Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及可用于字体(或印字,lettering)和自由型图案(free form design)的聚合物膜图形的制造方法,以及形成图形而无需从该聚合物膜裁切图形。
发明背景
这样的图形裁切方法是已知的,其中图像从粘附于压敏粘合剂复合材料的聚合物膜裁切,然后转移至期望的基材。这个技术被用于提供广泛的各种各样的图形应用,包括外部识别标记、字体和图案,以及在卡车、汽车、船舶等上的装饰或商业图形。通常用于这些图形应用的聚合物膜是压延或分散流延(dispersion cast)聚氯乙烯(PVC)单层膜。尽管PVC膜的使用在市场上已经获得成功,但这类膜通常生产昂贵,并且通常导致与字体或图案的裁切后丢弃的膜部分有关的薄膜废料。该切除步骤在本领域中有时被称为“除杂(weeding)”。除杂包括从剥离衬垫剥离不需要的薄膜部分,仅留下代表最终图像的所需部分粘附于剥离衬垫。
因此,期望提供一种消除了与宽卷材涂布(web coating)有关的废料膜的聚合物膜图形制造方法。还期望提供一种从表面应用中消除图形的后续裁切的聚合物膜图像形成方法。
发明概述
在一个实施方式中,本发明涉及聚合物膜图形的制造方法, 其包括:提供连续基材,其具有第一和第二表面,且在所述第一表面上具有第一剥离层;将图形文字或图案(graphic letter or design)形状的图像层应用于所述第一剥离层上;在所述图像层上沉积粘合剂层,所述粘合剂层具有与所述图像层图形文字或图案相同的形状;以及固化所述粘合剂层和图像层。所述聚合物膜图形可以被缠绕成卷。
在另一个实施方式中,本发明涉及聚合物膜图形的制造方法,其包括:提供连续基质,其具有第一表面和第二表面以及在所述第一表面上具有第一粘合剂层;在所述第一粘合剂层上印刷图形文字或图案形状的图像层;在所述图像层上沉积第二粘合层,所述第二粘合层具有与所述图像层图形文字或图案相同的形状;以及固化所述第二粘合层和图像层。
在进一步的实施方式中,本发明涉及聚合物膜图形,其包括具有上表面和下表面的基材;至少在所述基材上表面之上的剥离层;在所述剥离层之上的图形文字或图案形状的图像层;以及在所述图像层之上、具有与所述图像层图形文字或图案相同形状的粘合剂层。所述聚合物膜图形可以进一步包括在所述基材的下表面上的第二剥离层。

发明详述
本发明涉及图形文字和自由型图案,其从聚合物膜形成而无需裁切字体或图案。当提及一层或第一层相对于另一层或第二层的关系时,术语“在之上”及其同类术语,如“在之上的”和类似术语,是指第一层部分或完全覆盖在第二层之上这一事实。术语“在之下”及其同类术语,如“在之下的”和类似术语,具有相似的意思,只是第一层部分或完全位于第二层之下,而不是第二层之上。
当提及所述图形的一个或多个层时,术语“透明”指的是可以透过该层或这些层看见油墨层或印刷层(一层或多层)。
参考附图,图解说明本发明的图形文字和图案。图1是根据本发明制造的图形1的侧视图的示意性图解。图形1包括具有上表面12和下表面14的基材或铸片(casting sheet)10。在基材10的上表面12之上的是第一剥离层20。图形文字或图案形状的图像层30在基材10上的第一剥离层20之上。具有上表面45和下表面48的粘合剂层40在图像层30之上,并且其具有与图像层30的图形文字或图案相同的形状。
图像层在基质或铸片10上形成,所述基质或铸片10可以包括纸、聚合物膜或它们的组合。由于纸基材可应用的多种应用,纸基材是有用的。纸也相对低廉,且具有期望的性质,如防粘连、抗静电、尺寸稳定性,并且潜在地可被回收。任何类型的具有足够拉伸强度的、可在传统纸涂布和处理设备中处理的纸,均可被用作基材。因此,取决于最终用途和具体的个人偏好,任何类型的纸可以被使用。在可以被使用的纸的类型中包括在内的是白土涂布纸、玻璃纸、聚合物涂布纸、麻纸、以及以诸如苏打法、亚硫酸盐法或硫酸盐(牛皮纸)法,中性硫化物蒸煮法,氯碱法,硝酸法,半化学法等方法制备的类似纤维素材料。虽然任何重量的纸都可以被用作基材,但是重量在每令约30至约120磅的纸是有用的,并且重量范围在每令约60至约100磅的纸是目前优选的。如此处所使用,术语“令”等于3000平方英尺。
可选地,基材10也可以是聚合物膜,并且聚合物膜的例子包括聚烯烃、聚酯、PET等。聚烯烃膜可以包含每分子具有2至约12个碳原子的单烯烃的聚合物和共聚物,并且在一个实施方式中为每分 子2至约8个碳原子,以及在一个实施方式中为每分子2至约4个碳原子。这类均聚物的例子包括聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚1-丁烯等。上文定义中的共聚物的例子包括乙烯和按重量计约1%至约10%的乙烯或1-丁烯等的共聚物。由共聚物的掺合物或共聚物与均聚物的掺合物制备的膜也是有用的。膜可以以单层或多层被挤出。在一个实施方式中,基材10是聚丙烯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯酸酯或聚缩醛聚合物和共聚物、或它们的组合的自然剥离低表面能膜。这些膜的表面能将在约10达因/厘米至约30达因/厘米的范围内。
可以被用作基材10的另一类材料是多涂布牛皮纸衬垫,其基本上由牛皮纸衬垫组成,所述牛皮纸衬垫在任一面或两面用聚合物涂料涂布。所述聚合物涂料,其可以由高、中或低密度聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚酯和其它类似聚合物膜组成,被涂布在基材表面,以增加衬垫的强度和/或尺寸稳定性。这些类型的衬垫的重量范围是每令约30至约100磅,其中每令约94至约100磅代表典型的范围。总体来说,最终的衬垫由10%至40%的聚合物和60%至90%的纸组成。对于两面涂布,聚合物的量在纸的顶面和底面之间大致均分。
在一个实施方式中,在基材10的上表面12上的是剥离层20。剥离层20的组成可以是在本领域中已知的任何剥离涂层组成。硅氧烷剥离涂层组合物是优选的,并且在本领域中已知的任何硅氧烷剥离涂层组合物均可使用。硅氧烷剥离涂层的主要成分是聚硅氧烷,以及更通常是聚二甲基硅氧烷。所用的硅氧烷剥离涂层组合物可以被室温固化、热固化、或辐射固化。一般来说,室温和热可固化的组合物包括至少一种聚硅氧烷和至少一种用于这类聚硅氧烷(一种或多种)的催化剂(或固化剂)。这类组合物还可以包括至少一种固化加速剂和/或粘合性促进剂。如同本领域中已知的,一些材料具有发挥两种功能的能力,即,作为固化加速剂发挥作用以增加速率、降低固化温度等,并且还作为粘合性促进剂发挥作用以改善硅氧烷组分与基材的粘结的能力。在合适的情况下应用这类双功能添加剂在本发明的范围之内。
应用已知的技术,剥离涂层组合物被应用于基材10。这些技术包括,例如,凹版印刷、反转凹印、间接凹印、辊式涂布、涂刷法、辊衬刮刀辊涂、计量杆(metering rod)、逆转辊涂布、刮刀、浸渍、模压涂布(die coating)、喷雾帘式涂布(spraying curtain coating)、和其它类似技术。在一个实施方式中,所得到的剥离涂层的厚度或尺寸的范围是约0.254至约50.8mm,并且在一个实施方式中为约0.508mm至约1.27mm。
在一个实施方式中,基材10在上表面12上具有第一剥离层20,在下表面14上具有第二剥离层。滚压或叠加图形后,粘合剂层40的上表面45与第二剥离层相接触。
如图2所示,在一个实施方式中,当图形1被叠加或另外自卷时,本发明的聚合物图形1可以任选地包含载体50,其为剥离涂布衬垫,具有与粘合剂层40的否则暴露的上表面45相接触的一面(剥离涂布面)。载体50用于在制备、处理、储存、运输图形1的过程中保护粘合剂层40的上表面45。载体50在将图形1定位并粘附于表面之前被从图形1除去。剥离涂布衬垫50可包括用剥离组合物涂布的纸基片、聚合物膜或它们的组合。这类材料参考基材10进行描述。
图像层30以字母或自由型图案的形状形成,并应用于剥离层20上。在一个实施方式中,图像层30包含增塑溶胶或有机溶胶。术语增塑溶胶或有机溶胶一般是指细粒塑料粉末或颗粒在软化剂中的分散液,软化剂在加热至更高温度时硬化或胶凝。被应用于基材10的增塑溶胶制剂包括树脂、增塑剂,以及任选地包括活化剂/稳定剂、减粘剂、颜料和填料。塑料粉末或颗粒由细粒聚合物和共聚物组成,包括氯乙烯聚合物、聚氯乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯共聚物、丙烯酸酯聚合物和共聚物例如聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PMMA)和聚甲基丙烯酸烷基酯(PAMA);聚烯烃例如聚乙烯,包括高密度聚乙烯、低密度聚乙烯、线型低密度聚乙烯和线型超低密度聚乙烯,聚丙烯和聚丁烯;聚酯;聚碳酸酯;聚丙烯腈;丁二烯-苯乙烯聚合物;聚酰胺;乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物;处理的和未处理的聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯;聚苯乙烯;乙烯系共聚物;聚乙酸乙烯酯;烯烃共聚物,例如乙烯/甲基丙烯酸酯共聚物、乙烯/乙酸乙烯酯共聚物;丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯共聚物;乙烯/丙烯共聚物;丙烯酸聚合物和共聚物;聚氨酯;以及上述的组合。可以使用的氯乙烯聚合物是通过氯乙烯在另一种可共聚的乙烯系化合物存在或不存在的情况下聚合而获得的树脂性产物。术语“氯乙烯树脂”包括氯乙烯 均聚物以及共聚物,例如在氯乙烯和至少一种其它可共聚的乙烯基单体——例如乙酸乙烯酯、丙酸乙烯酯、丁酸乙烯酯、亚乙烯基二氯、苯乙烯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯等——之间形成的那些。在一个实施方式中,增塑溶胶包含PVC树脂。
用于制造聚氯乙烯增塑溶胶的增塑剂是本领域中熟知的并且是商业可得的。典型的增塑剂包括邻苯二甲酸二(2-乙基己基)酯、邻苯二甲酸二(2-乙基-4-甲基戊基)酯、邻苯二甲酸二辛酯、邻苯二甲酸二异癸酯、癸二酸二(2-乙基己基)酯、壬二酸二(2-乙基己基)酯、单体型环氧(2-乙基-己基环氧树脂酸酯)、三甘醇二辛酸酯、柠檬酸乙酰基三丁酯、2,2,4-三甲基戊烷-1,3-二醇二异丁酸酯、新戊二醇和己二酸的聚酯(M.W.=1,200-1,300)、环氧化豆油(分子量(M.W.)约1,000)、部分氢化三联苯和棕榈酸异辛酯的高沸点(约200℃以上)液体混合物、邻苯二甲酸二辛酯、含具有7至11个碳原子的醇部分的混合邻苯二甲酸酯、邻苯二甲酸二异壬酯、邻苯二甲酸二异辛酯、对苯二甲酸二辛酯、基于异构壬醇的混合邻苯二甲酸酯、含具有6至12个碳原子的醇部分的混合邻苯二甲酸酯、偏苯三酸三辛酯、邻苯二甲酸丁苄酯以及高分子型增塑剂例如用2,2,4-三甲基-1,3-戊二醇的单异丁酸酯封端的聚(2,2,4-三甲基-1,3-戊二醇己二酸酯)和以2-乙基己醇封端的聚(2,2-二甲基-1,3-丙二醇己二酸酯)等等。成本考虑因素以及该系统所需的粘度和粘合性影响具体的增塑剂选择。在较低的粘度是期望的而无需另外的增塑剂的情况下,如用于喷涂应用,少量的稀释剂(5-15%)如甲苯、二甲苯、甲基·异戊基酮、二异丁基甲酮、甲基·乙基酮等可被加入以形成喷涂型有机溶胶。
如果需要,可以使用上述示出的增塑剂的混合物。通常,增塑剂在增塑溶胶中以每百份氯乙烯树脂约20至约130份(pph)的量存在。通过适合的工艺,如成分的压延、混合或捏和,增塑剂可在含有或不含有其它添加剂的情况下被掺入单独的氯乙烯树脂中。理想的步骤包括形成乙烯基树脂分散液,其可以被浇铸成膜或较厚体,然后被加热形成增塑树脂均一体。这类分散液是氯乙烯树脂颗粒在非水液体中的悬浮液,所述非水液体包括增塑剂,其在常温下不溶解树脂,但在升高的温度下溶解。如果液相仅由增塑剂组成,则分散相经常被称 作“增塑溶胶”,而如果分散液还含有加热后蒸发的挥发性组分,则分散相通常被称作“有机溶胶”。在本发明中有用的增塑溶胶/有机溶胶聚合物的商业可得的例子包括由Polyone和Chemionics生产的那些聚合物。
在一个实施方式中,图像层30由聚合材料如聚乙烯、聚丙烯、丙烯酸、环氧化物、共聚物等形成。用于形成液体材料层30的有用的丙烯酸酯聚合物和共聚物包括C1-C12丙烯酸酯或甲基丙烯酸酯单体——诸如丙烯酸或甲基丙烯酸的甲酯、乙酯、丙酯、丁酯、己酯或辛酯——的聚丙烯酸酯和甲基丙烯酸酯均聚物或共聚物。可利用的聚合物的商业例子包括通过巴斯夫(BASF)的Acrylics、罗门哈斯(Rohm and Haas)的 和Lucidene的产品生产的那些。
可用于制备图像层30的环氧树脂包括环氧树脂和聚合环氧树脂。这些树脂在它们的骨架和取代基方面可以变化很大。在添加合适的光引发剂的情况下,通过自由基机理,本发明的环氧树脂在暴露于UV照射后可经历初步固化。环氧树脂层的最终固化通过加热环氧树脂而完成。一种特别有用的环氧层由双酚A二环氧甘油醚、环氧二丙烯酸酯和胺固化剂的混合物形成。825,一种可从壳牌化学公司(Shell Chemical Co.)商业得到的双酚A表氯醇环氧树脂(bisphenolA epichlorohydrin epoxy resin),是双酚A二环氧甘油醚的一个例子。在本发明中有用的环氧二丙烯酸酯是3700,一种可从UCBChemical Corp.商业得到的双酚A环氧二丙烯酸酯。
在一个实施方式中,图像层30由可以分散或溶解在溶剂或水中的聚合物形成,如本领域所知。这类聚合物包括但不限于聚碳酸酯、聚丙烯腈、丁二烯-苯乙烯聚合物、聚(甲基丙烯酸甲酯)、聚酰胺、乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物、处理的和未处理的聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯、聚苯乙烯、聚烯烃例如聚乙烯——包括高密度聚乙烯、低密度聚乙烯、线型低密度聚乙烯和线型超低密度聚乙烯,聚丙烯和聚丁烯;乙烯系共聚物和聚乙酸乙烯酯,烯烃共聚物例如乙烯/甲基丙烯酸酯共聚物、乙烯/乙酸乙烯酯共聚物、丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯共聚物和乙烯/丙烯共聚物;丙烯酸聚合物和共聚物;聚氨酯;和它们的混合物。
图像层30可以是带颜色的或是透明的。在一个实施方式中,图像层30是带颜色的。颜料可以是金属颜料、重金属基颜料、不含重金属的颜料或有机颜料。重金属在本文中被定义为铅、镉、铬或锑。可以使用的颜料包括二氧化钛,包括金红石型和锐钛型晶体结构两种。二氧化钛可以是涂布的或未涂布的(例如,氧化铝涂布的TiO2)。
在一个实施方式中,颜料以含有颜料和树脂载体的提浓物的形式被加入到图像层30。提浓物可以含有例如按重量计约20%至约80%的颜料和按重量计约20%至约80%的树脂载体。树脂载体可以是任何热塑性聚合物,所述热塑性聚合物在一个实施方式中具有约-70℃至约150℃的玻璃化转变温度,而在一个实施方式中具有从约100℃至约175℃的玻璃化转变温度。载体树脂包括聚烯烃、乙烯和丙烯的热塑性聚合物、聚酯、聚碳酸酯、苯乙烯衍生的聚合物、聚氨酯、聚丙烯酸、聚甲基丙烯酸、聚乙烯醇、聚酰胺、聚酰亚胺、聚砜、聚甲基戊烯、聚乙酰化合物(polyacetyl)、卤乙烯衍生的聚合物、聚(乙烯乙烯醇)(poly(ethylene vinyl alcohol))、醋酸乙烯酯衍生的聚合物、离子交联聚合物、以及它们的混合物。在一个实施方式中,二氧化钛提浓物被应用,其由按重量计约30%至约70%的聚丙烯和按重量计约70%至约30%的二氧化钛的掺合物组成。可被应用的商业可得的颜料提浓物的例子可从A.Schulman以商品名Polybatch White P8555SD获得,其被鉴定为在聚丙烯均聚物载体树脂中按重量计50%的白色提浓物。其它颜料提浓物的例子包括但不限于鉴定为红色颜料提浓物的Ampacet150380、鉴定为黑色颜料提浓物的Ampacet190303、鉴定为钼酸铅提浓物的Ampacet LR-87132Orange PE MB,所有这些都可以从Ampacet公司得到。可以使用的不含重金属的颜料提浓物包括AmpacetLR-86813Yellow UV PE MB、Ampacet LR-86810Red PE MB、AmpacetLR-86816Orange PE MB、和Ampacet LR-86789Red UV PE MB。在液体膜材料中的颜料浓度按重量计可达约25%,并且在一个实施方式中,为按重量计约5%至约25%,以及在一个实施方式中,为按重量计约10%至约20%。
在一个实施方式中,利用染料基油墨,赋予图像层30颜色。所用的油墨包括商业可得的水基油墨、溶剂型油墨或辐射固化油墨。这类油墨的例子包括Sun Sheet(Sun Chemical的产品,鉴定为醇可稀释的聚酰胺油墨)、Suntex MP(Sun Chemical的产品,鉴定为溶剂型油墨)、X-Cel(Water Ink Technologies的产品,鉴定为水性膜油墨)、UvilithAR-109Rubine Red(Daw Ink的产品,鉴定为UV油墨)和CLA91598F(Sun Chemical的产品,鉴定为multibond黑色溶剂型油墨)。
在一个实施方式中,图像层30由印刷油墨产生。适合的油墨包括可以从在堪萨斯州的堪萨斯市的Fujifilm Sericol USA,Inc.商业获得的Color+系列溶剂型油墨。通过使用数字格式印刷机(digitalformat printer)例如可从Hewitt Packard或Palo Alto,California得到的 印刷机,或者宽格式印刷机(wide format printer)例如可从日本的Mimaki Engineering Company以商品名Mimaki得到的那些,油墨可以被应用。
在一个实施方式中,颜料被加入到粘合剂层40。当加入颜料时,粘合剂层40可含有一种或多种上述颜料。压敏粘合剂层40可以是任何本领域中已知的压敏粘合剂。这些包括橡胶基粘合剂、丙烯酸粘合剂、乙烯醚粘合剂、有机硅粘合剂和它们的两种或更多种的混合物。包括在内的是描述在″Adhesion and Bonding,″Encyclopedia ofPolymer Science and Engineering,Vol.1,第476-546页,IntersciencePublishers 2nd Ed.1985中的压敏粘合剂材料,其公开内容通过引用由此并入。有用的压敏粘合剂材料可含有作为主要成分的粘性聚合物,例如丙烯酸型聚合物、嵌段共聚物、天然的、可再生的、或苯乙烯-丁二烯橡胶、粘性的或合成的橡胶、乙烯和乙酸乙烯酯的无规共聚物、乙烯-乙烯基-丙烯酸三元共聚物、聚异丁烯、聚乙烯醚等。压敏粘合剂材料的特征通常在于具有约-70℃至约10℃的玻璃化转变温度。
除前述树脂之外,其它材料可以被包括在压敏粘合剂层40之内。这些包括固体粘性树脂、液体增粘剂(通常称为增塑剂)、抗氧化剂、填料、颜料、蜡等。粘合剂材料可以包含固体粘性树脂和液体粘性树脂(或液体增塑剂)的掺合物。
压敏粘合剂的层40通常具有约0.508至约6.35mm的厚度,并且在一个实施方式中为约1.27至约3.81mm。在一个实施方式中,压敏粘合剂的涂布重量在每平方米约10至约50克(gsm)的范围内,并 且在一个实施方式中为约20至约35gsm。
图像层30也可包括通常掺入乙烯基树脂中的除增塑剂外的添加剂。通常,这类组合物包括一种或多种稳定剂,以赋予对热降解的抗性。无机填料——或纤维填料或非纤维填料——均可以在需要的时候使用。另外,其它添加剂,例如溶剂、稀释剂、粘合剂等也可以使用。图像层30也可以包含其它材料,例如抗氧化剂、抗光剂(或光稳定剂)如(UV)光吸收剂和/或其它抗光剂、粘度改进剂、防粘连剂和/或增滑剂、增强剂、加工助剂、矿物油、以及类似物。在一个实施方式中,除了通常存在于PVC增塑溶胶制剂中的那些稳定剂之外的稳定剂可以被包括在内。这类稳定剂的例子包括紫外光稳定剂,其包括受阻胺光稳定剂。受阻胺光稳定剂可以是例如2,2,6,6-四烷基哌啶或取代的哌嗪二酮(piperizinediones)的衍生物。许多在本发明中可以使用的受阻胺光稳定剂是可以从商业渠道获得的,例如从汽巴-嘉基公司(Ciba-Geigy Corporation)以通用商品名“Tinuvin”和“Chemissorb”获得,以及从Cytec以通用商品名“Cyasorb-UV”获得。例子包括Tinuvin783,其被鉴定为聚[[60[1,1,3,3-四甲基丁基)氨基]-1,3,5-三嗪-2,4-二基][[2,2,6,6-四甲基-4-哌啶基)亚氨基]六亚甲基[2,2,6,6-四甲基-4-哌啶基亚氨基]]和丁二酸二甲酯聚合物与4-羟基-2,2,6,6-四甲基-1-哌啶乙醇的混合物;Tinuvin 770,其被鉴定为双-(2,2,6,6-四甲基-4-哌啶基)-癸二酸酯;Tinuvin 765,其被鉴定为双-(1,2,2,6,6-五甲基-4-哌啶基)-癸二酸酯;Tinuvin 622,其是丁二酸和N-β-羟乙基-2,2,6,6-四甲基-4-羟基-哌啶的聚酯;以及Chemissorb 944,其是聚[6-(1,1,3,3-四甲基丁基)氨基]-s-三嗪-2,4-二基[[2,2,6,6-四甲基-4-哌啶基)亚氨基]六亚甲基(2,2,6,6-四甲基-4-哌啶基)亚氨基]。有用的稳定剂可以以商品名Ampacet 10561获得,其是Ampacet公司的的产品,被鉴定为UV稳定剂提浓物,含有按重量计20%的UV稳定剂和按重量计80%的低密度聚乙烯载体树脂;该产品中的UV稳定剂是Chemissorb 944。有用的光稳定剂也被提供在Ampacet 150380和Ampacet 190303中,这两种都是上文讨论的颜料提浓物。Ampacet 150380具有按重量计7.5%的UV稳定剂浓度。Ampacet190303具有按重量计4%的UV稳定剂浓度。这些产品的每一种中的UV稳定剂都是Chemissorb 944。Ampacet LR-89933是按重量计UV稳 定剂浓度为4.5%的灰色提浓物,其中UV稳定剂是Tinuvin 783。热稳定剂包括环氧化物,例如Thermcheck 909,以及钡/锌热稳定剂,例如Crompton Industries的Mark 121。
图像层30可以包含防粘连添加剂和/或增滑添加剂。防粘连添加剂包括天然硅石、硅藻土、合成硅石、玻璃球、陶瓷颗粒等。增滑添加剂包括伯胺,例如硬脂酰胺、山嵛酸酰胺、油酰胺、芥酸酰胺等;仲胺,例如硬脂基芥酸酰胺、瓢儿菜基芥酸酰胺、油基棕榈酰胺、硬脂基硬脂酰胺、瓢儿菜基硬脂酰胺等;亚乙基双酰胺,例如N,N′-亚乙基双硬脂酰胺、N,N′-亚乙基双油酰胺等;以及上述酰胺的任意两种或多种的组合。有用的增滑添加剂的例子可从Ampacet以商品名10061获得;该产品被鉴定为一种含有按重量计6%的硬脂酰胺增滑添加剂的提浓物。防粘连和增滑添加剂可以树脂提浓物的形式一起被添加。这样的提浓物的例子可以从DuPont以商品名Elvax CE9619-1获得。这种树脂提浓物含有按重量计20%的二氧化硅、按重量计7%的酰胺类增滑添加剂、以及按重量计73%的Elvax 3170(DuPont的产品,其被鉴定为乙酸乙烯酯含量按重量计18%的乙烯/乙酸乙烯酯共聚物)。防粘连添加剂可以在按重量计可达约1%的浓度范围内使用,在一个实施方式中为按重量计约0.01%至约0.5%。增滑添加剂可以在按重量计可达约1%的浓度范围使用,在一个实施方式中为按重量计约0.01%至约0.5%。
参照图4,在横截面中描绘了向基材10输送用于产生图像层30的材料的方法的一个实施方式。分配头50a、50b、50c附着于分配头滑轨60上。在一个实施方式中,分配头50a、50b、50c由计算机(未示出)数字化驱动,以按期望以字母或图案的形式分配层30。在一个实施方式中,基材10经过分配头50a、50b、50c的运动是由计算机(未示出)数字驱动的。图像层30的材料被分配在具有剥离层20的基材10上。在一个实施方式中,图像层30的材料通过喷雾加以分配。在一个实施方式中,图像层30的材料通过粉末涂布加以分配。所分配的层的厚度取决于意图的应用,并且在一个实施方式中,厚度为约0.00254mm至约38.1,以及在一个实施方式中,厚度为约2.54mm至约12.7mm。所分配的膜30的厚度由涂布辊的速度以及分配头50a、50b、50c和涂布辊之间的距离和施用于喷嘴的压力来控制。
本发明方法的一个实施方式的图示在图5中示出,其中涂布辊运送涂布有剥离层20的基材10。基材10继续通过在分配头滑轨60上、布置于基材10上方的分配头50a、50b、50c,并分配材料,以在基材10上形成期望字母或图案形式的图像层30。在一个实施方式中,基材10连续通过第二组分配头(未示出),由此,粘合剂层40被分配在图像层30上,以便与粘合剂层40图形一致。然后,具有分配的图像层30和粘合剂层40的基材10被热固化或辐射固化。在一个实施方式中,在图像层30涂布于基材10上之后,基材10然后在粘合剂层40的涂布之前进行固化。
在一个实施方式中,如图3所示,基材10的上表面12涂布有形状为所需字母或图案的粘合剂层40。用于生成图像层30的材料然后被分配在粘合剂层40之上,以便符合粘合剂层40的字母或图案并与之具有相同的形状。
通过使经过涂布的基材通过被设计来为层30、40提供充足的停留时间以完全固化层30、40的设备,图像层30和粘合剂层40的固化可以以连续的方式实现。固化可以在大气压下或接近大气压下实现,在一个实施方式中,在惰性气氛例如氮气或氩气下进行。固化层30、40所需的暴露时长随着诸如所用的具体制剂、辐射的类型和波长、剂量率、气氛、能通量、光引发剂(当需要时)的浓度、以及层30、40的厚度之类的因素而变化。通常,暴露十分短暂,并且固化在约1分钟以下完成。对于各种涂层而言获得适当的固化所需的实际暴露时间可以由本领域普通技术人员通过最少的试验容易地确定。如果使用热固化,炉温范围为从约110℃至约216℃。
在图6和图7所示的一个实施方式中,产生图形的方法包括在粘合剂层60之上或层压到粘合剂层60上,印刷具有期望形状的油墨层或图案30,所述粘合剂层60粘附于纸或高分子基材10。通过覆盖或产生油墨膜30,例如通过使用数字打印机64,印刷得以完成。允许油墨有时间固化,例如通过紫外线能量的应用,和/或在向所述油墨表面涂布第二粘合层62之前允许溶剂蒸发。如图7所示,通过层压辊,剥离衬垫可被应用于第二粘合剂层62。
图像层30可以以反转图像格式制成,特别是如果使用了清澈或透明的基材10更是如此。可选地,印刷或制成图像,使得图像在正常的视野结构下是可见的,这取决于产品的设计和编排。一旦用于形成图像层的材料退出打印机,则将涂布于或层压于粘合剂层。
透明的油墨或在固化后变透明的油墨可以被涂布在图像层上或作为图像层的一部分,这可消除在图像层的顶部添加透明保护膜层的需要。可选地,透明的油墨层可以被用于补充保护层,例如通过形成屏蔽或遮蔽。
尽管已经就其优选的实施方式对本发明进行了说明,应当理解,在阅读本说明书后,对于本领域技术人员而言,各种修改将变得明显。因此,应该理解,本文所公开的发明意欲覆盖落入所附权利要求书的范围之内的这类修改。
Claims (9)
1.聚合物膜图形的制造方法,其包括:
提供连续基材,其具有第一和第二表面,并且在所述第一表面上具有第一剥离层;
将具有图形文字或图案的形状的图像层施加于所述第一剥离层,所述图像层包括有机溶胶或增塑溶胶;
沉积粘合剂层于所述图像层上,所述粘合剂层具有与所述图像层的图形文字或图案相同的形状;和
固化所述粘合剂层和图像层,其中固化的所述图像层具有2.54mm至12.7mm的厚度。
2.权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述连续基材包括纸、聚合物膜或它们的组合。
3.权利要求1或2所述的方法,其中所述连续基材在所述第二表面上具有第二剥离层。
4.权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述粘合剂包括压敏粘合剂。
5.权利要求4所述的方法,其中所述粘合剂包括丙烯酸粘合剂。
6.权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述图像层包含聚氯乙烯树脂和增塑剂。
7.权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述粘合剂层和图像层在110℃至216℃范围内的温度下固化1分钟以下的时间。
8.权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述图像层通过将所述有机溶胶或增塑溶胶印刷在所述粘合剂层上而被施加。
9.权利要求8所述的方法,其中所述连续基材包含透明聚合物膜。
