Description

Process for converting the resinous phenol formaldehyde condensation product into an easily pulverizable resin. The main patent describes a process which aims to convert the resinous phenol-formaldehyde condensation product produced with bases into an easily pulverizable resin which can be converted into an infusible, insoluble condensation product by heating.
The purpose of the present process is to convert the resinous phenol-formaldehyde condensation product into an easily pulverizable, non-sticky resin when heated, which cannot be converted into an infusible condensation product when heated.
The process consists in preparing the resinous condensation product from phenol and formaldehyde with bases as condensation agents, and the same before its final separation with an acidic substance in an amount which is below that which the resin in the infusible, insoluble one Able to supply condensation product and which is sufficient to bind so much base that there is no longer enough base to convert the resin into the infusible, insoluble condensation product when heated, ver sets and heated.
Example 1: 110 parts by weight of phenol and 80 parts by weight of 40% by weight formaldehyde who are heated with 2 parts by weight of 18% ammonia for about 40-45 minutes; then mixed with 8.2 parts by weight of 10% hydrochloric acid, heated for about 15 minutes and washed and evaporated the resin deposited.
Example 2 110 parts by weight of phenol and 75 parts by weight of 40% by weight formaldehyde are heated with 2 parts by weight of 18% ammonia for about 45 minutes, then a stream of sulfur dioxide is passed in with stirring until the separated water reacts acidic and then heated again for about 10 minutes.
- $ eispieZ 3: 110 parts by weight of phenol and 26 parts by weight of triogymethylene are heated with 2 parts by weight of sodium carbonate (crystallized) for about 15-20 minutes, then heated 2.5 parts by weight ogalic acid, dissolved in water, added and heated again until separation, the separated resin washed and evaporated.
