固持部朝向另一个固持部延伸。
4.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述底壁的底部设有若干沿基板插入方向延伸并平行排列的凹槽,所述端子孔与凹槽相连通。
5.如权利要求4所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述导电端子的第一接触部和第二接触部中至少一个设有分叉结构。
6.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述绝缘本体通过位于角落的锁固件固定至一个电路板上。
7.如权利要求6所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述导电端子通过表面压接的方式和电路板相连接。
8.如权利要求1至7中任意一项所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述顶壁与底壁相平行,基板为水平插入到所述插槽中。
