Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines für die Herstellung von lrl.attierungsbädern geeigneten Präparates. Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein für die Herstellung von Mattierungsbädern sehr gut geeignetes Präparat erhält, wenn man ein Formaldehykondensationsprodukt des 2.4.6- Triamino-1.3.5-triazins (Melamins) in einer Säure löst.
Trägt man dieses Präparat in Wasser ein, so entsteht eine kolloidale Lösung, aus der sich das Kondensationsprodukt allmählich ausscheidet und die zum Mattieren ver wendet werden kann.
Als Säuren, die als Lösungsmittel insbe sondere geeignet sind, seien genannt: Ameisen säure, Essigsäure oder Salzsäure. Doch kön nen auch andere anorganische oder organische Säuren in Betracht kommen. <I>Beispiel:</I> Man stellt zunächst ein wasserunlösliches Kondensationsprodukt aus 1 Mol Melamin und 4'/z Mol Formaldehyd her, indem man die Komponenten in wässeriger Lösung 30 Mi nuten kocht, hierauf die Lösung im Vakuum eindampft. Der erhaltene Sirup erstarrt zu einer Gallerte, die an der Luft schliesslich zu einer bröckeligen, glasigen Masse zerfällt. Diese wird gepulvert und eine Stunde lang bei 120 gehärtet.
2 kg des so erhaltenen Pulvers werden in 10 Liter konzentrierter Schwefelsäure bei 70 C gelöst.

It has been found that a preparation which is very suitable for the production of matting baths is obtained if a formaldehyde condensation product of 2.4.6-triamino-1.3.5-triazine (melamine) is dissolved in an acid.
If this preparation is added to water, a colloidal solution is created from which the condensation product gradually separates and which can be used for matting.
Acids that are particularly suitable as solvents include: formic acid, acetic acid or hydrochloric acid. However, other inorganic or organic acids can also be used. <I> Example: </I> A water-insoluble condensation product is first prepared from 1 mol of melamine and 4 '/ z mol of formaldehyde by boiling the components in an aqueous solution for 30 minutes and then evaporating the solution in vacuo. The syrup obtained solidifies into a jelly that finally breaks down into a crumbly, glassy mass in the air. This is powdered and cured at 120 for one hour.
2 kg of the powder thus obtained are dissolved in 10 liters of concentrated sulfuric acid at 70.degree.
