Abstract

Description

向配备倾斜感应器的通信设备输入命令和/或字符的方法
技术领域
本发明涉及配备有输入设备的便携式通信设备,该输入设备使用通信设备的振动/倾斜检测以向该便携式设备输入信息。
背景技术
相关的便携式通信设备是所有类型的手持通信设备,例如PDA或移动电话。
对于此类便携式设备大量输入设备是已知的,例如键盘、使用手指或特殊笔的触摸式屏幕、采用单个或多个导航键形式的2D或4D导航装置、或甚至是用于语音识别的声学装置。
最近,已经开发了基于通过检测便携式设备相对于至少一个轴的倾斜来检测便携式设备的运动的新输入设备。这些新输入设备在陀螺仪、加速器、多轴陀螺仪和多轴加速器中的至少一个当中包括倾斜感应器。
文献US2005/0197145公开了一种移动电话,由于使用了振动/倾斜检测设备,其允许用户打电话时不需要任何键盘操作而输入电话号码。组成电话号码从0-9的每个号码,根据预定规则都从检测到的运动和倾斜所得的号码而推导出来。
文献EP1591873公开了一种借助于倾斜感应器向便携式电子设备输入信息的方法和装置。根据该文献,倾斜感应器被用来确定围绕至少一个轴的惯量改变是否对应于输入设备的轻敲(tapping),以识别所述输入设备的接触区域并且实现基于所述输入设备的接触区域的识别的至少一种功能。相关的功能从控制音量、卷动项目列表或菜单、选择条目、以及显示字符或符号中选出。为了输入号码或字符,用户需要连续轻敲输入设备的多个区域。然后被识别出的接触区域的顺序将确定对应的字符。
最近,一种包括3D加速器的新的移动电话已经在市场上出现。该加速器计算并探知所述移动电话在三维空间内的运动,且依照那些计算结果执行命令。例如,用户会以画出号码“3”的姿势在空中移动电话。该运动被加速器计算并且图形“3”被显示在移动电话的屏幕上。
虽然这种根据预定姿势使移动电话运动的新命令输入方式很时尚,但对于用户来说一种可能的缺点是,需要学习他不得不对应于给定功能所要做的正确姿势,以及当他开始对移动电话的运动时,他该如何握持他的移动电话。一个原因是,加速器的中间位置,即进行计算的参考位置,在生产移动电话时取决于加速器在机壳内的位置和方向被校准并且被固定。这意味着,用户例如为了导航意图每次都必须使用加速器的功能性,则他必须首先将他的移动电话放在正确的位置以便与加速器的中间位置相一致。例如,如果加速器的中间位置针对移动电话的垂直位置而定义,则用户必须以垂直地握持移动电话来开始任何姿势。
发明内容
本发明的旨在是通过提供这样的解决方案来克服上文所述的缺陷:允许用户在任意时间定义加速器的中间位置。
为此,本发明的目的是为便携式通信设备提供一种输入命令和/或字符的方法,该便携式通信设备装备有包括倾斜感应器的输入设备,所述方法包括以下步骤:
-通过所述倾斜感应器的测量结果确定所述便携式通信设备的运动,所述测量结果是关于所述倾斜感应器的中间位置而计算的;
-从所述运动中推导出相关命令和/或字符。
该方法的特征在于,其进一步包括由所述便携式通信设备的用户触发的初步校准步骤,该初步校准步骤在于将所述中间位置定义为触发所述校准步骤时感应器的当前位置。

具体实施方式
参考图2,实施了根据本发明的方法的便携式通信设备1包括传统的输入设备,例如包括若干个键2的键盘,以及用于显示不同项目的屏幕3,所述项目例如:用户导航所借助的菜单,或与设备的状态有关的数据(电池量级、移动电话的蜂窝网络覆盖、数据...),或由用户为了打电话或发消息而输入的字符和/或数字。便携式通信设备1还包括输入设备(未显示),其包括可在至少两维空间计算便携式设备的运动的倾斜感应器。已知的是,根据包括以下连续步骤的方法,这样的输入设备可用来输入命令和/或字符,如图1所示:
-在第一步骤S1期间,由倾斜感应器关于所述倾斜感应器的中间位置做出若干测量结果,且所述测量结果被用来确定所述便携式通信设备的运动。
-在后续步骤S2,对应于所述运动的命令和/或字符被推导出。本发明的目的并非详细描述该阶段所进行的精确软件处理。
正如上文所提到的,在已知的方法中,用于倾斜感应器进行测量的参考标准的中间位置对应于生产便携式设备时所校准的固定位置,并且依赖于感应器的固有特性和感应器在设备内的放置方式。
根据本发明,用户现在有机会在任意时间校准作为测量参考标准的所述中间位置。为此,根据本发明的方法包括初步校准步骤S0,其中将中间位置定义为在进入所述校准步骤时感应器(也就是便携式通信设备)的当前位置。该校准步骤由用户触发,也就是应用户请求执行。这可以通过例如设备1的键的活动(如在图2上显示的键K)来进行。可选地,引起便携式设备的特定运动的用户特定姿势f,也能被倾斜感应器和处理装置识别为对应于进入所述校准步骤的意愿。所述步骤的触发也可由诸如语音识别的任意其他输入装置来进行。
假设便携式通信设备被配置为:当用户在空间中用设备画“3”时,数字“3”出现在屏幕上,且感应器的原始中间位置关对应于保持在垂直位置的便携式设备。采用已知的方法,用户在空间中画“3”之前必须先将设备放置在垂直位置。因为有本发明,用户能选择感应器的当前位置为新的中间位置,即使该新的中间位置不与原始中间位置相对应也能执行将被识别的姿势。典型地,当用户躺在床上时,他能在空间中画出“3”,而不用垂直地握住便携式设备。
在根据本发明的方法的优选实施例中,提供进一步的步骤S3,用于在便携式设备1的屏幕3上显示小目标,该目标具有标记或点N或当前中间位置的任何第一直观指示,以及标记或点C或任何其他的当前设备位置的任何第二直观指示。这将帮助用户在任意时间回到该中间位置。该目标的中心可以定义为中间位置,同时仅通过覆盖感应器发送的坐标就能很容易地确定点C。
在图2显示的例子中,考虑了2D加速器。结果,关于两轴坐标系统的当前中间位置的直观指示和设备的当前位置的直观指示被确定。在3D加速器的情况下,任何合适的三维图形都可用来帮助用户回到中间位置。

Claims (3)

1.一种用于向配备输入设备的便携式通信设备(1)输入命令和/或字符的方法,所述输入设备包括倾斜感应器,该方法包括以下步骤:
将所述便携式通信设备(1)的动作识别为与期望进入初步校准步骤(S0)相对应的姿势;
在所述初步校准步骤(S0)中,在进入所述初步校准步骤(S0)时定义所述便携式通信设备(1)的中间位置为所述感应器的当前位置;
通过所述倾斜感应器的测量结果确定(S1)所述便携式通信设备的运动,所述测量结果是关于所述倾斜感应器的中间位置而计算的;以及
从所述运动推导(S2)出相关命令和/或字符。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,所述初步校准步骤(S0)还由用户通过键(K)的活动而触发。
3.根据前述权利要求任一项的方法,进一步包括在所述便携式通信设备(1)的屏幕(3)上显示所述中间位置的第一直观指示(N)以及所述便携式通信设备(1)的任意其他当前位置的第二直观指示(C)的步骤(S3)。
