Abstract

技术领域

背景技术
光学数据存储媒体(“光学媒体”)是其中以光学可读方式存储了数据的媒体。数据通过媒体的一层或多层中的光学变化而编码。光学媒体的格式包括只读格式,例如CD-DA(数字音频压缩盘)、CD-ROM(CD只读存储器)、DVD(数字通用盘或者数字视频盘)蓝光ROM媒体,写一次读多次(WORM)格式,例如CD-R(可记录CD)和DVD-R(可记录DVD),以及可重写格式,例如磁光(MO)盘、CD-RW(可重写CD)、DVD-RAM(DVD随机存取媒体)、DVD-RW或DVD+RW(可重写DVD)、PD(Panasonic的相变双盘)、蓝光RE和其他相变光盘。
光学媒体在其整个供应链上都易被盗窃。例如,光学媒体盘通常被放置在零售出租机构的货架上,从而易被盗窃。即使光学媒体盘被存储在例如包含电子物品监控(“EAS”)标签或标记的容器中,光学媒体也会容易地被从存储容器中移除。实际上,光学媒体甚至在到达销售终点之前也容易从装运纸箱或者个体容器中移除。
当前用于与光学媒体盗窃问题进行斗争的方法是使得媒体容器难以打开、在媒体容器中嵌入EAS或者RFID标签、在供应链上增加视频监控、或者简单地减少消费者对产品的无监督的访问。但是,这些方法中的每一个都遇到数种缺点,包括容易绕过以及成本。
除了光学媒体的盗窃问题,有时可能希望以其他方式防止对合法拥有的光学媒体内容的访问。例如,一个人可能想要分发光学媒体,但想将对其的访问延迟直到某个未来事件的发生(例如,支付)。
因此,对下述系统和方法的需要仍未得到满足:所述系统和方法用于防止对光学媒体内容的未授权的访问。
发明内容
用于防止对光学媒体内容的未授权的访问的系统和方法。在一个实施例中,一种方法包括:对光学媒体上的数据进行编码、利用处于第一相的光敏材料来处理光学媒体的基板表面,其中,所述光敏材料通过使得被编码数据在第一相期间不可读而防止对光学媒体的盗窃。所述方法还包括在光学媒体的销售点之前,利用具有预定波长的光源来激活光敏材料,其中,激活光敏材料使其从第一相改变至第二相,在此之后,经编码数据可读。
在这里公开了其他实施例并对其主张权利。

具体实施方式
本发明的一个方面是用光敏材料来处理光学媒体,这防止了光学媒体播放器读取存储在光学媒体上的数据的能力。在一个实施例中,这种光敏材料可以是任何下述材料:所述材料在暴露于一个或多个光波长时能够被激活以便以物理上可测量的方式发生改变。在另一个实施例中,光敏材料可以是在2003年7月8日公告的美国专利No.6,589,626中所公开的任何光可变化合物的任何实施例,该专利通过引用而被全部合并于此(在下文中称为“‘626专利”)。
本发明的另一个方面是利用特定光波长(或者波长范围)来激活经处理的光学媒体,从而使得前述光敏材料能够改变其相,使得传统的光学媒体播放器能够随后读取媒体的经编码数据。虽然在一个实施例中,可以用光敏材料来处理整个光学媒体,但是在另一个实施例中,可以仅处理特定部分。根据一个实施例,一旦被激活,光敏材料就将永久保持在其新状态下。在一个实施例中,光源是汞光源,但是,可以类似地使用许多其他光源。
在一个实施例中,在传统的数据编码过程完成之后不久,用前述光敏材料来处理光学媒体。然后,光学媒体被放置在供应链中以递送到其销售终点。在供应链的特定点上,可以利用预定光波长来激活光学媒体。应该知道,预定光波长或者其范围将取决于所使用具体光敏材料,如‘626专利所公开的材料。虽然在一个实施例中,激活发生在销售终点,但是其可以类似地发生在沿着产品供应线的某个更早的点。在这种方式下,因为尚未被激活的光学媒体将是不可读的,所以防止了对其的盗窃。可能还希望将光学媒体(或者其包装)标记为不活跃的,以便增加防止盗窃的效果。
光学媒体的物理规范是本领域中已知的标准。所有对数据进行编码的媒体尺寸,包括那些关于凹坑(pit)和物理形式的尺寸,都在CD标准中限定。例如,关于采样频率、量化字长、数据率、纠错码和调制方案的规范信息都在该标准中限定。利用激光束从盘中读取数据的光学系统的属性也在该标准中限定。
参考现有技术图1A和图1B,其描述了典型的光学媒体表面的物理特性。在图1A中,光盘100的直径大约是120mm。盘的最里面部分是直径大约15mm的孔,可用于将光盘装载于旋转载片装置上,旋转载片装置耦合到主轴电动机的轴。
现在参考图1B,示出的是光盘100的表面的放大剖面。如图所示,盘基板110通常是塑料基板,它包括盘的整个厚度的大部分。直接在盘基板上沉积一般是铝、银或者金的薄金属层120。如图1B所示,数据以物理方式包含在沿着光盘表面所压印的金属化凹坑中。在该金属化凹坑表面120和盘基板110之上沉积的是保护性漆涂层130,其厚度通常在10和30微米之间。识别标记140(5微米)经常被粘在漆涂层的顶端。
继续参考图1B,激光束被用于从经编码的媒体表面读取数据。聚焦于金属化数据表面120的激光束被施加到盘的下侧,以使得其穿过透明的盘基板110并且又返回。当盘旋转时,激光束从盘的中心横移到边缘。然后,由光束的反射图案所生成的二进制码信号被转换为数字数据,例如音频和视频数据。媒体必须存在两种状态以使得它们之间的改变使所反射的光发生变化并从而可以识别数据。数据可以由所反射光的相变化、偏振态变化或者强度变化来表示。
现在参考图2,示出的是根据本发明一个实施例的光学媒体盘200的剖视图。在该实施例中,光盘200的由盘基板组成的下侧已被涂有光敏材料210。应该知道,根据本发明可以使用许多涂敷方法。例如,可以使用‘626专利中所公开的任何技术,例如通过将光敏材料放置在两个基板之间,将其以聚合膜的形式涂敷到盘200等等。
在一个实施例中,光敏材料210防止光学媒体盘200被传统的光学媒体播放器读取。也就是说,激光束反射图案被所涂敷的光敏材料210改变。但是,光敏材料210的性质是其物理属性中的一些可以通过暴露于特定光波长而被改变。也就是说,在一个实施例中,将光敏材料210暴露于某种类型的光将会使得光敏材料210的相改变,从而允许再次读取光盘200。在一个实施例中,激活光源是汞光源。
现在参考图3,示出的是用于实现本发明的一个或多个方面的过程的一个实施例。该过程假设数据已被记录到目标盘。过程300开始于框310,在框310,光敏材料(例如,材料210)被涂敷于盘基板。如前所述,应该知道,根据本发明可以使用许多涂敷方法。但是,在一个实施例中,盘面的大部分(或者全部)都涂有光敏材料。
此时,所涂敷的光敏材料已将盘置于错误状态(框320),使得其对于传统的光学媒体播放器而言不可读。在一个实施例中,该错误状态是使光学媒体播放器的激光不能精确地穿透覆盖盘面的光敏材料的结构。然后在框330,可以将盘封装以运送到最终用户。在一个实施例中,通过使盘在正确激活之前不可读,将会防止在沿着供应链的任何点上对盘的盗窃。
继续参考图3,过程300继续到框340,其中经处理的盘可以被激活。在一个实施例中,激活是通过将盘面(因此将光敏材料本身)暴露于特定光波长或者波长范围而完成的。在一个实施例中,盘可以在仍然位于容器中时被激活(即,暴露于激活光)。在光学媒体被存储和/或陈列在透明或半透明的塑料存储容器中的情形中,只要容器对于用于激活所装有的媒体的特定光波长而言至少是半透明的,激活过程就可以穿过容器本身而发生。
如前所述,本发明的光敏或者光可变材料可以是‘626专利中所公开的任何光敏或者光可变材料。例如,光敏材料可以是有机材料或无机材料;花青化合物(cyanine compound);可由光源激发的有机光可变材料,所述光源发出大约770nm至大约830nm之间或者大约630nm至大约650nm之间的波长的光;或者能够通过从一个或多个光波长吸收能量而发生从无定形状态到晶态的相变化的无机材料。在一个实施例中,如‘626专利中所公开的,无机相变光可变材料可以是GeSbTe、InSbTe、InSe、AsTeGe、TeOx-GeSn、TeSeSn、SbSeBi、BiSeGe和AgInSbTe类型的材料。
一旦被激活,光敏材料的相就可以改变至有效状态,从而允许传统的光学媒体播放器来读取经编码的数据(框350)。在一个实施例中,激活光源可以位于所述光学媒体的销售点。在另一个实施例中,可以以下述方式来标记光学媒体本身或者包含其的容器,所述方式表示该媒体在激活之前是不可读的。在这种方式下,在光学媒体实际被最终用户所购买之前,将会使其对于可能的盗贼而言无用。
虽然结合各种实施例描述了本发明,但是应当明白,本发明能够进行进一步的修改。本申请应当理解为覆盖了本发明的任何下述变化形式、用途或者应用形式,所述变化形式、用途或者应用形式总体上符合本发明的原理但与所公开的内容有在所涉及的技术范围的已知和习惯实践范围内的区别。
Claims (20)
1.一种防止盗窃的方法,包括:
在光学媒体上对数据进行编码;
利用处于第一相的光敏材料来处理所述光学媒体的基板表面,其中,所述光敏材料通过使得所述被编码数据在所述第一相期间不可读而防止对所述光学媒体的盗窃;
在所述光学媒体的销售点之前,利用具有预定波长的光源来激活所述光敏材料,其中,所述激活使得所述光敏材料从所述第一相改变至第二相,其中,所述经编码数据在所述光敏材料处于第二相时是可读的。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述光敏材料在所述激活之后永久保持在所述第二相。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述处理包括将所述光敏材料放置在所述基板表面内。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述处理包括将所述光敏材料插入膜中以覆盖所述基板表面的至少一部分。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述处理包括将所述光敏材料插入所述基板表面与第二基板之间。

12.一种光学媒体盘,其包括基板表面,所述基板表面具有被编码于其上的数据,所述基板表面被用处于第一状态的光敏材料来处理,其中,所述光敏材料通过使得所述被编码数据在所述第一光敏材料处于所述第一相期间不可读而防止对所述光学媒体盘的盗窃,并且其中,在所述光学媒体盘的销售点之前,当暴露于具有预定波长的光源时,所述光敏材料被从所述第一相改变至第二相,所述被编码数据在所述光敏材料处于所述第二相时将是可读的。
13.如权利要求12所述的光学媒体盘,其中,所述光敏材料在被暴露于所述光源之后永久保持在所述第二相。
14.如权利要求12所述的光学媒体盘,其中,所述光敏材料被放置在所述基板表面内。
