Abstract
Un método para unir una primera parte (11) de metal con una segunda parte (12) de metal, las partes (11, 12) de metal que tienen una temperatura de solidus superior a 1100 °C. El método comprende: aplicar una composición (14) depresora de fusión en una superficie (15) de la primera parte (11) de metal, la composición (14) depresora de fusión que comprende un componente depresor de fusión que comprende al menos 25% en peso de boro y silicio para disminuir una temperatura de fusión de la primera parte (11) de metal; poner (202) la segunda parte (12) de metal en contacto con la composición (14) depresora de fusión en un punto (16) de contacto en dicha superficie (15); calentar las primera y segunda partes (11, 12) de metal a una temperatura superior a 1100 °C; y dejar que una capa (210) de metal fundido del primer componente (11) de metal se solidifique, de tal manera que una unión (25) se obtenga en el punto (16) de contacto. De acuerdo con la presente divulgación, el boro al menos parcialmente se origina de un compuesto de boro seleccionado a partir de cualquiera de los siguientes compuestos: ácido bórico, bórax, diboruro de titanio y nitruro de boro. También se describen la composición depresora de fusión y productos relacionados.
