Description

  

      Verfahren    zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes.    Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem  neuen Kondensationsprodukt gelangt, wenn  man     o-o'-Dimethylol-p-kresol        in    Gegenwart  eines Lösungsmittels und in Anwesenheit von       Salzsäure    mit     Thioharnstoff    umsetzt.  



  Als Lösungsmittel     kann    man beispielsweise       Alkohol    oder Aceton verwenden.  



  Das neue     Kondensationsprodukt    ist eine  weisse, weiche Masse, die in Wasser leicht  löslich ist und deren wässerige Lösung auf  Zusatz von     Natriumcarbonat    sofort einen un  löslichen Niederschlag abscheidet. Das neue  Produkt kann als     Textilhilfsstoff    verwendet  werden.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  Man löst 67,2 Gewichtsteile     o,o'-Dime-          thylol-p-kresol,    welches beispielsweise durch  Einwirkung von     Formaldehyd    auf     p-Kresol    er  halten wird, in 200     Volumteilen        Alkohol.    Zu  dieser Lösung werden bei 50-60   unter  Rühren 32 Gewichtsteile     Thioharnstoff    und       hernach    62 Gewichtsteile     alkoholische    Salz  säure von 25     ojo    gegeben. Nach     3/4stündigem     Rühren bei gleicher Temperatur ist die Kon-         densation    beendet.

   Nach dem     Abdestillieren     des     Alkohols    bei 50 o bleibt das Kondensations  produkt als weisse, weiche Masse, die in Was  ser leicht     löslich    ist, zurück. Die wässerige  Lösung scheidet auf Zusatz von     Natrium-          carbonat    momentan einen unlöslichen Nieder  schlag ab.

  <I> Example: </I> 67.2 parts by weight of o, o'-dimethylol-p-cresol, which is obtained, for example, by the action of formaldehyde on p-cresol, in 200 parts by volume of alcohol. To this solution, 32 parts by weight of thiourea and then 62 parts by weight of alcoholic hydrochloric acid of 25 ojo are added at 50-60 with stirring. After stirring for 3/4 hours at the same temperature, the condensation has ended.

   After distilling off the alcohol at 50 o, the condensation product remains as a white, soft mass that is easily soluble in water. The aqueous solution instantly separates an insoluble precipitate on the addition of sodium carbonate.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes, dadurch gekennzeich net, dass man o,o'-Dimethylol-p-kresol in Ge genwart eines Lösungsmittels und in Anwe senheit von Salzsäure mit Thioharnstoff umsetzt. Das neue Kondensationsprodukt ist eine weisse, weiche Masse, die in Wasser leicht löslich ist und deren wässerige Lösung auf Zusatz von Natriumcarbonat sofort einen un- löslichen Niederschlag abscheidet.
