Abstract

发明领域
本发明涉及适用于制造接触透镜的模具。具体地,本发明的模具制造具有圆形边缘的透镜。
发明背景
用于制造接触透镜的方法和模具是众所周知的。例如,在本文全文引入作为参考的美国专利No.5,540,410中,公开了模具及其制造接触透镜的用途。用于生产具有圆形边缘的透镜的透镜模具已为人所知。这种圆形边缘设计是希望的,因为避免了透镜边缘对透镜佩戴者的眼球结膜的碰撞。然而,已知的透镜模具的缺点在于它难于充分控制边缘的高度。而且在已知的模具中生产具有圆形边缘的透镜会阻止多余单体从模具中流出。这样不仅生产出单体会围聚在模具中形成的透镜周围,而且二次固化的单体会在多处呈现,难以去除。

本发明的详细说明和优选实施方案
本发明提供一种用于生产接触透镜的模具,制造该模具的方法以及用该模具制造的具有圆形边缘的透镜。本发明的模具在其中一个半模上设有呈突出部(tab)形状的对中和间隔部件,所述部件既将两个半模互相对中又允许多余单体从模具中自由流出。而且,间隔部件有助于一个半模相对于另一个半模的高度控制。
在一个实施方案中,本发明提供了一种用于生产接触透镜的模具,该模具包括前半模和后半模,或主要由前半模和后半模组成,或仅由前半模和后半模组成。其中,前半模包括、主要包括或仅包括第一组件,该第一组件具有中心弯曲部分,所述中心弯曲部分具有凹表面、凸表面、和围绕该中心弯曲部分凹表面的第一圆形周向边缘,该凹表面的中心部分适合使接触透镜的前弯曲部具有曲率;第一组件还具有凹表面的对称轴线以及与圆形边缘相连的内表面、从内表面向上延伸且向外成锥形的壁、和环状凸缘,该内表面在凹表面轴线以下约5-约15度的平面内从圆形边缘向下延伸,所述环状凸缘与向外成锥形的壁为一整体并环绕该壁,且在正交于凹表面轴线的平面内从凹表面和凸表面径向向外延伸;后半模包括、主要包括或仅包括具有中心弯曲部分的第二组件,该中心弯曲部分具有凹表面、凸表面和围绕该中心弯曲部分的凸表面的第二圆形周向边缘,该凸表面的中心部分适合使接触透镜的后弯曲部具有曲率;以及,第二组件还具有相对于凸表面的对称轴线,在凸表面上多个间隔开的突出部和环状凸缘,每个突出部包括从凸表面周向边缘向外延伸的壁和向上延伸的壁,该向上延伸的壁最下部与向外延伸的壁相连且从所述向外延伸的壁向上延伸,并且该向上延伸的壁最上部与凸表面相连,该环状凸缘与凹、凸表面为一整体并环绕凹、凸表面,且在正交于凸表面轴线的平面内从凹、凸表面径向向外延伸。
参照附图,在图1和2中,分别展示了本发明模具的分解侧视图和侧视图。该模具由两个互补的半模构成:前半模102和后半模103。如图1所示,在半模103的凸表面上的间隔开的位置上设有突出部116。必须有足够量的突出部,以实现对所需的半模的对中和高度控制。优选地,在后半模103上设有至少三个突出部。不过,也可以有约36个突出部。本发明的模具能够使可聚合成分通过聚合反应来生产接触透镜。用本发明的模具生产出来的接触透镜是未经水合(unhydrated)的透镜,所述未经水合的透镜可以通过用本领域已知的任何水合或溶胀方法进行处理以备戴用。
前半模102和后半模103可以由任何适宜的热塑性聚合物制成,优选为足以使紫外线穿透从而允许透过的射线促进接触透镜材料(尤其是柔软接触透镜材料)进行聚合的热塑性聚合物。此外,希望所使用的材料能在相对较低的温度下模塑出具有光学性能的表面,呈现出极好的流动特性,并在模制期间保持无定形。用于形成本发明两个半模的优选材料是聚烯烃,包括但不仅限于聚苯乙烯、聚丙烯以及它们的混合物。每个半模可以由相同或不同于另一个半模的材料制成。半模的生产可以由任何适宜的方法来完成,但优选如美国专利No.5,540,410中提出的方法。在本发明的模具中,更优选地,用于形成后半模103的材料比用于前半模102的材料更硬或压缩性更低。
图3示出了图2的模具I-I的横截面视图,该横截面贯穿多个突出部116中的一个。图3a示出了图3中模具的一部分的放大横截面视图。图3a中的点状线A表示表面109在没有突出部116的地方如何向上延伸至凸缘105。参照图3和3a,在前半模102中,凸表面105和凹表面104基本平行地间隔开,基本在同一平面的环状凸缘106在正交于或垂直于凹表面104的对称轴线的平面内从表面104和105径向向外延伸。类似地,后半模103具有间隔开的表面109和110、和基本在同一平面的环状凸缘105,环状凸缘105在正交于凸表面109的轴线的平面内从表面109和110径向向外延伸。前半模凹表面104具有要在该模具中浇注的未经溶胀的透镜的前弯曲部的尺寸并且足够光滑以使形成的接触透镜的表面具有合格的光学品质。
后半模103限定了具有光学性能凸表面109和基本平行的凹表面110的中心弯曲部分。凸表面109具有待浇注的透镜的未经溶胀后弯曲部的尺寸并且足够光滑以使形成的透镜表面具有合格的光学品质。前半模102的凸表面105和后半模103的凹表面110不需要具有适合形成光学性能表面的表面。
前半模102限定具有光学性能凹表面104的中心弯曲部分。凹表面104具有在其周围延伸的圆形周向的边界明确的边缘111。边缘111,和后半模的凸表面的周向边缘120一起为随后模制的接触透镜形成边界明确和均匀的塑性体半径分型线。边缘111通常具有约3-45微米或更小的曲率,优选约5-约30微米,限定所述边缘的表面之间形成75-90度的角度。与边缘111相连并从边缘111径向向外朝着向外成锥形的壁113延伸的是向下倾斜的内表面112。内表面112所在平面位于正交或垂直于凹表面104对称轴线的平面下方约5-约15度的位置。
每个突出部116包括向外延伸的壁114,该壁114从圆形边缘120径向向外延伸。壁114所在平面位于正交于凸表面109对称轴线的平面或上或下约5度的平面内。突出部116进一步包括向上延伸的壁115,该壁的最下部与壁114相连并从壁114向上延伸,该壁的最上部与凸表面109相连。每个突出部116优选构造为使内表面112和壁114之间所形成的间隙为约0.005-约0.025毫米,更优选约0.010-约0.017毫米。每个突出部116的高可为约0.3-约1毫米,宽约0.3-约1毫米,厚约0.3-约1毫米,厚度是相对于凸表面109为基准向外测量的。该突出部被成形为圆形以形成半径约0.1-约1mm,优选约0.15-约0.23mm的“鼻部”。透镜固化期间施加在后半模或前半模的压力确保前后半模之间的360度接触并使得倾斜或不平行度最小。
如图3a所示,壁115和前半模壁113相互配合以便于在前半模上沉积透镜材料之后设置后半模。在所有的实施方案中,前、后半模都设计成允许通过其的快速热传输,但又足够坚硬能够经受脱模期间分离两个半模的撬动力。本发明的模具可被用于制造接触透镜的任何方法。不过,优选使用美国专利No.5,540,410提出的制造方法。通常,在优选的方法中,一定量的可聚合成分,优选通过注射,被置于前半模102的凹表面110上。在凸表面109面对前半模102的凹表面110的情况下将后半模103放置到可聚合成分上。优选地,所用可聚合成分的体积大于腔101的容积。这样,将后半模103放置到前半模102上将导致过量的材料流入内表面112和壁114之间的空间。凸缘105和106之间的区域提供了用于多余透镜材料的附加空间。凸表面109的宽度优选不大于凹表面110以便于对中。
一旦半模103被置于前半模102上,优选使用约2-约5磅的力将两个半模压到一起。该力可以沿着图2箭头所示的线施加到凸缘105或106上。该力可以通过任何合适的方式来施加,包括但不限于使用气压、机械手段(如弹簧)或它们的组合。在一个实施方案中,使用了穿过凸缘设置的扁平状的沉积喷嘴或者使用部分配装到半模102或103中的锥形和扁平状组合的沉积喷嘴。在可聚合成分的聚合过程中始终维持力不变。
可聚合成分优选在紫外线辐射下进行聚合。随着聚合的完成,分别由前、后半模102和103形成的模具被拆装,并对浇注的透镜进行另外的加工处理。
Claims (2)
1.一种用于生产接触透镜的模具,该模具包括前半模和后半模,其中,前半模包括具有中心弯曲部分的第一组件,该中心弯曲部分具有凹表面、凸表面以及围绕该中心弯曲部分的凹表面形成的第一圆形周向边缘,该凹表面的中心部分适合使接触透镜的前弯曲部具有曲率;第一组件还具有该凹表面的对称轴线以及与圆形边缘相连的内表面、从内表面向上延伸且向外成锥形的壁、以及环状凸缘,该内表面在凹表面轴线下方5-15度的平面内从圆形边缘向下延伸,所述环状凸缘与向外成锥形的壁为一整体并环绕该壁,且在正交于凹表面轴线的平面内从凹表面和凸表面径向向外延伸;后半模包括具有中心弯曲部分的第二组件,该中心弯曲部分具有凹表面、凸表面和围绕该中心弯曲部分的凸表面的第二圆形周向边缘,该凸表面的中心部分适合使接触透镜的后弯曲部具有曲率;第二组件也具有凸表面的对称轴线、在凸表面上的多个间隔开的突出部、和环状凸缘,有足够量的突出部,以实现对所需的半模的对中和高度控制,每个突出部包括从凸表面的周向边缘向外延伸的壁和向上延伸的壁,该向上延伸的壁最下部与向外延伸的壁相连并从该向外延伸的壁向上延伸,该向上延伸的壁的最上部与凸表面相连,该环状凸缘与凹、凸表面为一整体且环绕凹、凸表面,并在正交于凸表面轴线的平面内从凹、凸表面径向向外延伸。
