Les fig. 1 et 2 sont respectivement une vue de côté et une coupe transversale d'une première forme d'exécution, la coupe étant faite suivant la ligne X--X de la fig. 1 ; La fig. 3 en est une vue de détail ; La fig. 4 est une autre vue de détail ; La fig. 5 représente schématiquement une vue de côté d'une deuxième forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention ; La fig. 6 en est une coupe transversale suivait la ligne X-X de la fig. 5 ; Les fig. 7 et 8 sont des vues de détails d'une autre forme d'exécution respectivement vue de côté et vue en bout; La fig. 9 en est une variante de détail ; Les fig. 10 et 11 représentent respective- meut une vue de côté et une partie d'une coupe transversale suivant la ligne Z-Z de la fig. 10, d'une autre forme d'exécution ;
Endless track automotive device for vehicles. The object of the invention is an endless track automotive device for vehicles.
This device comprises a driving member communicating its movement to at least one member on which passes an endless track and which serves as a guide, members serving as a guide for the lower section of the endless track being carried by levers mounted in a movable manner. on the frame of the device, these levers being connected to at least one pneumatic member whose purpose is to absorb the shocks produced on the endless track by the irregularities of the ground and to distribute the weight between the bodies on which the track passes without end.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, several embodiments of the object of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are respectively a side view and a cross section of a first embodiment, the section being taken along the line X - X of FIG. 1; Fig. 3 is a detail view; Fig. 4 is another detail view; Fig. 5 schematically shows a side view of a second embodiment of the object of the invention; Fig. 6 is a cross section taken along the line X-X of FIG. 5; Figs. 7 and 8 are detail views of another embodiment respectively seen from the side and seen from the end; Fig. 9 is a detailed variant thereof; Figs. 10 and 11 are respectively a side view and part of a cross section taken along the line Z-Z of FIG. 10, of another embodiment;
Fig. 12 is a detail view; Fig. 13 is a side view of another embodiment.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the frame B of the device comprises the bars 1 and 2, on which the rollers 6 are pivotally mounted as follows: each roller is carried by two rods i which are fixed to the bars 1 and 2 using articulation axes 3. The bracket 4 is articulated, by its two ends, by means of the axes 5, on each of the rods t, and carries, at its upper part, a plate b which presses against an air chamber E. This air chamber can be made, for example, of rubber lined with canvas.
Two rollers 7 and 8, mounted in an elastic manner, are intended to keep the upper section of the endless track always taut.
The roller 7 is mounted on a rod 7 'which is pivoted on a part 17, and the free end of which is under the action of a spring 9 which aims to exert traction on this rod to tighten the track. unending. The roller 8 is carried by a rod 8 'slidably mounted under the action of a spring 10 on the other end of the part 17. This part 17 carries a movable plate 11 against which the upper part of the chamber rests. air. This plate carries a threaded rod 12 which carries a nut 13 which is held in a cage fixed to a part 14 which is itself integral with the vehicle.
By rotating the nut 13, for example by means of a transmission, the plate 11 rises or falls, the cylindrical rods 15 and 16, which are fixed to the plate 11, slide freely in part 14 and serve to ensure good guidance. This makes it possible to adjust the height of the device relative to the vehicle. The part 17 passes under the calipers 4 and aims to limit the travel of the rollers. This part being integral with the plate 11, to which it is connected by its two ends, rises at the same time as it and thus continues to limit the travel of the rollers, regardless of the position of the plate 11. The motor movement is communicated to the last roller by means of a transmission.
The small pinion 18, whose axis is fixed to the frame, receives its movement from the engine by a transmission and transmits its movement by means of a transmission chain to the small pinion 19 mounted on the pinion shaft 6 (fig. 1). For devices that often have to run backwards, it is advantageous to have another similar transmission actuating a pinion 6 ', located near the front of the thruster. The small pinion 18 'can also be put into communication with the motor.
Note that it is advantageous for the axis a (FIG. 3) of the small pinion 18 to pass through the center of the axis of articulation of the rod t on the frame.
In order to prevent the rollers from falling suddenly to the ground, between the part 17 and the plates are arranged springs R, the purpose of which is to slow down this movement (fig. 1 and 2).
The endless track of the thruster shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is an ordinary endless chain. Q pads are attached to the chain flanges to ensure good grip.
The frame B of the device can be fixed to the frame of a vehicle, for example using cross members K fixed, on the one hand, to the bars 1 and 2 and, on the other hand, to the frame in question.
For an ordinary vehicle, you will usually need two devices.
K bars can be braced. The inner tube could consist of several separate elements or connected to each other by pipes, comprising valves allowing air to be introduced into the inner tubes or to leave them, as is shown in fig. 5 and 6.
This air chamber is more or less inflated depending on the nature of the ground, and can be fully or partially protected by rigid walls.
The position of the device with respect to the vehicle to which it is attached can be modified by connecting its frame to the part 17 which is integral with the part 11 controlled by the nut 13 instead of fixing it directly and rigidly to the vehicle in question.
Depending on this terrain, it may be advantageous to eliminate the elasticity of the first roller 6 "which can then be fixed relative to the frame B for example, by fixing the plate b" to the bar 17 using a cable.
In order to facilitate the turns by reducing the contact surface of the chain with the ground, the device can be provided with means by which it is possible to momentarily raise from the ground part of the rollers as well as the key end of the chain which they guide. . Fig. 4 shows a method of mounting the device in which the frame B is articulated around an articulation axis A fixed to the chassis of the vehicle. In this case, it is advantageous that the axis of the small pinion h which transmits its movement to the pinion 6 passes through the center of the axis A, so that the tension of the transmission chain is not modified by the oscillations of the frame.
In the embodiment of the device, shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, each plate b is connected to the corresponding roller by means of a cable; this cable 34 is fixed by the spacer 35 to the pivot rods which carry the roller: it is fixed, on the other hand, to the plate b and is guided by the pulleys 36 and 37. When the roller goes up, the cable, guided by the lice, exerts a traction on the plate b which sinks into the two air chambers E. Springs R (fig. 18) tend to make the roller ash. This device has the advantage of making it possible to accommodate the air chambers at a certain distance from the rollers.
In addition, this makes it possible to use the same air chambers for the two devices that any vehicle generally comprises; for this, the cable 34 '(fig. 19) plays the same role as the cable 34 and is attached, on the one hand, to a roller according to the device described above and, on the other hand, using a caliper 38 to a plate 39 which consists of two plates.
Fig. 9 shows as a variant a hinged mounted plate with cable transmission.
It may sometimes be advantageous to employ air chambers provided with transverse partitions with valves making it possible to establish or cut off the communication between the compartments; this will increase the pressure in one compartment or decrease it in another, which can be useful for making turns easier or for getting out of a hole.
Figs. 10 and 11 show a method of mounting the device, in which the rods carrying the rollers are slidably mounted on the frame. The pinion 6 'and the rollers 6 are carried by rods H ending in forks F which carry the rollers. These rods slide in the frame B which is then constituted by a single bar. Each of these rods carries a plate b which presses against the inner tube E. The frame itself surrounds the inner tube in its upper part and prevents it from moving upwards. In order to ensure better guidance of the rods H, they pass through the air chamber through passages made for this purpose in the latter and slide in the upper part of the frame (fig. 10 and 11). The tensioners 7 and 8 are pivotally mounted on the frame.
The frame is fixed to the chassis of a vehicle, for example by means of brackets N and N 'which are fixed to a part 18 integral with the chassis.
The motor movement is communicated to the pinion 6 ', for example by a shaft W (FIG. 10) which itself receives the motor movement and transmits it by means of the two angle pinions p and p'. In order to allow the shaft W to have the same movements as for the rods H, it is divided into two, and its two trunks W and W 'slide one inside the other. In order for the drive to take place, the part of these shafts which slides one inside the other may for example have a square or polygonal section.
The rods H of the rollers, instead of being vertical, could all have a certain inclination.
The frame could also be fixed to the frame of the vehicle in an adjustable manner as to the height.
Fig. 12 shows a model of roie court intended to serve as an endless track which comprises holes T, surrounded by a metal rim R; the roller which drives the belt is then provided with teeth penetrating into these holes.
Fig. 13 shows a faith-denial of execution of the device which can be deformed to facilitate turning. The frame B, instead of being in one piece, is made up of three parts 40, 41 and 42, joined by the articulation axes 43 and 44: the same is true for the plates 45, 46 and 47 which hold the upper part of the inner tube. The latter consists of three bodies E1 E2 E3 which are joined by pipes 57 which could be fitted with valves.
