(d)光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料を含む層を第1の主要面の上に塗布するステップを備え、第1及び第2の平面の位置は、光学式読取装置及び選択的に光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料を考慮して予め選択され、製造された光媒体にある情報ランドを光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料が第1の光学状態または第2の光学状態にあろうとなかろうと、第2の主要面を通して光学式読取装置によって向けられる信号によって読みとられるようにされており、また光学式読取装置による読みは、光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料が前記光学状態の少なくとも一方にあるとき、情報ピット及び情報ランドの物理的構造に対して真である。第1の平面がピットの底から約2倍だけ第2の平面より遠いことが好ましい。一実施例において、第1の平面は、光学式読取装置がタンデム情報ピットと情報ランドの間の遷移によって光媒体に光学式読取装置によって向けられる信号から1/4波長だけ異なると判断されるとき、前記光媒体からのどの反射信号をも記録するような倍数だけピットの底から第2の平面より遠い。

Claims (9)
- 上に情報ピット及び情報ランドを有する第1の主要面及び比較的平らな第2の主要面を備え、前記情報ランドが第1の平面または第1の平面より第2の主要面に近い位置にある第2の平面のいずれかの中にあるように基板を成形するステップ、情報ピット及び情報ランドを覆うように第1の主要面の上に反射性材料を塗布するステップ
前記第1の平面内の前記情報ランドの上の反射性材料を除くステップ、
光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料を含む層を第1の主要面の上に塗布するステップを備え、
第1及び第2の平面の位置は、光学式読取装置及び選択的に光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料を考慮して予め選択され、製造された光媒体にある情報ランドを光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料が第1の光学状態または第2の光学状態にあろうとなかろうと、第2の主要面を通して光学式読取装置によって向けられる信号によって読みとられるようにされており、また光学式読取装置による読みは、光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料が前記光学状態の少なくとも一方にあるとき、情報ピット及び情報ランドの物理的構造に対して真であることを特徴とする光学式読取装置によって読取り可能な光媒体を製造する方法。 - 第1の平面がピットの底から約2倍だけ第2の平面より遠い請求項1の方法。
- 第1の平面は、光学式読取装置がタンデム情報ピットと情報ランドの間の遷移によって光媒体に光学式読取装置によって向けられる信号から1/4波長だけ異なると判断されるとき、前記光媒体からのどの反射信号をも記録するような倍数だけピットの底から第2の平面より遠い請求項1の方法。
- 情報ピット及び情報ランドが付いている第1の主要面及び比較的平らな第2の主要面を有するもので、第1の主要面上の情報ランドは、第1の平面または第2の平面にあり、第2の平面は、第1の平面より第2の主要面の近くにある基板、
第1の平面または第2の平面のいずれかで情報ピット及び情報ランドを覆うように第1の主要面と接触している反射材料層、及び
光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料を含んでいる反射材料層を覆う層を備え、
第1及び第2の平面の位置は、光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料がそれの第1の光学状態またはそれの第2の光学状態にあろうとなかろうと、前記情報ランドが第2の主要面を通して光学式読取装置によって向けられる信号によって読取られ、また光学式読取装置による読みは、光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料が前記光学状態の少なくとも一方にあるとき情報ピット及び情報ランドの物理的な構造に対して真であるようなものであることを特徴とする光学式読取装置によって読取り可能な光媒体。 - 第1の平面がピットの底から約2倍だけ第2の平面より遠い請求項4の光媒体。
- 第1の平面は、光学式読取装置がタンデム情報ピットと情報ランドの間の遷移によって光媒体に光学式読取装置によって向けられる信号から1/4波長だけ異なると判断されるとき、前記光媒体からのどの反射信号をも記録するような倍数だけピットの底から第2の平面より遠い請求項4の光媒体。
- 一連のビットを表わす光学データ構造を有する光媒体を認証する方法で、前記光学データ構造は情報ピット及び情報ランドを含み、情報ランドは、第1の平面または第2の平面のいずれかにあり、第2の平面は、第1の平面より第2の主要面の近くにあり、かつ光学的に可変なセキュリティ材料が入っている層を更に備え、前記方法は
(a)光媒体を一つのローカスでそのようなローカスにおいて光学データ構造によって表される一連のビットに対して真のデータを得るために読取るステップ
(b)得られたデータがそのようなローカスにある光学データ構造によって表された一連のデータ内の一つ以上のビットによって変化するかどうかを決定するために前記ローカスの前記光媒体を再読するステップ、及び
(c)ステップ(b)において得られたデータがステップ(a)において得られたデータと異なる場合、光記憶媒体を認証するステップ
を備える一連のビットを表わす光学データ構造を有する光媒体を認証する方法。 - 前記認証方法は、第1の平面がピットの底から第2の平面より約2倍遠い光媒体を利用する請求項7の認証方法。
- 前記認証方法は、タンデム情報ピットと情報ランドの間の遷移によって光媒体に光学式読取装置によって向けられる信号から1/4波長だけ異なると判断されるとき、光学式読取装置が光媒体から反射されたどの信号をも記録するようなファクターだけ前記第2の平面よりピットの底から遠い第1の平面を有するような光媒体を使用する請求項7の認証方法。
