卷烟在抽吸过程中产生主流烟气和在静态燃烧过程中产生侧流烟气。主流烟气和侧流烟气二者的成分为一氧化碳(CO)和氧化氮(NO)。降低烟气中一氧化碳和/或氧化氮是所需的。
发明概述
公开了能降低主流烟气内一氧化碳和/或氮氧化物的含包封的催化剂颗粒的卷烟和卷烟组分(例如烟丝和卷烟纸),其中包封的催化剂颗粒包括至少部分用挥发性包封剂涂布的催化剂颗粒。优选地,催化剂颗粒充分地用挥发性包封剂涂布。

优选实施方案的详细说明
公开了在其内掺入包封的催化剂颗粒的卷烟组分、卷烟和抽烟方法。包封的催化剂颗粒包括一种或更多种催化剂颗粒的芯和在芯周围形成的挥发性的包封层(即涂层)。挥发性包封层可以是在近环境温度下(例如,在卷烟储存过程中和在点火的卷烟内的燃烧/热解区下游),用于催化剂颗粒的保护层,但暴露于升高的温度、卷烟烟气的湿气或气相成分下时,挥发性材料可挥发(例如热或化学降解),结果暴露底下的催化剂颗粒。

在共同拥有的美国专利公布Nos.2004/0131859、2004/0040566和2004/0110633中公开了将催化剂颗粒掺入到卷烟的一个或更多个组件内,其内容在此通过参考引入。可将催化剂颗粒掺入到卷烟内,以便降低主流烟气和/或侧流烟气内一种或更多种气相成分(例如CO或NO)的浓度。然而,在抽吸含催化剂颗粒的卷烟过程中,可在催化剂颗粒上形成半挥发性或不挥发性的燃烧产物,例如焦油。半挥发性和不挥发性沉积物的早期沉积可(例如通过在催化剂颗粒和气相成分之间形成阻挡层和/或通过与催化剂颗粒的化学相互作用)有效地使催化剂颗粒失活。例如,半挥发性或不挥发性材料层可有效地使在主流烟气内发现的气相成分不透过。此外,在升高的温度下,半挥发性或不挥发性材料可与催化剂颗粒反应并减少其催化活性。

在含包封的催化剂颗粒的卷烟中,当包封的催化剂颗粒暴露于比涂层的挥发温度低的温度下时,挥发性涂层形成半挥发性和不挥发性材料(例如焦油)可在其上沉积的保护层。当温度达到或超过包封剂的挥发温度时,可除去挥发性涂层以及在其上形成的任何材料,结果暴露催化剂颗粒的活性表面。因此,可在抽吸条件下(即在燃烧区之前)暴露催化剂颗粒的活性表面,以催化和/或氧化主流和/或侧流烟气内的气体成分。申请人预料不到地发现,掺入到卷烟内的包封的催化剂颗粒在抽烟过程中比没有被包封的催化剂颗粒具有高的催化效率。
在一个实施方案中,卷烟包括包封的催化剂颗粒,其中在抽烟过程中,挥发性包封剂在烧焦线(charline)之前约0.1mm-约10mm,优选约0.5mm-约2mm的距离处挥发。此处所使用的“烧焦线”是指在抽烟过程中产生的卷烟的燃烧区边缘处,在卷烟外包纸内生成的线。

包封剂可包括蜡。优选的蜡包括熔融温度为约40℃-约350℃的可热熔材料。例举的蜡包括蜂蜡、椰油蜡、小烛树蜡、巴西棕榈蜡、褐煤蜡、小冠巴西棕蜡、石蜡、米蜡或其混合物。
包封剂可包括水溶性聚合物。例举的水溶性聚合物包括聚乙烯醇、聚乙烯吡咯烷酮、聚环氧乙烷、水溶性聚酰胺、水溶性聚酯、水溶性纤维素、丙烯酸聚合物或其混合物。天然和改性的水溶性聚合物包括淀粉、糊精、树胶、明胶、果胶、藻酸盐、阿拉伯胶或其混合物。
优选的包封剂是藻酸盐。藻酸盐是长链的碳水十五聚合物藻酸的盐,且包括藻酸钠、藻酸钙、藻酸钾和丙二醇藻酸盐。尽管藻酸盐不溶于水,但该盐是水状胶体(即,它们结合或吸收水)且可形成为涂层。
藻酸盐通常酸稳定且耐热。调节引起交联的钙离子的浓度将控制凝胶强度。结合藻酸盐与树胶,例如果胶可增加粘度。
藻酸盐可分散在环境温度的水内,但溶解度典型地不如当水温降低时的情况。可使用高剪切混合,分散在2wt%以上的藻酸盐浓度,以消除团块。高速混合器结合高流速和高剪切将增加混合效率。形成含藻酸钙涂层的包封的催化剂颗粒的优选方法如下所述。
包封剂可包括水不溶性聚合物。例举的水不溶性聚合物包括聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚丙烯酸酯、聚甲基丙烯酸酯、聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯、聚氯乙烯、聚偏氯乙烯、多糖或其混合物。
包封剂可包括带香料的化合物。优选的香料化合物包括薄荷醇、薄荷醇衍生物和薄荷醇前体。其他合适的香料化合物包括合成与天然香料、精油、醇、醛、酯、醚、酮、酚及其混合物。香料化合物可以是芳族化合物或非芳族化合物。
可用一层或更多层相同或不同的挥发性包封剂涂布催化剂颗粒。例如,可使用多步涂布步骤,实现所需包封剂的所需厚度和/或覆盖率。在进一步的实例中,可用第一挥发性涂层,然后用第二挥发性涂层涂布催化剂颗粒。在优选的实施方案中,第一挥发性涂层包括带香料的化合物。
可使用各种方法形成包封的催化剂颗粒。合适的方法包括提供催化剂颗粒和在该催化剂颗粒上形成至少一层挥发性包封层。该方法包括气相技术和液相技术。
在例举的气相技术中,可混合催化剂颗粒与液相包封剂(例如挥发性化合物的溶液或纯液体),形成混合物。在混合过程中,可控制温度和搅拌程度。例如,可在室温下混合催化剂颗粒和包封剂的溶液,并超声处理,形成均匀的混合物。
可干燥催化剂颗粒-包封剂混合物,形成包封的催化剂颗粒。根据优选的方法,可吸入该混合物,形成含用包封剂涂布的催化剂颗粒的气溶胶。可控制气溶胶化温度和分散速度,形成固相包封的催化剂颗粒(即,其中包封剂层干燥,在催化剂颗粒上形成固体涂层)。
作为实例,可通过首先在恒定搅拌下,在约30ml去离子水内混合氧化铁颗粒(~1g)与阿拉伯胶(~1g),形成氧化铁颗粒的均匀悬浮液,从而制备含50wt%用阿拉伯胶涂布的氧化铁颗粒的包封催化剂颗粒。使用0.5mm的喷嘴,在约170℃下气溶胶化该悬浮液,于是在混合物内存在的水蒸发并形成阿拉伯胶涂布的氧化铁颗粒。取决于加工条件,包封的催化剂颗粒可以是粉末、颗粒或聚集体形式。包封的催化剂颗粒可以是球形、椭球形、线料、微丝和类似形状。
在例举的液相技术中,催化剂颗粒可浸渍在液相包封剂或包封剂前体(例如挥发性化合物的溶液或纯液体)内,形成混合物,其中在催化剂颗粒上形成涂层。可控制浸渍过程中的温度,并可任选地搅动(例如搅拌)混合物。可在室温下催化剂颗粒和包封剂,形成涂层。在浸渍之后,可干燥涂布的催化剂颗粒并任选地进一步加工,形成包封的催化剂颗粒。进一步的加工可包括例如借助离子交换反应,交联包封的聚合物。
形成藻酸盐包封的催化剂颗粒的方法包括在藻酸盐溶液内浸渍催化剂颗粒,形成涂布的催化剂颗粒,然后处理该涂布的催化剂颗粒,形成交联的聚合的藻酸盐涂层。
作为实例,可通过在恒定搅拌下,首先混合氧化铁颗粒(~1g)与藻酸钠溶液(在100ml去离子水内1g藻酸钠),形成藻酸钠涂布的氧化铁颗粒,从而制备含50wt%用藻酸钙和/或钠涂布的NANOCAT氧化铁颗粒的包封催化剂颗粒。优选均化该混合物(例如30-130分钟),允许在空气中静置(例如10-60分钟),然后再均化(例如30-130秒)。
可借助离子交换反应,将藻酸钠涂层至少部分和优选充分地转化(例如聚合)成藻酸钙涂层。优选使已知体积的藻酸钠涂布的氧化铁颗粒与含多价阳离子的溶液接触。该溶液可包括含水或非水(例如醇)溶液。在优选的方法中,该溶液包括氯化钙(例如0.1M氯化钙的水溶液),其中Ca2+借助离子交换反应交换Na+,在氧化铁颗粒周围形成交联的挥发性藻酸钙。适合于形成交联的包封层的其他多价阳离子溶液可包括铝、锰、铁、铜、锌、锶、银和钡。可通过改变交联程度来控制交联的聚合物包封剂的硬度。交联量与包封剂和多价阳离子溶液之间的反应时间(即固化时间)成正比。可借助离子交换交联的其他聚合物包括多糖。
在优选的方法中,将已知体积的藻酸钠涂布的氧化铁颗粒逐滴(例如通过注射器,例如26.5规格的针)分散在氯化钙溶液内。可控制分散的高度和速度,以控制包封的颗粒的大小。可在预定的固化时间(例如最多约2小时)之后,除去(例如过滤或滗析)过量的氯化钙溶液并干燥。可制备含至少约10、20、30、40、50、60、70、80或90±5wt%催化剂颗粒(例如氧化铁颗粒)的包封催化剂颗粒。
图1示出了氧化铁/藻酸钙样品的光学显微照片。图1(a)示出了原样接收的氧化铁颗粒的光学显微照片。图1(b)示出了不规则和球形颗粒形式的藻酸钙包封的氧化铁颗粒的光学显微照片。图1(c)示出了微丝形式的藻酸钙包封的氧化铁颗粒的光学显微照片。
形成包封的催化剂颗粒的额外方法包括聚合物-聚合物不相容(其中借助在共同溶剂内溶解的不相容聚合物溶液中,优先吸收一种聚合物,从而涂布催化剂颗粒);流化床包封和气相聚合。
包封的微米尺寸的催化剂颗粒的平均粒度可以小于或等于约1微米到大于或等于约1000微米。包封的催化剂颗粒的平均粒度可以是10、20、30、40、50、60、70、80或90微米±5微米一直到约100、200、300、400、500、600、700、800或900微米±50微米。包封的催化剂颗粒可包括单独的颗粒或涂布的催化剂颗粒的聚集体。优选的包封的催化剂颗粒的平均粒度可以小于1微米。可包封亚微米和纳米级的催化剂颗粒,形成平均粒度为10、20、30、40、50、60、70、80或90纳米±5纳米一直到约100、200、300、400、500、600、700、800或900纳米±50纳米的包封的催化剂颗粒,这取决于包封剂的平均厚度。
根据优选的方法,包封的催化剂颗粒可掺入到形成卷烟可所使用的烟丝、卷烟纸和卷烟滤嘴中的至少之一内。通过掺入催化剂颗粒到卷烟中的一种或更多种组件内,可降低抽烟过程中主流烟气内的一氧化碳和/或氮氧化物的含量。
优选地,将包封的催化剂颗粒掺入到烟丝、卷烟纸和/或卷烟滤嘴内,其用量将有效地降低主流烟气内一氧化碳和/或氮氧化物浓度的至少5%(例如至少10%、15%、20%、25%、30%、35%、40%、45%、50%、55%、60%、65%、70%、75%、80%、85%、90%或95%)。每根卷烟内催化剂颗粒的优选用量为最多约200mg(例如1mg-200mg,1mg-50mg,或50mg-100mg)。可将包封的催化剂颗粒掺入到卷烟内,其用量将在小于约200℃的温度下有效地转化至少5%,更优选至少25%主流烟气内的一氧化碳成二氧化碳,和/或在小于约200℃的温度下转化至少5%,更优选至少25%主流烟气内的氮氧化物成氮氧化物。
公开了制备卷烟的方法,该方法包括下述步骤:(i)在烟丝、卷烟纸和卷烟滤嘴中的至少一种之内和/或之上掺入包封的催化剂颗粒;(ii)提供卷烟机烟丝,形成烟草柱;(iii)在烟草柱周围放置卷烟外包纸,形成卷烟的烟条;和(iv)使用接装纸,任选地固定卷烟滤嘴到烟草柱上。
尽管不希望束缚于理论,但认为在抽吸于其内掺入了包封的催化剂颗粒的卷烟过程中,可在氧气存在下,催化CO和/或NO,降低主流和/或侧流烟气内的CO和/或NO。还认为在催化反应之后,在氧气存在或者不存在情况下,催化剂颗粒可氧化CO,和/或还原NO,结果降低在主流和/或侧流烟气内的CO和/或NO。优选地,包封的催化剂颗粒可催化CO成二氧化碳碳以及NO成氮气二者。
此处所使用的催化剂能影响化学反应的速度,即催化剂可增加一氧化碳氧化成二氧化碳的速度且没有作为反应物或反应产物参与。氧化剂能例如通过供给反应物氧气,从而氧化反应物,以便氧化剂本身被还原。还原剂能例如通过接受来自反应物的氧,从而还原反应物,以便还原剂本身被氧化。
卷烟的“抽吸”是指加热或燃烧卷烟,形成烟气,所述烟气可通过卷烟抽吸。一般地,卷烟抽吸牵涉点火卷烟的一端,同时在其内包含的烟草经历燃烧反应,通过卷烟的嘴端抽吸来自燃烧的烟气。卷烟也可通过其他机构抽吸。例如,可通过加热卷烟和/或使用电加热器设备加热,抽吸卷烟,正如在共同转让的美国专利Nos.6053176、5934289、5591368或5322075中所述。
术语“主流”烟气是指从烟条中向下流动且通过滤嘴端冒出的气体混合物,即在卷烟抽吸过程中从卷烟的嘴端冒出或抽吸的烟气。主流烟气含有通过点火区以及通过卷烟外包纸二者抽吸的烟气。术语“侧流”烟气是指在静态燃烧过程中产生的烟气。
几个因素有助于在卷烟内形成一氧化碳和氮氧化物。除了烟草内的成分以外,在燃烧过程中卷烟内的温度和氧气浓度可影响其形成。例如,在抽吸过程中形成的一氧化碳的总量来自于三种主要来源的燃烧:热分解(约30%)、燃烧(约36%)和用碳化的烟草还原二氧化碳(至少23%)。由热分解形成一氧化碳主要受到化学动力学控制,该过程始于约180℃的温度并止于约1050℃。在燃烧过程中形成一氧化碳和二氧化碳主要通过扩散氧气到表面(ka)和借助表面反应(kb)来控制。在250℃下,ka和kb大致相同。在400℃下,反应受扩散控制。最后,用碳化的烟草或木炭还原二氧化碳发生于约390℃及以上的温度下。
在燃烧过程中,在主流烟气内产生浓度为约0.5mg/根卷烟的氮氧化物。然而,可根据下述反应,通过一氧化碳还原氮氧化物:

N2O+CO→N2+CO2
在抽烟过程中,在卷烟内存在三个不同的区域:燃烧区、热解/蒸馏区和冷凝/过滤区。燃烧区是通常在卷烟的点火端,在卷烟抽吸过程中产生的卷烟的燃烧区。在燃烧区内的温度范围为约700℃-约950℃,和加热速度可高至500℃/秒。在烟草的燃烧中消耗氧气,产生一氧化碳、二氧化碳、氮氧化物、水蒸气和其他有机化合物(例如焦油)。燃烧区高度放热,且所生成的热量被携带到热解/蒸馏区内。
热解区是在燃烧区之后的区域,其中温度范围为约200℃-约600℃。热解区是其中产生大多数一氧化碳的区域。主要的反应是利用燃烧区内生成的热量,烟草热解(即热降解),所述热解将产生一氧化碳、二氧化碳、氮氧化物、木炭和其他烟气组分(例如焦油)。
在冷凝/过滤区内,温度范围为环境温度到约150℃。在这一区内的主要过程是烟气组分的冷凝/过滤。某些量的一氧化碳、二氧化碳、氮氧化物和氮气扩散到卷烟外,和一些氧气(例如空气)扩散到卷烟内。
在卷烟的抽吸过程中,主流烟气流向卷烟的滤嘴端。当一氧化碳和氮氧化物在卷烟内行进时,通过外包纸,氧气扩散到卷烟内,而一氧化碳与氮氧化物扩散到卷烟外。在典型的2秒卷烟抽吸之后,在卷烟周围,即在燃烧区之前,在卷烟的外包纸附近CO和NO聚集。由于氧气扩散到卷烟内,因此氧气浓度在该周围区域内也高。流动到烟条内的空气在燃烧区附近在卷烟的周围最大,且大致与温度梯度成比例,即较高的空气流与较大的温度梯度有关。在典型的卷烟中,最高的温度梯度为从燃烧区(>850℃-900℃)轴向到卷烟的过滤嘴端。在燃烧区之后的几mm内,温度下降到几乎环境温度。可在Richard R.Baker,“Mechanism of Smoke Formation and Delivery(烟气形成与传输机理)”,Recent Advances in Tobacco Science,vol.6,pp.184-224(1980)和Richard R.Baker,“Variation of the GasFormation Regionswithin a Cigarette Combustion Coal during the Smoking Cycle”(在抽吸循环过程中在卷烟的燃烧煤内气体形成区域的变化), zur Tabakforschung International,vol.11,no.1,pp.1-17(1981)中找到关于空气流图案、在抽烟过程中在卷烟内各成分的形成,以及烟气的形成与传输的进一步的信息,在此通过参考将其引入。
非挥发性化合物,例如由烟草的燃烧和/或热解产生的焦油可涂布未包封的催化剂颗粒并降低其催化效率。然而,可通过从催化剂颗粒中除去挥发性包封层,从而除去在包封的催化剂颗粒表面上形成的非挥发性化合物,于是暴露催化剂颗粒于卷烟烟气下。
可提供干粉、糊剂或在液体内的分散体形式的包封的催化剂颗粒。例如,可在烟丝烟草或卷烟纸上喷粉、喷洒包封的催化剂颗粒,或将它们结合。在进一步的实例中,可用含包封的催化剂颗粒的液体漂洗或浸涂烟丝或卷烟纸材料。
卷烟制备技术是本领域已知的。可使用任何常规或改性的卷烟制备技术掺入包封的催化剂颗粒。在生产卷烟中,典型地将烟丝组合物与其他卷烟添加剂任选地结合,并提供给卷烟机,以生产烟草柱,然后在卷烟纸内包裹,形成烟条,将烟条切割成部分,并任选地用滤嘴接装。可使用标准或改性的卷烟制备技术和设备,制造所得卷烟为所需的技术规格。卷烟长度范围可以是约50mm-约120mm。周长为约15mm-约30mm的周长,和优选约25mm。烟草的填充密度范围典型地为约100mg/cm3-约300mg/cm3,和优选150mg/cm3-约275mg/cm3。
一个实施方案提供形成包封的催化剂颗粒,然后将该催化剂颗粒沉积在烟丝上和/或在其内掺入的方法。烟丝通常为切割成宽度范围为约1/4cm-约1/8cm(约1/10英寸-约1/20英寸)或甚至1/16cm(1/40英寸)的烟丝或烟丝束。烟丝束的长度范围为约0.65cm-约7.6cm(约0.25英寸-约3.0英寸)。卷烟可进一步包括一种或更多种增味剂或其他添加剂(例如,燃烧添加剂、燃烧改性剂、着色剂、粘合剂等)。
任何合适的卷烟混合物可用于烟丝。卷烟材料的合适类型的实例包括烤烟、白肋烟、亮色烤烟、马里兰烟或东方型烟,稀有或特产烟,及其共混物。可提供层压体、加工烟草材料,例如体积膨胀或膨胀型烟草,加工烟梗,例如切辊(cut-rolled)或切胀(cut-puffed)烟梗、再造烟草材料形式的烟草材料,或其共混物。烟草也可包括烟草成分。
可将包封的催化剂颗粒加入到供应至卷烟机中的烟丝的烟草存料(stock)(例如松散的烟丝)内,或者在烟条周围包裹卷烟外包纸形成烟草柱之前直接掺入到烟条上。优选地,沿着烟条的长度连续提供包封的催化剂颗粒,但包封的催化剂颗粒可在沿着烟条长度方向的离散位置上提供。因此,包封的催化剂颗粒可均匀或非均匀地沿着烟条长度方向分配。例如,烟条可包括沿着烟条的方向的一个位置处包封的催化剂颗粒的第一负载,和沿着烟条方向的第二位置处包封的催化剂颗粒的第二负载。优选的含包封的催化剂颗粒的烟条在烟条的滤嘴端具有包封的催化剂颗粒的第一负载,和在烟条的远端具有包封的催化剂颗粒的第二负载,其中第一负载大于第二负载。
可提供任何所需比例的包封的催化剂颗粒和烟丝,例如1wt%-90wt%的包封的催化剂颗粒和99wt%-10wt%的烟丝,更优选约1wt%-约50wt%的包封的催化剂颗粒,最优选约1wt%-约20wt%的包封的催化剂颗粒。
除了或替代掺入包封的催化剂颗粒到烟条内以外,在卷烟纸掺入到卷烟内之前或之后,包封的催化剂颗粒还可掺入到卷烟纸内。可通过直接在纤维素纤维网上或者在纸张内掺入的纤维网-填料材料上直接沉积包封的催化剂颗粒,从而掺入该颗粒。可将包封的催化剂颗粒掺入到卷烟纸内和/或制备卷烟纸所使用的原料内(例如掺入到卷烟纸制造机的纸料内)。
可通过在湿的基础材料(例如纤维素)纤维网、中间纤维网或完工的纤维网上喷洒或涂布颗粒,从而将包封的催化剂颗粒掺入到卷烟纸内。根据一种方法,在造纸工艺的过程中,干粉形式的包封的催化剂颗粒与卷烟纸材料物理混合。在另一种方法中,在造纸过程中,包封的催化剂颗粒的淤浆(例如含水淤浆)可掺入到造纸机的高位箱内,并可将包封的催化剂颗粒掺入到卷烟纸内。
可提供任何所需比值的包封的催化剂颗粒和卷烟纸,例如1wt%-90wt%的催化剂和99wt%-10wt%的卷烟纸。在优选的实施方案中,包封的催化剂颗粒的用量占卷烟纸的约1wt%-约50wt%,更优选约1wt%-约20wt%。
可作为在抽吸过程中显示出的温度和气流特征的函数,选择包封的催化剂颗粒在卷烟内的用量、位置和分布,以便调节,例如增加或最大化CO转化成二氧化碳和/或NO转化成氮气的转化率。可选择掺入到卷烟内的包封的催化剂颗粒的用量,以便在卷烟的抽吸过程中,在主流烟气内的一氧化碳含量和氮氧化物含量下降。
可在外包纸的至少一个表面(例如,内表面和/或外表面)上涂布和/或印刷包封的催化剂颗粒,在卷烟的外包纸上形成文字或图象。印刷量和/或催化剂的用量可以改变,以调节CO和/或NO的下降量。
可以(例如采用食品干燥器)干燥挥发性包封层,以控制包封的催化剂颗粒的外观。例如,可提供包封的催化剂颗粒的颜色与卷烟纸(或烟丝)的颜色相匹配或相反。
卷烟可包括不同包封的催化剂颗粒的混合物。可选择包封的催化剂颗粒的组成(即催化剂颗粒的组成和/或尺寸和/或包封剂的组成和/或厚度)在给定的温度范围内操作,和可将催化有效量的催化剂颗粒掺入到卷烟组分(例如烟丝、卷烟滤嘴和/或卷烟纸)内,以控制转化效率和/或催化剂的选择率。例如,第一包封的催化剂颗粒可掺入到卷烟的烟丝内,和第二包封的催化剂颗粒可掺入到卷烟纸内。包封的催化剂颗粒在其内掺入的卷烟纸可用作卷烟内的卷烟纸、纸过滤嘴和/或纸填料。
具有外包纸可以是适合于包围烟丝的任何外包纸,其中包括含亚麻、大麻、洋麻、细茎针草、稻草和纤维素等等的外包纸。任选的填料材料、增味剂添加剂和燃烧添加剂可包括在卷烟外包纸内。外包纸的截面可具有大于一层,例如双层外包纸,正如在共同拥有的美国专利No.5143098中所公开的,其整个内容在此通过参考引入。
包封的催化剂颗粒可掺入卷烟的外包纸内。含纤维状纤维素材料的纤维网的外包纸可进一步包括纤维网-填料材料,如碳酸钙(CaCO3)的颗粒。在实践中,纤维网-填料材料充当控制外包纸的渗透率的作用。外包纸的渗透率典型地以单位Coresta测量,它定义为在1分钟内,在1.0kPa的压降下,通过1cm2材料的空气的体积,以cm3为单位。
外包纸可包括一层或更多层。优选的卷烟包括第一外包纸、在第一外包纸周围形成的第二外包纸,和在第一外包纸内掺入的包封的催化剂颗粒。
包封的催化剂颗粒优选分布在整个烟条和/或卷烟的外包纸部分内。尤其在燃烧、热解、冷凝和/或过滤区域处,可通过在卷烟的一个或更多个组件当中提供包封的催化剂颗粒,来降低通过卷烟抽吸的一氧化碳量。
进一步的实施方案提供处理烟气的方法,该方法包括点火卷烟,形成烟气,并通过卷烟抽吸烟气,其中挥发性包封剂至少部分挥发,暴露催化剂颗粒的表面。在优选的实施方案中,挥发性包封剂在烧焦线之约0.1mm-10mm的距离处挥发。

Claims (18)

(i)掺入包封的催化剂颗粒到烟草烟丝、卷烟滤嘴和卷烟外包纸中的至少一种之内、之上或之内和之上;
(ii)提供卷烟机烟草烟丝,形成烟草柱;
(iii)在烟草柱周围放置卷烟外包纸,形成卷烟的烟条;和
(iv)任选的使用接装纸,固定卷烟滤嘴到烟草柱上。
16.权利要求15的方法,其中掺入包括喷洒、喷粉或浸渍。
17.权利要求15的方法,其中通过在湿的基础纤维网、中间纤维网或完工的纤维网上喷洒或涂布包封的催化剂颗粒,将包封的催化剂颗粒掺入到卷烟纸内。
18.权利要求15的方法,其中掺入步骤包括在不存在液体的情况下,结合包封的催化剂颗粒与下述中的至少一种:烟草烟丝和卷烟外包纸。
