Abstract

本申请为2005年10月11日提交的第11/246196号美国专利申请的部分连续申请,并要求于2004年10月12日提交的第60/617030号美国临时专利申请的优先权。
技术领域
本发明涉及在热挤压塑料薄膜由环形挤压模具挤压成形之后向其供应冷却气体的气环(air ring)。
背景技术
过去已经提出了许多不同类型的气环,例如参见其内容通过引用并入本文的、于1998年9月8日授权的第5804221号美国专利(Planeta等人),该专利描述了对位于不同周边位置的气流进行控制以调节挤塑薄膜的规格(厚度)。在2004年5月21日授权的Randolph等人的第6739855号美国专利中描述了另一种方案。但是,由于对由具有不同物理性质的不同塑料材料制成的高质量薄膜的需求不断增加,需要在不同周边位置具有改进的气流控制。
因此,本发明的目的在于提供一种气环,其使得能够以改进的方式控制不同周边位置的气流。
发明内容
根据本发明,提供了一种气环,用于当热挤压塑料薄膜在升高的温度下由环形挤压模具挤压成形之后向其供应冷却气体,所述气环包括:环形本体,其在使用中围绕已离开所述挤压模具的热管状塑料薄膜,所述环形本体具有环形充气室,来自外部源的气体供应至所述充气室;一系列周边延伸的分离的气道,所述气道与所述充气室连通,用于接纳来自所述充气室的冷却气体,并且所述气道径向向内延伸至各个分离的孔,在所述气环的使用过程中,所述分离的孔靠近并围绕所述热管状薄膜;以及分离的遥控致动器,用于单独控制从所述充气室到各个气道和相关孔的气体流动,从而来自各个孔的气流基本独立于来自其它孔的气流地撞击到所述管状薄膜的不连续的周边延伸部分上,每个所述遥控致动器只控制流向一个所述分离的孔的气流,并且所述充气室还提供通过所述环形本体的环形通路流至环形孔的气体,在所述气环的使用过程中,所述环形孔靠近并围绕所述管状薄膜。
所述充气室可提供通过环形通路流至两个环形孔的气体,在气环的使用过程中,环形孔靠近并围绕热管状薄膜。
所述环形本体的下侧可固定有一系列周边延伸的径向向内定向的附件,所述附件与所述环形本体协同工作,以形成气道,所述环形本体在其底部中具有一系列周边延伸的孔,所述孔在所述充气室与所述气道之间提供连通,每个所述遥控致动器具有可滑动地安装在其中且受其控制的阀部件,所述阀部件位于所述孔附近,从而所述阀部件的运动控制所述孔的尺寸,以改变流至所述相关的孔的气流。

具体实施方式
首先参照附图中的图1和图2,设置有根据本发明的一个实施方案的气环12,以对由环形挤压模具18挤压之后的管状塑料薄膜16进行冷却。气环12包括环形本体22,环形本体22的径向内边缘部分安装在挤压模具18的顶部上。形成了充气室26的环形壳24围绕并固定至环形本体22的径向外边缘。充气室26由外部源(未示出)供应冷却气体,冷却气体在径向向内的方向上从充气室26通过气环本体22的环形通路28传递到下环形孔54和上环形孔56,下环形孔54和上环形孔56位于本体22的邻近管状薄膜16的径向内边缘,从而来自孔54和56的气体能够在薄膜16的附近向上流动,如箭头A所示。
一系列周边延伸的径向向内定向的附件40固定至环形本体22的下侧。各个附件40与环形本体22协同工作,以形成气室42、以及从气室42延伸至环形本体22和附件40的径向内边缘处的孔46的气道44。环形本体22在其底部具有一系列周边延伸的孔48,各个孔48提供了环形通路28与气室42之间的连通。同样,各个附件40携带有阀部件50,阀部件50可滑动地安装在附件40中,并可在孔48附近垂直运动。各个阀部件50的垂直运动由一系列周边延伸的遥控致动器52中对应的一个来控制,致动器52操作以使得各个阀部件50调节孔48的尺寸,并因此调节从环形通路28到达气室42和随后到达孔46的气体量。致动器52可具有适当的类型,例如电机或压电电机、双金属致动器、螺管线圈、压力调节器或流量阀。
因此,来自环形通路28和充气室26的、从气环12的各个孔46流动的冷却气体的量可借助于各自的遥控致动器52独立于来自其它孔54和56的气流来进行调节。这种调节可对于特定类型的被挤压薄膜进行预编程,或者可响应于由环形厚度传感器(其未示出,但对于本领域技术人员是公知的)检测的薄膜厚度的周边变化来进行自动调节。由于对来自孔46的冷却气体量的调节而造成的膜泡16的半径在任何特定周边位置处从R1增加至R2,将使得膜泡16在该位置处具有较小的厚度。
除了添加了已知类型的次气环60之外,图3所示的结构与图1所示的结构类似。次气环60具有提供了充气室66的环形壳64,环形本体68具有气室60,气室60具有通向两个孔74、76的气道72。可以注意到,来自各个孔74、76的冷却气体与来自主气环12的冷却气体融合,以形成如箭头C所示的冷却气体流。
除了设置有内部膜泡冷却设备20之外,图4与图1相同。除了省略了环形孔54之外,图5与图1类似。
根据以上对优选实施方案的描述,本领域技术人员将能够清晰地认识到本发明的有益效果。尤其应该注意到,通过向现有气环固定附件40、致动器52和阀部件50并在现有气环中设置孔48,本发明可由适当的现有气环进行改型。例如,如上述实施方案所示,孔48可设置在现有气环的底部中,而附件40可固定至该气环的底部。

Claims (3)

1.一种气环,用于当热挤压塑料薄膜在升高的温度下由环形挤压模具挤压成形之后向其供应冷却气体,所述气环包括:
环形本体,其在使用中围绕已离开所述挤压模具的热管状塑料薄膜,所述环形本体具有环形充气室,来自外部源的气体供应至所述充气室;
一系列分离的气道,所述气道完全围绕所述环形本体延伸,并且与所述充气室连通,用于接纳来自所述充气室的冷却气体,所述气道由所述充气室径向向内延伸至各个分离的孔,在所述气环的使用过程中,所述分离的孔靠近并完全围绕所述热管状薄膜;以及
多个分离的遥控致动器,用于单独控制从所述充气室到各个气道和相关孔的气体流动,每个所述遥控致动器只控制流向一个所述分离的孔的气流,从而来自各个孔的气流以基本独立于来自其它孔的气流的方式撞击到所述管状薄膜的不连续的周边延伸部分上,并且
所述充气室还提供通过所述环形本体的环形通路流至环形孔的气体,在所述气环的使用过程中,所述环形孔靠近并围绕所述管状薄膜。
2.如权利要求1所述的气环,其中,所述充气室提供通过所述环形通路流至两个所述环形孔的气体,在所述气环的使用过程中,所述环形孔靠近并围绕所述热管状薄膜。
3.如权利要求1所述的气环,其中,所述环形本体的下侧固定有一系列周边延伸的径向向内定向的附件,每个所述附件与所述环形本体协同工作,以形成所述气道,所述环形本体在其底部中具有一系列周边延伸的孔,每个所述孔在所述充气室与气道之间提供连通,每个所述遥控致动器具有可滑动地安装在其中且受其控制的阀部件,所述阀部件位于所述孔附近,从而所述阀部件的运动控制所述孔的尺寸,以改变流至所述相关的孔的气流。
