Description

本发明涉及在数码相机拍摄的照片或视频剪辑的图像文件中附加位置标记的方法,所述数码相机有一个GPS天线和一个包含一个用来接收GPS信号和输出GPS信号样本的模数转换器的GPS RF前端;并为涉及一个以同样目的的数码相机和计算机。
众所周知,提供一种有GPS接收器的数码相机,其中由数码相机产生的图像文件在如GPS接收器确定捕获时用识别相机位置的数据来注释或标明。例如,参见美国专利6269446或者欧洲专利申请EP1189021A1。
根据本发明,提供了一种上述类型的方法,包含步骤:(i)当用户拍摄照片或视频剪辑时:(a)创建一个包含该照片或视频剪辑的图像文件,并且(b)对接收的GPS信号采样并例如以一个文件格式,连同与那些GPS信号样本相关的照片或视频剪辑的图像文件的指示来存储那些GPS信号样本;并且(ii)随后处理所述GPS信号样本以获得定位并把定位附加到图像文件。

特别是,在用户拍摄相应第一和第二照片或视频剪辑时,在对第一照片或视频剪辑完成步骤(ii)之前,步骤(i)可以执行两次。
根据本发明,也提供了一个对应的数码相机和计算机,如在权利要求7到15中要求的。
将参考附图仅以举例的方式来描述本发明,附图示意地显示一台与一个包含GPS接收设备的数码相机连接的PC,两者都根据本发明来操作。
参考附图,PC通过一个USB PC端口和对应的电缆到数码相机10,数码相机10包含一个连接到GPS天线的GPS前端接收器(Rx),一个图像传感器(IS)和存储器(Mem),其都由一个微处理器μC来控制。
在操作时,GPS接收器通过它的天线接收NAVSTAR SPS GPS信号,并且通常通过无源带通滤波以便使带外的RF干扰最小化、预放大、降频转换至中频(IF)以及模数转换来预处理它们。该中频信号保持为调制的,仍然包含来自可用的卫星的所有信息。合成的GPS信号样本随后被存储在存储器(Mem)中。
根据本发明,数码相机和PC可以产生一个位置标记过的图像文件,如下面任何一个实例情景说明的那样:
实例1
当拥有该相机的用户照相时,创建一个包含该照片的图像文件并将其存储在存储器中。与此同时,GPS接收器接收和采样GPS信号并把合成的GPS信号样本连同一个与所述GPS信号样本相关的图像文件的指示一起以一个数据文件格式存储在存储器中。
一旦用户回到家并把数码相机连接到用户的家庭PC上,图像文件和对应的GPS信号样本被上传到PC上。然后使用合适的基于PC的GPS信号处理软件和PC更强大的处理器来处理那些GPS信号样本,以便恢复伪距离信息,能够在拍摄对应的照片时通过使用传统导航算法来根据该伪距离信息确定数码相机位置。这样的GPS信号捕捉和伪距离处理是众所周知的,例如,参见《GPS原理和应用》(编者,Kaplan)ISBN 0-89006-793-7 Artech House。然后把定位附加到图像文件。
实例2
除了用在与PC连接之前记录的对应图像文件和GPS信号样本拍摄两张或多张照片之外,都与实例1一样。在连接后,处理两套GPS信号样本并且把获得的定位附加到相应的图像文件。
实例3
除了GPS信号处理软件是基于PC机之外,它可以是基于照相机的,由此在图像文件被创建并且GPS信号样本被存储后GPS信号样本仅在故意的延迟结束后被处理。例如,可以标准时间对GPS信号样本进行后处理,从而使处理器功率消耗最小化。类似地,可以仅在检测到从照相机至外部电源的连接后才处理GPS信号样本。
已经在NAVSTAR GPS,这个由美国国防部开发并且目前由他们运行的全天候、基于空间的导航系统的文章中描述了本发明,同时将理解本发明同等地适用于其他全球定位系统,包括GLONASS和Galileo及其混合系统。

Claims (15)

1.把位置标记附加在数码相机拍摄的照片或视频剪辑的图像文件中的方法,所述数码相机有一个GPS天线和一个包括一个用来接收GPS信号和输出GPS信号样本的模数转换器的GPS RF前端,本方法包含步骤:
(i)当用户拍摄照片或视频剪辑时:(a)创建一个包含该照片或视频剪辑的图像文件,并(b)对接收的GPS信号采样并连同与那些GPS信号样本相关的照片或视频剪辑的图像文件的指示来存储那些GPS信号样本;并且
(ii)随后处理所述GPS信号样本以获得一个定位并且把该定位附加到图像文件。
2.根据权利要求1的方法,其中在步骤(i)之后,在一个故意的延迟结束后执行步骤(ii)。
3.根据权利要求1的方法,还包含步骤:在步骤(i)之后但在步骤(ii)之前,上传图像文件和GPS信号样本至一个外部计算机。
4.根据权利要求1的方法,还包含步骤:在步骤(i)之后,检测到照相机的外部电源的连接,于是步骤(ii)自动地进行处理,或者在一个对此自动提示的情况下经用户确认后进行处理。
5.根据权利要求1的方法,其中在对第一照片或视频剪辑完成步骤(ii)之前,步骤(i)在用户拍摄相应第一和第二照片或视频剪辑时被执行两次。
6.根据权利要求1的方法,其中GPS信号样本以一个文件格式存储。
7.一个包含一个GPS天线和一个GPS RF前端的数码相机,所述GPS RF前端包括一个用来接收GPS信号和输出GPS信号样本的模数转换器;其中,当用户拍摄照片或视频剪辑时:(a)创建一个包含该照片或视频剪辑的图像文件,并且(b)对接收的GPS信号采样并连同在步骤(a)中创建的与那些GPS信号样本相关的图像文件的指示来存储GPS信号样本。

10.根据权利要求8中的数码相机,配置成在检测到照相机的外部电源的连接之后并且自动地或者一个对此自动提示的情况下经用户确认之后,处理GPS信号样本以便获得定位。
11.根据权利要求8中的数码相机,配置成在处理GPS信号样本以便获得一个定位并且把定位附加到第一照片或是视频剪辑的图像文件之前,当用户拍摄相应第一和第二照片或视频剪辑时,允许执行步骤(a)和(b)两次。
12.根据权利要求7中的数码相机,配置成上传图像文件和GPS信号样本至一个外部计算机。
13.根据权利要求12中的数码相机,配置成在上传图像文件和GPS信号样本至一个外部计算机之前,当用户拍摄相应第一和第二照片或视频剪辑时,允许执行步骤(a)和(b)两次。
14.根据权利要求7中的数码相机,其中GPS信号样本以一个文件格式存储。
15.一台包含处理器和接收器的计算机,并配置成(a)通过接收器接收包含照片或视频剪辑的图像文件、GPS信号样本和一个对应图像的指示,该指示根据在拍摄对应照片或视频剪辑时已被采样而与所述GPS信号样本相关;(b)处理GPS信号样本以获得定位;并且(c)附加该定位至对应的图像文件。
